Igo 8.3.1 & Diamond Help !!!!

I have trouble with run igo I correct (sys.txt) for run on storage card also I correct for resolution but when I run igo it's appear and shut down after appear for half second every 10 seconds and disapear help what's wrong.
I have version without exe - I use autorun installation after exe appear on the diamond in programs files. I copy this exe in folder with program ....

You're not using Igo for Diamond (I had the same problem)... Where did you get this version ?

I have iGO8 8.3.1 working fine, post your sys.txt.

also you should know that version 8.3.1 is NO WAY NEAR as good as 8.0.49 or 8.0.59 there are so many features missing on the 8.3.1!!

for example:

auto capitalisation missing in 8.3.1
longer GPS fix time
cannot change the trip meter when no route is active, it only displays compass and altitude
speedcams done show up all the time
much heavier on phone resources

I have iGo 8.3.1 running perfectly on my device. I copied everything in the internal memory then ran installation from 2577 folder. No need to change sys.txt. Everything runs fine. I run Igo clicking on igo.exe in the igo8 folder

I suggest going with 8.0.x either rather than trying 8.3. It was very unstable and laggy on my diamond. Theres no need to try. The new features are not worth the stress. Pity is, that the new map versions dont work with 8.0.x. But that will be a matter of time, i think...

Wich language is your ROM? WWE or another?

If it's WWE, put this in your sys.txt:

I dont know where you are all getting your software, but the versions you are all talking about are really poor.

I have the following:

Nav N Go iGo v8.0.0.54000 & Nav N Go iGo v8.3.1.57021 - WORKING 100%

and the sys.txt for both is:

in both of my installs there are 2 files:

2577
iGO8


and that is it, i have had no messing around with sys.txt, I do not have to go looking for program exe's with total commander or sending shortcuts anywhere.

With the versions i have, and this install procedure works for both releases of iGO8:

1, copy 2577 & iGO8 to internal storage
2, unplug phone from usb

and that is it, and you even have the added bonus of having startmenu shortcuts installed!! WOOP

also as another great feature of the way my installs work is when you flash a new rom, the first thing to popup after typing in your pin is the install screen for iGo8 and all settings/favourite locations/etc are all kept in tact!

I have compiled both of these myself from bits and pieces from various different sites and they are not available for download on any site in the configuration i have made.

just as a side note, it was me who got iGo v8.3.1.57021 to work at all on the HTC Diamond!!and variants have propogaed through the internet which dont work as well.

All that has to be done is
In SYS.TXT
Change the SD card to the name of your internal memory.
ON Diamond if your SYS.TXT sais SD card IGO will not work!

I igo8 works well on diamond
but I have a problem
the diamond after a few seconds to go on hold and the screen goes black.
in theory it is right but with no navigation program.
How can I do to stay on?

Also I have not been able to find a U.K map with the full 7 digit postal code entry (only seems to have 4 or 5 digit entry I.E SE26 then it brings up code that relate to SE26 you sill have to entry the road name, this seem to be stepping back to prior version 8.0x

Diamond does not have a TMC receiver, but I have a stand alone GNS receiver with has TMC & GPS built in to one unt

Hello,

I have a diamond and iGO 8 is running fine. Although, I would like to install a newer version, because I would like to make use of the VGA display. Although, no matter which version I try (and I tried 4-5 versions or maybe even more), it isn't working.
Every time, the applications is starting and after I see APP INIT, iGO is quitting. I already fixed all the paths in sys.txt.

PLEASE HELP !!!

I found the solution: simply add the following in sys.txt

sdcard_dsk_num=7

Although it doesn't like the maps I feeded it with (from iGO 8.0), but it looks like it is finally going to work!!
Can you please advise which version is better? I've read somewhere in this forum, that 8.3 is lacking some features...
