Memory Map slow to start up

Has anyone else got the problem where Memory Map gps software takes along time to start up? My previous phone (Charmer) was fine, so is a friends touch pro. it's the same whether i have any maps on my storage card or not.

I had this problem.

Stating the GPS with another application like TomTom or Google Maps then starting Memory Map seemed to cure it for me. Memory map takes an age to get a GPS lock and it wouldn't start up until it had got one. TomTom and Google Maps do it much faster.

Another otpion is to disable the GPS within Memory map when you have finished with the application but befor you close it down. Doing this allows me to launch the app without any problems then once I'm in Memory map manually enabling the GPS.

Well, it works for me, it's worth a try.

cheers for the reply. Unfortunately doesn't help though. At least you've confirmed that it CAN work on the Kaiser.

After a moment of inspiration i tried removing the memory card. Memory Maps starts instantly. My guess is that it is searching the 8gb card for maps and it takes a while. I don't know how to stop it doing this though.
