View Full Version : After I flash ROMs, won't sync

Everytime I flash a ROM, my Tilt won't sync. I plug it in and the computer doesn't recognize anything. Bring up ActiveSync on the Tilt and it tells me that I need to install the software on the computer.

Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Try changing the "advance USB connection" under the USB configuration... For some reason on my WindowsXP desktop it must be UNCHECKED but on my Vista laptop it must be CHECKED... if I do not make the change it will not do anything (you hear the connection sound but it never recognizes the device)... works great otherwise. Hope it helps.

ok I unchecked the box and that made it recognize the device (it says "connecting...authenticating" on the Tilt) but it still doesn't show up on the computer except for a "safely remove hardware" thing pops up in the bottom.

Sounds like you need to update/upgrade your MS Activesync. Also make sure that Activesync is actively running on your Tilt (running in task manager). The new(er) taskmanager will close all programs including activesync even in the middle of a sync if you hit the close-all (x).

No, I have the latest version on my computer. That's not the problem. And it's definitely open on the Tilt.

Sorry but I'm out of idea's only thing I can think of is an error when you flashed the ROM I had a similar problem before I flashed my ROM. When I was unlocking my phone I had the same problem but it corrected itself after I flashed the ROM try reflashing the ROM or a deferent ROM.

Have you gone through the whole "Detection" process on your computer? Tried plugging the phone in directly (not through a usb hub), etc? And lastly, delete the association and then plug it in again?

Since I moved to 6.1 I've had a lot more trouble with ActiveStink. Most of the time it doesn't recognize the phone first thing, but I found that plugging the phone directly to the computer makes it work better. Why I need to do this now and never did before I don't know.

Bluetooth also sometimes is more reliable for me.... but sometimes not! AS is very annoying, and gives zero information when it fails.
