How can I upgrade SPL from 1.2 to 3.x - HELP ME.HELP ME

Hi
I was familiar with up ROM for SPL 1.2
But in order to up ROM to SPL 3.5 version, I spent 6 hours to read all, all, all... and I still confuse.
No one says about the way to upgrade SPL from 1.2 to 3.x
As I knew, AP 4.0 can upgrade from directly from (???) - because in the instruction of AP 4.0 installing, they did not talk about the version of SPL, they only say that it must be 3.x, and 3.5 was attached in AP 4.0
But also they said that if up ROm 3.5 for SPL 1.2 it will make the phone be a brick one.
So confuse here.
Pls forgive me, because I am a newbie, so much information here (even I tried to search many times, but no result for me to know about that way)
So, pls help me to answer this question.

SPL3.5 Upgrade
OK if you got this far You should be able to do this.
**First step is to install AP4**
At the moment there is only 1 foolproof way to do this and this is to use the Athena Updater

It is very detailed and I recommend following it exactly !!

It is clear now for me.
As I know now, installing AP 4 is one process which also includes the "up SPL 3.5". That's why I could not find out any thread about alone SPL 3.5
Also, it means that AP 4 will support SPL 3.5 for any other upROM 3.5.
I know that the file PDF is VERY CLEAR about the process to Up Ap4
(however, it is not clear to talk about SPL 3.5 for newbie, who still doesn't know where SPL 3.5 is).
So I guess that, the Instruction file for AP4 SHOULD attach more one sentence " The SPL 3.5 is not alone until now to install, it is attached to AP 4 ROM, and it will be THE FIRST VERY IMPORTANT step to CONVERT Athena into SPL 3.5".
I am sure that, after that, the most stupid one can be known.

does any of you know if there is a way to update the rom to AP4 via minisd card? I have learned to do it this way with most of the new roms apart from this one and unfortunately my usb is down so I can't use it.
