Well, after some tests with other rom's, I decided to keep using this one on my Tilt 8925, even with the issue with Audio Manager on the M2D Music Tab.
Another weird issue is that the GSM signal stays low, lower than the other roms that I've tested, even using the exact same radio rom that I was using on Hyper Dragon III for example. I don't understand why it happens, so it is difficult to troubleshoot...

I like so much this rom, that even with all the issues, I'll keep trying to fix these issues.

Ansar does not appear to care as the rom was not designed for Tilt 8925, and hence he does not have issues.
So if anybody could help me to fix these issues, I'd be very grateful.

Current issues are:
1-GSM signal lower than another ROMs (even using the same radio rom)
2-Audio Manager does not work embedded on the M2D Music Tab.
3-Windows Live needs to reinstalled on the SD Card.

this rom works just fine on my tilt with hardspl 3.56, signal is the same as on other roms. maybe you need to try another radio? the audio manager deal isnt isolated to this rom only, ive ran ample cooked roms that did the same thing in the audio tab, & windows live, i've heard alot of people have problems with it!

This issue with the lower signal I cannot tell for sure, but it seems to be lower with the same radio rom that I used on other cooked roms.
The other issues, I know they don't happen only with this rom. I was searching the forum for a solution, to no success.
The issue with Windows Live, I have made a workaround, reinstalled it on the SD Card and it is working fine.
The issue audio manager issue did not happen with the cooked roms that I've tested (Hyper Dragon 3, DK8, PDACornerUltimate)... But during the tests, at some time, the camera button stopped working, and again I don't know how to fix it. It is still not working :confused:

The conclusion is that there is not another ROM so fast and so complete as Mobile Vista. I love everything on it and will stay with it, perhaps until Ansar releases a new version.

Did you follow the instructions, specially, the item 2 below:

1-Put the KaiserCustomRUU.exe and the RUU_signed.nbh on the same folder on you computer.
2-Put the folder VistaLibWWE20755MVP3_00 and the file SDConfig.txt both on the root of the SD Card.
3-Run KaiserCustomRUU.exe and follow the instructions.
4-Wait until the flash is finished and Hard reset your Kaiser. Hard reset is done by inserting the stylus on the little hole near the USB connector on your Kaiser.

If you don't do item 2, M2D is not installed.

If you did item 2, then you probably did not wait until the Customization starts. The customization starts automatically after the flash is complete and after you align the screen.

Also, don't forget to hard reset after the customization finishes.

The thread is updated due to incredible more than 2250 Dls.

If you encountered issues check my previous posts for a fix.

The following are the must to be preserved for flashing it right:

1. Read again and again the readme.txt

2. Use hardspl v1 or higher to SUPERCID your device and to be capable of flashing any rom.

3. Charge you device to more than 70%.

4. Close all running programs and do not run any program during this process.

5. Set your device in bootloader mode (the tricolor screen).

6. Flash your device using CustomRUU.exe and RUUsigned.nbh in the same folder, and follow the instructions and

7. Let the machine to complete the flashing process i.e to load internal and SDCongig.txt files and finally to make the self reset.

No, you should have it in the device before starting the flash and you shoul have copy VistaLibWWE20755MVP3_00 folder and SDConfig.txt file in Storage Card.

Hi,

Step 4 is a must, especially if you will try to run an app during the process you will face flashing errors.

Step 7, i wrote self reset not hard reset. (a hard reset takes place imediately after finish of flash and the device boots with the new rom)

Step 5 is a must when for instance the flash stops in a non complete state, say at 65%.

Also when CustomRUU.exe boots the device and the sync is imediately lost without starting the flash and with an error message beeing reported.

Like several others have said; this is the best Rom I've flashed to date. I only have one issue (if you'd even call it that); the task bar covers up my Weatherbug icon. Is there anyway i can make the start button smaller?

Yes, tap WkTask in navigation bar select preferences and in general1 tab change the two offsets.

I usually set the second to 140.

Hi your new rom is very good many thanks, but now i find i am unable to flash any other rom, when i try to flash from bootloader mode i get a screen saying no image file then goes back to bootloader screen, any ideas? thanks


Hi,

In order to flash we first must sync our pda with the PC using Windows and pda active sync if in XP or less and Windows Mobile Device Center if in Vista.

Both files i.e. RUUsigned.nbh and KaiserCustomRUU.exe must be in the same folder.

After double click on KaiserCustomRUU.exe and flash start the device automatically goes to the tricolor screen twice but after some seconds the flash starts.

The problem there is when the flash stops with an error 260.

If you encountered this, it is most probable due to installed device drivers.

If you use Vista it is a must to have download the last Windows Mobile Device Center with version 6.1.6965 that has the right drivers.

When in synch with the PC, before starting the flash procedure, unistall the existing drivers from Device Manager and then install them again.

I did same thing but all I did to fix was to copy the files to the SD card and then do a HARD RESET of the device (hold in both menu buttons while pressing reset) and then press SEND when it asks me if I want to clear device back..

Then everything installed and ran...

I was quite happy for several hours and this is a very nice looking rom but I have a few issues..

1) It seems a bit slow... Esp the transition between landscape and portrait modes...
2) It eventually got hosed up and the 2D went away... I'm still using it with the old HTC home screen now and I guess will eventually reset to get back to the 2d stuff (there was an error of a missing file before this happened and if I see it again I will try to write it down and post here...)

I just wanted to say what a big improvement on the standard rom this one is.

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to roms so it was with some trepidation that I approached the process and flashed my first rom a week or so ago.

The first one I tried was someone elses and that lasted about a day on my phone because it kept on losing all sounds. I could phone people and they could phone me but they couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear them. So that had to go. A phone isn't much use if you can't talk to anyone on it. I suppose it could have been tweaked to make it work but I couldn't be bothered.

Then I tried yours and so far it's been on my phone for a week and is working brilliantly.

The biggest improvement I've noticed is the battery life. With the original rom I was lucky to have the battery last all day even with wifi and blutooth turned off. Now I have wifi enabled all the time and with reasonable usage the battery is lasting 3 days.

The only issues I've had have been the inability to set the touchflo email tab to accept my hotmail account. This was fixed by reinstalling Windows Live as previously documented in this thread.

The other thing is that Opera is the default browser and I can't find any way to reset it to IE. TBH I'm not happy with either browser. They're both pretty useless for browsing but out of the two I marginally prefer IE so I'd like to set it as default. I'm sure there's a setting for it somewhere and I'll stumble over it at some point.

So all in all I'm very happy. You rom has given me everything I want from the phone and has done away with a lot of little irritations that the original HTC rom caused.

Opera is selected by default in M2D design but i have set the browsing hard key (2nd key from left) to internet explorer.

So wherever we are we can use ie with just one click.

As for windows live i start from new account (M2D mail) enter hotmail and password and sign-in in windows live again with ID the hotmail and the password.

I have set volume to 100% with audio manager;changed some settings with WOW HD settings too. Tomtom and all our sounds are now fantastic but ringtone is still quite low. Is there anyway to set it to loud because it is currently set to normal.I used to have this option with the original o2 rom.

This really is a workaround, like I said before, audio manager does not have any issues when you run it from Start menu, Programs, Multimedia. But if you run it from the m2d interface, it will have the issue.
I found another workaround... if you run audio manager from start menu, programs, multimedia before you go to music tab on m2d, and keep this audio manager opened while you click on the music tab, it will fix the issue, the music tab works perfectly and it does not call a fRozen audio manager window. Perhaps because there is already a good audio manager running.

Hi, it is possible but may be is better and easiest to double click on a cab in order to install it.

Another way is the exe from your pc, if your programs are of this form.

If do you want to add programs with SDConfig.txt just send a post in here.

Hi,

You can do, but especially for M2D is better to plug your device and after the click on remove you will wait the operation to finish and the reset massage box to be invoked, due to the fact that is a big program.

Hi,

Contacts browser, i.e. Random Access, is working with the right vertical bar alphabetical index.

If you have disable it, re-enable it from options by unchecking the index option.

This is a great ROM, and I enjoy using it. I am not sure if I have a hardware problem or not, but all of a sudden my battery is not charging when connected to USB. Also, Activesync does not connect (I have tried several USBs). I flashed this ROM 2 days ago, and although I doubt its the ROM, I have to ask. I have also exchanged batteries with other TILT users here at work. Is this the ROM or hardware?! It happened in one day!

Hi,

You can do, but especially for M2D is better to plug your device and after the click on remove you will wait the operation to finish and the reset massage box to be invoked, due to the fact that is a big program.

I never get the message to reset. All it says is that "the program was not sucessfully uninstalled would you like to remove from programs menu?" I'll click yes but it is still there and the program has not been removed. Even if the programs are not running. It doesn't matter.

Hi,

Traffic message ( TMC) is a special service that must be supported by your country in order to work. It gives you special traffic info when works.

Cell broadcast is another special service by your cellular phone service, if provided.

Text 3D as well as lights and triangle are simple tasks to test the D3D driver, never mind of them.

D3D driver replaced the original software simple driver and is used extensivelly by TouchFlo and all other applications.

id like this rom but when i start to flash it i get all the way to the progress bar where its about to load the new rom and then it doesint even start it stays at 0% then comes up on a error 262 update error. the rom update utility has encountered communication errors during the update process.

Hi,

If you use Vista in your PC then you need Windows Mobile Device Center version 6.1.6965 and check also that you use the right drivers.

Hi Thanks for all your guys hard work. I managed to work it all out and get the file i needed via another thread in here. I downloaded both version with and with out radio to try them out.

With radio looked sweet but seemed a bit buggy on my phone and the iphone lock slide well what can i say about that. Nice touch but that caused a bug with no start bar. So i used rom without radio and discoverd that I needed to add in the radio. So of i go to hunt again . I tried approx 5 diffrent ones and finally found this one on this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420142) I used version Kaiser_Radio_Only_1.65.21.14.nbh and the sound is perfect.

well worth the effort I am now very happy. Can any one point me in the direction for some great games and apps

Hi on my travels i beleave their is a fix for this but cant rember where it was it was somthing to do with usb sync keep cutting out on certian models. Any one got any ideas for Robo289

In TyTN II we cradle the device in power mains and from today we uncheck Touchflo item.

Then we unistall it from the installed programs and wait for the reset massage box (do not unplug the device because s2u2 may popup and have problems).

After the self reset we configure the today items as usual.

I must say this is far the best rom on this forum... plenty of software and really fast...
I had to go to another ROM since this one is not working so well on my Tilt 8925, mainly because of poor signal. I tested many radios and the signal was poor with every radio rom. The ROM is designed to Tytn II and I truly believe it would work perfectly on a Tytn II.

So far, the list of bugs on Tilt 8925 are:

Bug: Manila 2D Music tab does not work as designed. Every time you go to the Music Tab, it pops up an Audio Manager window and freezes this Audio Manager window. At the same time, the Music Tab can play music but cannot show music artist/title.
Fix: I was not able to fix it.

Bug: Windows Live that comes on the ROM does not allow you to enter your username. Ansar says the hotmail account should be configured before you can use Live Messenger, but I tried his directions a million times to no success.
Fix: I had to install Live Messenger on SD Card.

Bug: Poor signal. I tried a bunch of radios, including the radio that comes with the ROM. None of them worked fine. The same radios work preety well with other ROMs that I tested.
Fix: I did not find any radio that work so well as in the other ROM's.

Bug: On every soft reset, when Windows ends up loading, an unnamed window appears on the task bar and stays there. Don't know what application is the owner of that window since it does not have a name. Not able to close it too.
Fix: Long tap on its icon on the taskbar, and then choose Hide always.


Ansar, please, would you release a ROM fixing these bugs for the Tilt 8925?

I recommend this ROM for every Tytn II owner!!! I wish I had a Tytn II...

1. Is there anyway I can uninstall the Voice Speed Dial? If not, can I install MS Voice Command anyway and expect it to work?

the bug with the audio manager isnt only on the tilt, i have an orange branded tytn II and audio manager scrambles when loaded through the music tab but that is the only problem i have with this rom.

this is a very fast sweet rom and i love all the sliders! keep up the nice work hopefully (job dependent) should be a nice bonus for you!

Audio Manager is due that i did not changed to v2.0 like in mio A701, but kept the original v1 with my developed graphics.

In the new one there is a v2 with new graphics and some more things, wait ...

Hi,

The simple way is this:

1. We create a SDConfig.txt, can be the original one, keeping the last RESET instruction only.

2. After flashing we can install the desired cabs as usual, with a click on the *.cab .

After that we copy the shortcut/(s) at the desired folder at Start Menu\Programs\Tools or whatever.

I just once more wanted to thank the creator of this ROM for the great work. I'm afraid that I am abandoning this ROM because I've not been able to get a response as to my earlier post regarding Voice Command and Voice Speed Dial neither from the thread, or the ROM creator. And since I wish to have MSVC and NOT Voice Speed Dial, I will seek a new ROM today that has MSVC already installed, or with NO Voice Speed Dial, so that I can install the MSVC. It doesn't work well with both installed on the device.

Great ROM ansar! Have flashed 3 or 4 others, not one to flash ROMs frequently, dont like to go through the trouble of backing up and restore all my info and restoring all my settings. This ROM has been the most incredible experience i had had and i am total noob have had my ATT TILT for less than a month...KUDOS.

Voice Speed Dial is a Cyberon implementation and comes with the original HTC rom as an internal package.

In order to "uninstall" it you can change some registry settings and then to install another one.

If you already have installed MSVC, it should be there.

In any case after installation of MSVC you can create the missing registry value as follows:

1. You go with Task Manager / RegEdit in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand

2. Tap and hold on VoiceCommand and select New\Value

3. Now Enter the value name as path

4. Select done to return.

5. Tap on the path and select edit

6. Enter the new value as \Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe

7. Select done to return.

Check that all is as should be

try to use kaiser tweak to see if it will open that tab, i've not tried it myself but if you use the latest version of kaiser tweak it may let you enable that tab.

Hey, congrats for your ROM, This morning i installed it (but without the SDconfig) in the storage card, and it was flying. Very Very good performance !!!!
Now i am installing it with all the apps and cabs.
Testing .... :)
What would happen if I were to edit the SDconfig.txt file to install all apps to the storage card??? Since I have a 16 gb card I would rather leave as much of the internal memory as possible free, instead of bloating it with all the heavy internal apps that are configured... Would i only have to edit the path??? Or do I just flash without sdconfig.txt and install apps separately????

Hi,

Create an SDConfig.txt with one line, the last one with the reset instruction.

Then no apps will be SD installed and you can install the cabs you like.
