It's only for those who really know what they're doing. - Custom Roms
Some may use the dump for 'Ripping' apps.
Some just want it for fine tuning certain apps.

This might be a stupid question, but how would having the stock spl be helpful. I'm a little confused about this whole ROM dump thing... Are you just providing space for people to upload roms they cook, or am i missing something here?

EDIT: NVM i think I get it now... Has anyone been able to make a decent rom yet then? Or if possible upload their stock rom that theyve tweaked?

We've still got a long way to go.

But we got to start somewhere.

Some here at xda-developers, with more talent than me, will use the files I've attached.

If there was a workable Custom Rom ready to flash, this will be the first place to post it.

Where can I go to learn whatever I need to learn to help out with this? I really want to contribute but don't have the slightest clue about where to start with these rom dumps.

xda-developers don't care much about the Treo Pro
Just look how this place has little to no activity.
And there's even less activity at other places such as; ppcgeeks, modaco, and buzzdev.net.

If there was a big enough interest,
guru's would have already taken my dumps and built us a Custom Rom.
(As of yet, the Treo Pro isn't that Popular)

Hopefully, when Sprint releases the Treo Pro, it might gain more popularity.

Your welcome to read, read, and read.
The only direction I can give is the sites I've already posted.

I have lost the time and the interest to pursue it much further than I've taken it.

Honestly, the stock Unlocked Treo Pro has a Clean Rom as is.

I'm not really looking to take things out, I just want to add to it. There are a certain number of apps that I would like to have always there.

It's definitely a good start. The official Sprint launch will, no doubt generate more buzz. The bottom line is, like berdinkerdickle said, the Stock Rom is pretty clean, and has some nice tweaks already built in.

Also, anyone notice this is the only forum without a device image on it. Second class citizens indeed :)

I provided the Dump, made some progress on Reconstructing, and had to move on to other projects.

I then Dumped the Spl, helped cmonex with a few other things,

cmonex made some big progress last night.
I will continue to help.

But, out of curiosity, who is interested in a custom rom, and who would like HardSpl for their Panther?

It just seems there hasn't been a lot of activity over here, and I wonder if it's worth cmonex to continue.

Actually a Custom Rom is not useless without HardSpl.
HardSpl is more of a FailSafe.

sprint treo pro coming real soon. i know that once it is released we will have a lot more request for hard spl and custom ROMs.

with the release of current treo pro being a non carrier release, there are too many users out there. even with the 800w and the pre coming soon. i feel the sprint treo pro and soon to be verizon treo pro (just figuring they will release after exclusive runs out) this device will get the attention it deserves, at least for the users. i just hope the xda developers/hackers give attention as well.

with the IE 6 with flash possably takeing so much of the ram, i would think we need custom roms for sure. must get all the ram we can.

Do we have a sprint rom dump yet? I'd like to see if someone can pinpoint what's enabling the A-FLT if it's in the rom (If the pro even has A-FLT). This would potentially be the key to unlocking A-FLT locating in google maps for other sprint phones, since most phones have it but sprint encrypts/hides it.

I'd love to help with HardSPL and ROM cooking but I need to learn how to create a HardSPL and not just open it up in a hex editor. I'll definitely use the files you posted especially to learn about graphics acceleration on WinMo.

hi guys, new to the forums and Windows Mobile modding. Have had alot of oldschool motorola firmware modding and custom firmware building experience (oldschool as in V3 razr, V3x ect). Hopefully i can pick up the necessary info and tools to help contribute.

Already dumped the roms from my treo pro, looking into this whole new world of "Kitchens" :D
So this spl is a failsafe upgrade codeblock to make sure we dont brick the device?...ill read around.
