I needed a ROM for every day use i class all the apps above as essential no Rom's i found had all the stuff i need so here comes JLAs Dynamics the ROM will be updated often. Stay tuned give your comments and suggestions and requests. Do you all need 1 more ROM as there are loads out there? I will update the thread as I'm updating.

OK guys this is how the ROM works in the download there is usual files and a sdconfig.txt if the sdconfig is not used the ROM will be almost the same as dvha. the reason I'm doing this is most of my custom stuff is in the ext ROM and with the sdconfig you can then remove or comment out or add what you guys need hence the DYNAMIC.

OK Guys i have uploaded now here is the link V1 http://www.4shared.com/dir/10480638/c646be9b/Roms.html (http://www.4shared.com/dir/10480638/c646be9b/Roms.html)

OK to flash via usb on Windows download the attached RUUWrapper.zip extract it to the same Dir as the ROM rename hermimg.nbh to RUU_Signed.nbh copy sdconfig.txt to storage card before flashing then start RUUWrapper.exe on your PC and follow on screen info.

OK the ROM seems to be getting some good responses so this is how versions will work main releases will be v1 v2 etc and small updates will be v1.1 v1.2 etc and some small update releases will be just extrom updates.

oooppps!, problems with my bluetooth headphones

pairing my dell headphones without problems, but when I hear music there is a little interruption every five seconds, very annoying you know. I use s2p, the last version peharps (v 0.55)

I've previously installed the sleuth patch, but it doesn't work

Another thing that doesn't work is WOW HD settings, when i try to use it, it shows a message about "there is no wow hd drive load", and the app closes.

That's all, I will continue testing mate,

I had the skiping issue before I installed WOW, and I think this app doesn't affect the music, only it doesn't run over the rom.

After uninstall WOW, I made a soft reset to erase all possible bad function about this app, and when the device started, the screen was blank, the os was running because the leds were working, but I couldn't use it.

I tried a hard reset, but the installed rom wasn't the same as before. I opened the sdconfig file and I discovered it was corrupted, why? I don't know if any of the things I did before was the guilty.

Now all is correct, I reinstall sleuth patch and sp2 but I omit WOW. The skiping music is back again, but now the frecuency is about ten/twelve seconds.

The battery life is very good, more than 24 hours without recharge.

I will continue testing, thx for your great job dude

Hmm Very strange with the sdconfig being corrupt i would say that was your sd card if i was you before doing any more flashing i would format your card and do a scandisk via windows and did you install any apps to the sd card? With the WOW thing i dont touch that app lots of people say thay have probs with it but like i say i have never tested it. Try going in to advanced config to the bluetooth settings and enable audio service i think thats what its called test and report back thanx.

news about skipping sound, I found the solution in the same xda page that Sleuth posted his solution, I did some suggested reg changes and... voilá! bye bye skipping, music now sounds continously and none annoying effects

about my sd card... you're right, corrupted file is a normal consequence from a bas sd card, i will format it

I've seem the page about WOW, I will try it later

thx dude

I read twice 'bout battery performance and it impress me too.
Chef, if you can make good performance on batt with RBSN, why don't you release the NRBS. Am sure that the batt performance will be even better.
As Zocs said that RBSN will consume more batt since it need more power to do the compression.

Hi i have only used dvha base rom no kitchen i used htc RIE and other tools to manipulate the .nb for tweaking purpose the main changes are in the ext rom i could do the same with the other versions of dvha if requested. I used this rom for stableness as a base now if i could find a way to break it down to xip sys oem then i could do more with it and make all versions hope this answers your question.

It's impossible to break down pdaviet roms.. they don't like sharing and thus encrypt their os.nb so you will get overlap errors when you dump it. maybe if you pm him he would provide your with a non protected os.nb. Good luck bro

STILL GREAT......

After Flashing about Six Roms today..... I came back to yours.... it feels so complete, I love opera mini 4.2, and have added a few apps and it still runs smoothly and yet to even need a soft reset!!!! Originally Schaps 4.31 was my choice as its just a solid Rom, but with you and the legend Joshkoss around, the hermes has got life in it still :)

Heya,

Just wanted to say that I tried your rom and it sucks real bad ...

Lol, scared you ? No man, you did a really good job with it. Time didn't afford me to cook my own, and now because I use yours I don't see a reason to do it anymore.
Congrats !

P.S. I've been using it for about 4 days and I didn't found any problems so far.
Good battery, good speed and i wouldn't suggest to add more apps. It's perfect as is.

I see that you're releasing version 2
I might have some suggestions with that
1. You should use a start cleaner. After a soft reset it's kinda annoying to see all the programs I previously opened. Would be a clean good addition for some
2. Check the HTC Connection Setup program. If the network is not recognized, it will try to run every time you do a soft reset even if I did the connection setup manually.

P.S.
1. I noticed today a weird thing. I installed Core Pocket Media Player and after it installed it advised me to do a soft reset because it has optimized the ATI Imageon chip. I didn't agree and I didn't made the soft reset. After that I couldn't install ANY program. This might not have anything to do with your rom..but i really didn't remember this to happen before. Anyway..fix is easy...just do a soft reset :D
2. Yes, good choice with not adding the im client. Everybody uses something else and then there's those who just don't use any(not talking about me).
Cheers !

ok does this program work fine with other roms i dont use that never have. I will look in to this but this could be the program.

Whats the problem with your radio.

I'm assuming that mine loads a few seconds slower cause I do add a newer version of MMS and maybe a couple other things to the /windows directory but I'm just speculating. I know on a fresh install it loads in 2 seconds or less its only after I install all my stuff that it goes up to 4-5 sec.. I posted what I install below and the only thing I add after that is MS VC and Resco Keyboard and Resco Explorer.

As far as my radio problems it will randomly turn the phone off and nothing will turn it back on except just resetting the phone till it works..I have ran into this problem with some other newer ROM's and heard it was the radio I'm using so I thought I would change it I'm just lazy lol

Oh I noticed you have version 3.2 of advanced config and was wondering if you were gonna update to 3.3 in the next ROM?

I don't see wktask in the sdconfig file anymore so I can't remove it :(

The apps that get rid of the bottom bar still don't work correctly. I attached the install file below for you to check out..

The .cab that runs the setaccustic stuff doesn't seem to run very long. Normally most ROM's that have it it takes at least a good minute for it to install and this one seems to be like instant. that may be fine but I'm not sure..

Any chance by default you could enlarge the box where you type out txt messages? Its set to 35 which is pretty small..Its no big deal I can manually change it but if you actually type a txt msg thats 160 characters you can't see it all setting it to 90 will be just large enough to.

I'm really enjoying this ROM keep up the great work :-)

Hi wktask is built in to the rom now as the default task manager. Ok i have just checked with the setaccustic stuff and thats all installing fine so no probs there and the msg box will adjust that so we can see more im gunna check that app that gets rid of the bottom bar later today and let you no but i see the apps is a early build it could have faults.

As of now I can see that opera takes a few minutes to instal; ROM is fast and I have no problems in having an activesync connection( using XP)

is there a way to increase sounds in hermes? it seems rather too quiet will try to install applications ... then add some feedback if that is okay with you

Problems with having extended ROm is that if ever you are installing a cab file you might be installing a cab to extended rom ( device ) and not the storage card per se

so for me to become useful
Tried this and it works!!!

Copied from this thread ... posted by pof
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=272837

or if your lazy here is the registry tweak
Use Registry Editor: it is included in the ROM

No need to do this one it is already set to this parameters
or just check
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Drivers\MSYSEXT
"Background"=0x0 (0)
"Foreground"=0x0 (0)

This you have to do
HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\EXT_FLASHDRV
"MountHidden"=0x1 (1)

IT works on me thanks pof:):)

I have tried it for atleast a day...
No problem in the ROM I havent tried connectivity though ( bluetooth, IR, wifi); activesync has no problem either ( most important one for me... In case I have to change a rom)

it is fast and battery is good

problem was when I am doing a backup( using a spb backup) no problem executing the backup but when I tried to backup my data it does not work...maybe I have removed some registry so cant confirm

all in all it is a nice rom

as of now I am trying all the ROMs I can put in my device so that I can learn what is a ROM which suits my device... Only thing to learn what is the best ROM released is to find it yourself:) I presume:)

hi.. this is a really great ROM.. quite fast but really stable..
just curious.. is there anyone that succeed to bluetooth sync with activesync 4.5 and dell's toshiba bluetooth stack.. I know there are problems/bugs with activesync and toshiba bluetooth stack.. then i followed advices that i found by googling, I downgraded to MS bluetooth stack but still, the problem persist.. I can't find activesync profile in bluetooth settings.. is there any relevancy with the ROM or it's just my blutooth adapter is the culprit..? sorry for the bad english.. I'm from Indonesia.. :D
Thanks..

Its V2.2 that I have up there. Direct link from a faster server.

JLA drop me a PM if you want an FTP account to upload your latest creations to.

And a request, your rom is awesome so far. Just is there any way to add the YouTube player that JoshKoss has in his rom. I've never gotten it to work from a cab, but whatever he does when he cooks it, it works.

So far I am loving your rom.

Downloaded the ROM late yesterday and so far I really like it. It's quick and stable.

Couple of items or questions though:

1. Is there any way to shut off the low volume sounds when I click buttons on the phone? It's not the standard click, but one inherent in the ROM.

2. I couldn't change the two bottom screen buttons without using the registry. I changed New SMS to New E-mail in the registry. Didn't know if there was an easier way to do this in the ROM itself.

3. A battery with a percentage left in it would be nice at the top rather than the standard battery (personal preference).

4. The Ext ROM is getting in the way of e-mail attachments. I wanted to use my microsd card for attachments, but it won't let me because it think the Ext Rom is my SD card. Any workaround? Is WMStorage somehow useful here?

5. When you enter swbell.net as a new account for e-mail it assumes it's an IMAP account (it doesn't question you to auto try to find, it just starts looking). I had to enter a dummy name and go back to switch it to swbell.net to allow for the POP in/out.

6. I love the JAVA with Opera Mini. I used to have to make the .lnk file, etc. and I love the quick load. Kudos on this.

7. Activesync always appears on the phone on reset. Never goes away unless I close the program manually. I looked at the scheduling and it's set to only come on when connected, but that apparently isn't the case.

I'll provide more later, but really like it so far. Was using Schwaps before.

Hi first did you let the sdconfig run? as there are no sounds set from a default install. You can change the default soft keys the ones at the bottom of the screen using advanced config in misc settings.
Dont understand with activesync it dosent stay on my rom unless you connect to pc or sync your time then you just need to x it off you could of installed some app that makes it auto run on soft reset. If you do a search in this thread im sure some one posted a reg entry that hides the ext rom if you cant find it i will post one later for you.

I'm not sure what you mean by let the sdconfig run? I downloaded the ROM and just ran the ruwrapper (sp?) as is. I didn't even realize you could choose certain software to be installed prior to installing the ROM. Silly me. Anyway, I get a sound whenever I click on phone buttons like the Start button for example. It's a low sound, but definitely audible. And my sound settings have both the click sounds unchecked so I don't understand it.

I didn't see an option under advanced config program to change the two default softkeys. My activesync appears on every soft reset. Thanks for the reply.

Ok when you download the rom there is the updater app and a txt file called sdconfig.txt copy the sdconfig.txt to your storage card and then flash or format your phone. The sounds are turned off with the sdconfig and activesync does not come on if using sdconfig. Ok load advanced config up and press the right soft key (menu) and then click (misc settings) then key mapping thats it change to the app you use and soft reset phone. To remove apps you dont whant open sdconfig.txt and remove the line that as the app in then format phone aka clear storage.

What directory should I copy the sdconfig.txt file to. Also, should I make edits to it before I copy it for cabs I don't ever want installed? I assume the file contains those programs that get placed in the EXT ROM.

I assume this step is after I've flashed the phone and later want to clear out the EXT ROM memory. Where is the sdconfig.txt file located after a flash?

Ok friend the sdconfig.txt you need to copy to the root of the storage card dont put it in any folders. The sdconfig will stay on the storage card all the time so you can edit it remove or add apps to it. Yoy need to do this before you flash and if you have allready flashed copy it to storage card and then do a clear storage. The apps will all stay in the ext rom but only the ones in the sdconfig.txt will install on a clearstorage hope this helps let me no thanx for feedback.

Okay, so I just got home. Re-downloaded v2.2 of the ROM. Copied the sdconfig.txt to the root directory on the phone and then ran RUUWrapper from the PC. ROM was installed, let it run through all of its initialization routines. When it first came up and I clicked with my stylus on the start button, I got a CLICK noise. No Activesys so I guess it solved that issue though.

Just found out the clicking sound is connected to the 'Events'. When I shut off Event sounds it goes away.

My active sync for some strange reason, goes on and off by itself at various times. Technically, I dont even sync, since I'm on Linux and dont use outlook. Either way, it comes and goes.

There are a few things I could do with out myself, like wktask.. the simple task manager which sits at the top in the corner is fine for my purposes. H buttons, well.. I can barely remember the buttons I have, last thing I need is more buttons. I use Icontact Burt edition 6.4.5. and add that from my sdcard.

I guess the question is, do I need to have all that as an extended rom? Whats the benefit of an extended rom vs an SD card with my cabs on it?

OK hmm i think the ext ROM is more secure lets say your card gets corrupt you lose all your apps on it. I made the ROM with all the apps i need so if i got a corrupt SD card or i had to master reset my device i would still have all the apps i need and it is sead that it is more stable than a big storage ROM.

Hi the sdconfig must be on the root of the storage card not the root of the device. Refresh me what is the atifix for if it is any thing to do with your time date etc activesync will startup.

I'm sorry, I must be a complete noobie. What do you mean by root of the storage card? With Activesync open on my PC and my phone hooked up USB, I clicked on "explore mobile device" and tree up to the initial root directory on the mobile device (not my storage card on the device). I then copied the sdconfig to that location from your ROM File. I then run the RUUWRAPPER file and the ROM gets flashed. It then boots up and goes through some JLA set ups, etc. I then go to the ext. rom directory and run a few CABS from there of programs I like.

I really like your ROM, but I feel like either I'm missing the boat on setting it up correctly or I'm not fully realizing the benefits of using the EXT ROM feature.

I appreciate your patience.

If I want to add or update a cab on the ext ROM, it has to be re-cooked, correct? I also like the fact that if I don't need a particular item, I can uninstall it. I do see your point about being secure though, SD cards can self destruct easily and without notice.

Yes you would have to recook the ext rom but you cand add to the sdconfig your own apps and tell it to install them from sd card and you can remove apps from the sdconfig via removing the line that tells it to install if that makes any sense.

Yes thats what it does when you flash and then start windows the first thing you see is a welcome and you start see ing apps geting installed this is when the rom looks for the sdconfig on the storage card it then reads the sdconfig what tells it to install the apps in the ext rom.

Which would explain why I have to manually install those apps from the EXT ROM after the flash - primarily because I didn't have the sdconfig located in the correct place.

Yes, I have been doing that with the SD card. A lot of the time, I like the apps for a while, then I come across something I like better, so I take it off for the next flash. Some apps seem to work better or worse on different cooks ROMs so, I leave them all on the sdcard, just take them off the config.

Hi josh no need to dump the ROM i just use HtcRIE and rec-mod some other bits and bobs to manipulate the ROM i can still modify the default.hv and the user.hv and initflashfiles.dat i can still add remove apps change what i want the only thing i cant do is change to big storage which i don't use anyway i like the ext ROM.

Wk-task is built in to the ROM in the add remove program screen that is for my custom configuration i made for it not the actual app.

You can only install to the extrom if you are super-CID the apps are just stored there so if you uninstall and decide you want them back you can install them again. The ext ROM works like your SD card no difference maybe a bit faster thats all.

Just wanted to pop in and toss ya an update. I have been running this ROM for Several days and it is probably the most stable ROM I have ever used. I did not do any OEM flashing or anything just installed and ran with it. Aside from 2 minor bugs it has been smooth sailing.

1st bug is when I reboot it, it gives me an error saying it can't find my network connection (like its trying to setup my data and voice) when I click open it asks to make a new network connection settings every time. The odd thing is all my settings are already done and working perfect.

2nd bug, blue tooth, if I turn on my GPS receiver, then load Tom Tom 7 it works perfect, but if I close Tom Tom and then reload it, it says I don't have a GPS receiver, so I close Tom Tom and turn the blutooth off and on again in the com manager, then reload Tom Tom, everything works perfect. I use Tom Tom almost every day on my phone as a staple of life. I have just gotten in the habit of hitting the phone button once, so it minimizes tom tom and leaves it running in the background. So I can do what I need with the phone while on the road and quickly just hit the small Tom Tom icon on the bottom of the system tray to reload it. Seems to work great for me. I had to do a 40km drive though the downtown city core today and my Tom Tom saved my butt as I had no idea in hell where I was going.

Oh and I spoke to JoshKoss via MSN and he let me know what files you need for the You Tube app. However I have lost my received files list somehow and will get the info to you via PM as soon as possible. His trick has something to do with using the Tom Tom app and then 3rd party drivers from someone else. Whatever he does it works GREAT.

This ROM is just about perfect. In your next build could you add in "Super Bright" screen cab. Its great for using the phone on really sunny days. However it kills the battery quickly if left on all the time.

Ok i will see what i can do for the next build. Yes try and get the info for youtube and i will do a build and test thanx for feedback.

The best ROM I use lately. Everything is working as expected, alot improvement compared to V1. Weel Done Chef.
Just some problem with the batt performance compared to my previous ROM i.e. the PDACorner (same known problem when I use DVHA ROM, because you use the same base).

Good luck on your V2.3. ROM...

On another note, I'm still having issues with ActiveSync popping up at random times. I terminate the process and a few hours later I'll pull the phone out of my pocket and there it is again.
Also, when connected to my PC, it connects and disconnects randomly, but I'm not sure where the issue with that is since I run Linux (using SynCE-KPM) although in the past I've not had any issues with that. Did you make any changes to the ActiveSync in the latest ROM?

Hi chef

I flashed the V2.3 two days ago, overally it works as expected as your previous V2.x version. Previously, I used the 1.56.70.11 radio ROM, but the batt performance was not so good. Then I decided to flash back my 1.47.30.10 and the batt performance is OK now.

Other than batt performance, I will give a try for another weeks and let's see if the overall performance is maintained.

well done

Hi thanx josh yes all is well. I will put this in but i have never had this problem im wondering if its what people are installing what need to use activsync wktask is showing this up but if we removed wktask we would not see activsync i think.

Hi all just a little update. I'm working on a internal build same as last version but with all apps in the ROM and all signs of dvha are now gone version numbers etc. I have put only latest opera mobile and latest google maps with street view in the ext ROM but not on sdconfig so thay don't auto install i feel the ROM is better with all apps in ROM giving a clean ext ROM for you guys to play with. If you would like me to upload post your comments.

PS active-sync killer will be included.

OK people just a quick update. So i have fully rewrote the Initflashfiles.DAT more clean now added super bright from requests re added adobe reader Le changed comm manager wallpaper to default theme and sorted the active-sync problem that some people was having. I have adjusted the threaded SMS MMS display size so you can now see much more text. Most of the the apps have been updated to latest versions if needed and all apps are now in the OS. As a extra i have put the latest Opera Mobile 9.5.15202 with some of my tweaks onand the latest GoogleMaps i think with street view in the Ext-ROM there not set in the sdconfig though this is optinal for you. There is a new file in the windows dir that stores all OEM reg settings this saves editing two separate files when I'm adding OEM apps.

Maybe some more its hard to keep track of all the changes i will start documenting them.

Mate, would like to say a great biggup on a cracking rom......Been running it for a few hours now and I can say its one of the best I've used.

This is the first rom I've flashed for a wee while, and I had to do an sd flash as Vista 64 wouldnt play ball and I couldnt be bothered loading up my ol XP machine.......Flash went well, in fact the method I used was by far the easiest method I've ever used......No more connecting to usb's for me :)

I'll keep testing for a few days and report any probs or what not.......Only thing I've noticed, and it's been mentioned before, the active sync coming on intermittently, will look for the fix and hopefully sort it out. In the meantime, good work bro......

WOW HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God I live in the quite part of town. I think nothing of leaving my laptop in my car and 1/2 the time the doors are unlocked to get Lap Jacked damn, that sucks so royally bad.

Let me know when you start on a new ROM. Well you you setup with ROM storage, test folder and works in progress on my domain. You'll be in good company with JoshKoss and CRC. I am going to make a slight change to how things are running and will need to contact both Josh and CRC. people are going to get there own Sections with separate user names that load to there personal directory to what they want this.

My server has proved to be able to handle everything that I thrown at it. So another developer using won't be an issue. Josh if you are reading this. I am going to make some tweaks, I'll PM you with the update in the next day or so when it gets done.

Developers will have full access to there HOME directory and can move files around upload and do all the normal stuff, however they won't be able to delete or alter files in another users dir. Safer for everyone.

Josh I'll send ya a pm right now.
