Hi,
I just switched from my Palm Treo Pro to HTC Touch Diamond, expecting to have the same ring tones and alarm notification sounds (as it's WM 6.1 too). But no, they are different, and I'm missing the nice Treo sounds :(, the nice old phone ring (ri-riiing), and the default appointment sound (that flute like thing).

So, could anybody please, please zip the wav/wmp files for me (I guess they are in the \Windows\Rings folder, at least that's where I find them on the Diamond)? You can upload the zip to http://stashbox.org/ and post the URL here (or send PM). Thanks a lot!

I ripped the MIDI ones I had from my Sony CLIE NX80, which are basically based off the orignal Palm ones all the way back to the beginning.

However, WinMob has horrible MIDI support with horrible default wave banks, so the tones don't sound right. Instruments are missing, sounds are off, lots of cackling on playback with the Kaiser.

Did Palm convert them to wave or some such on the Treo Pro?

Did Palm convert them to wave or some such on the Treo Pro?I have no idea. Don't even know which format they are kept in on the Treo Pro. I just remember they really sounded good...

I found a whole stack of .mid, mp3, .wav and .wma's in \windows (what was in \windows\rings was the ring tones/mp3s I had imported via the manage tab when you run "Sounds and Notifications").

I grabbed the lot of them from \windows, and uploaded it to stashbox, it's called "treo pro sounds.zip", approx 3.5MB. The link is:

Thanks so much. I haven't tested it yet, but the file names exactly as expected. Thanks again!
