It is beautifull, but not adapted to our Diamond screen. It misses the bottom row of the buttons. We still have some homework to do!

The touch HD is WVGA (480x800) and the Raphael is VGA (480x640)
I'm not sure if just scaling the graphics will be enough but it's the right place to start.

Ofcourse I'm reading your posts! Actually, I follow this whole thread with great expectation :D.
In now way I ment to critisize your attachment, I do realize that you didn't claim anything else the redistribute the original HD Dialer, but....
I thought it would add some information to all readers to explain what this package would do on our Diamonds so it would be clear what work has to be done. I'm joining this community for some time now, and I did forsee some future miscommunication..... That's all!! :p

Different device, same UI, similar problems and discussions.
The discussion there is porting the QVGA to a VGA device and the HD is a WVGA to VGA port.
At least from an image scaling point of view the HD version seems more portable since the images won't be blown up 2x.
Still, the big challenge in either case, as someone mentioned earlier, is porting the functionality rather than just resizing images.
Luckyfox777
18th November 2008, 10:20 PM
i agree with fireweed.
i assume that there is small part of code regarding the slide to answer or ignore, and if it could be posible to just change this part of code instead of code which makes 2 buttons(answer and ignore) so this way no need to part anything else, just a part of code

I was more trying to demonstrate that you were asking a question that had already been investigated. I know that so far, it appears that there is no real solution..
I never tried it myself but did you download the Opal skin, etc and see how it looked..?
You could always assist in trying to solve this issue yourself..?

hehe, that is another theme, they want to port dialer from Opal which has 240x320 screen, but here we want to ask someone to port from HD :D
i really can size down the images, and i could try to edit .dll if i knew where to look at, and also if i had .dlls from actual diamond dialer

the rom 1.97, just get the slider when you make a call, not when you recive a call .... : (

It only solves 50% of the problem, it's an in-call sliding mechanism so you don't end the call while speaking on the phone!

And it will be very hard to do. Button's action areas positions are hardcoded and can't be edited with restorator or reshacker

Maybe i don`t understand but ...it is easier to remap something that is already done for VGA ...than from WVGA (Touch HD) If there is problem with get to work VGA version i don`t want to imagine about WVGA ...

you can always switch back to original SPL and ROM, for warranty purpose.
advantages of a cooked rom beat any warranty issues you might ever have.

No curtain when receiving calls!!! It´s just over the dialpad so it´s still possible to pick up the call mistakenly from your pocket :o

I agree it is just half a solution. In fact it is the same functionality as before, but then the screen was turned of to protect against unwanted softkey pressing. The screen will stay on now, but the buttons are covered up. We can reach them by sliding the cover down, just as we could before by pressing the navigation button to turn on the screen.

If I give you a ROM from HTC Shadow2, would you be able to extract nk.exe ?

since when the diamond interal lock or even s2u2(without slide to answer) lock the answer and ignore button?
oh... yes.... they dont^^
i wanted to say:
we dont really NEED slide to answer as we got hardware keys to get or ignore a call, we need a solution locking the answer and ignore buttons to not accidential touch them without installing another program draining battery power, ram and cpu cycles...^^ so a shield/curtain would do it as well as phone canvas with slide to answer ;-)

Really, if you don't mind me asking, which network are you using? and could you post some screen shots from your phone?
Several of us CDMA users have tried but it only bunged up our phone. So if you followed the above and got it working, any additional information and screenshots showing it would go along way to assuring us.
It's not that we don't believe you, its just that we had to hard reset our phone to fix it. :) so I'd rather not have to HR again just after I reinstalled everything back to the condition it was before trying the install.
Hope you understand.
