I have a new Treo 800w (close to the Treo Pro, right?) running Windows Mobile 6.1 . I heard there's some hack to slow down the CPU speed in order to increase the batter life.

Anyone know of a hack or utility that accomplishes this?

Id like to hear about this.... but id rather have a clock key that could increase the cpu speed... My battery lasts several days on my pro, and id could do with a bit more snappiness (the only thing the epix has that i like more than the pro).

How were you able to make it last several days? I get 1 to 2 days tops with moderate usage.

I used advanced config to turn off the cell radio after 20 minutes of inactivity. Other than that nothing, works great. I made sure to run down the battery fully (and charge using a computer, to slow the rate of charge) to keep the battery in good condition.

how are you doing this? I would be interested in saving battery life. I get a full day unless I stream music then I have to swap batteries. I have never ran out of two batteries in a day though so I guess that is good.

It already is underclocked.. according to pdadb.net, Treo Pro has an MSM7201A running at 400MHz. TouchPro, and Motorola MotoSurf A3100 have the same chip doing 528MHz.
