I agree. I am testing these for him because I have the same dogs as he does and they have eaten many cords and I have dropped my phone in the pool more than once. I like testing for him because he is very talented.

So people--if you don't have backups or don't know how to get your phone back where you want it quickly don't download this until we say it is finished...beta testing is beta testing. Other chefs say they are in beta, but they aren't in beta...they are in feature decision. This truly is ground breaking cooking so don't expect these to work until we get all the bugs figured out.

Phone button not working on mine too.
Will stick to SOLACE V2. The best ROM ever. Very stable and responsive. I have thrown everything on it. It has swallowed it all without complaining. Will flash my phone back to it now. Good luck MBV. I hope it work out well at the end. I can wait.

Flashed--it sticks at the welcome/alignment screen. the touch screen doesn't respond.

I bypassed with welcome.not and was able to complete customization. Tried to align screen...the alignment won't stick.

The phone buttons do not work. I can get into phone settings from settings/personal but there is no connection.

Don't know what else because I really couldn't do much more without the touchscreen.

This is a great contest....you have some great equipment. I am such a geek I never through old computers away I repurpose them....BTW I have an ATI Fire GL with 512 MB RAM on that lappy...the core2duo is a core2duo pro....runs pretty well. I can't complain since I didn't have to pay for it!

I think RC16 which, I was the only one to test because of some basic issues--was very fast--fastest rom I have ever had on my tilt.

Mbarv, I could beta test for you live, on AIM or something. That way its as if you had the kaiser in your hands to a certain extent. I had a kaiser but my idiot of a brother tilted the screen too much and it just broke in half... And the screen is messed up so, sorry. But you could talk to me on AIM and I will gladly help you.

I would be more than willing to do a little live beta testing via AIM. I love the ROM's but there are some kinks such as Quick GPS. I've had some freezing issues with NATF's v5 and Solace RC16 so I'm thinking that I may have a bum tilt, even though this JUST came in as a warranty replacement from at&t.

EDIT: Rebooting after customization fixed the windows key and okay key problem, looks like MBV's old M2D skin, other than that, so far so good.

Bug: All Programs link in M2D is broken, the applet launches but doesn't populate the program listing, tapping in that area throws an exception. Normal Start Menu link is fine.

Status: Playing with it.

Missing: Opal Task Manager/Xbutton, Proper skinning on Enhanced Title Bar (looks like the glossy overlays are missing), QuickGPS nowhere to be found.

I am back on. I'll look at the link in m2d...and yes I know it isn't rebooting after the customization, the slide exe link is missing and the connections panel has some issues--two usb shortcuts and a wwan that doesn't work yet but you can enable wwlan on the commanager and it works...so yes we have something between the three of us we can work on and finish.

I am moving the kitchen from my laptop--work machine and am installing AIM on my other pc along with the kitchen. I'll be on line in a minute.

We are going to post the list. It also doesn't reboot at the end of customization. That is a bug in the original omnia sys. I have had that on every build including the original 3.29..

Update--camera fixed, sliding sound applet fixed, usb connectoids fixed, still have an applet issue with wlan and I need to fix the all programs link..it is in and will make the next build as will quick gps.

Update Saturday 12/20 noon...Wlan fixed. All programs link fixed and quick gps included fixed. Sashimi error fixed, uc error fixed reset bug fixed.

Update Sunday 1pm est--All programs link really fixed. Arcsoft MMS now works and is installed.

Credit all goes to MBV...his idea, omnia port and kitchen. He started but it takes a team. We are all working closely on this..we'll keep you updated. It is really fast and really stable.

Announcing the next version of Solace, brought to you by ParleyP, using MBV's kitchen and Omnia base. MBV really seems to like this, and told us to release it in a new thread being this will be actually stable when all is said and done. I'm not 100% sure that this is a direct successor to Solace, but i'm fairly sure. I'm just hoping the SMS bug is fixed in the latest version, there's kind of a quirk involving replying to messages, in that it goes back and highlights the message almost as soon as you tap in the reply area. I (and i think parley too) think it's an issue with EZ Input.

big question here tho, not rom related, i've been running the pdacorner v13 waiting for this release, been running the pda roms since v9, yesterday i noticed that all my mobile browsers wouldn't work until i turn off my phone a couple of times, i've NEVER had this problem, op mini, opera mobile, pie, skyfire all wouldn't work, I HAVEN'T changed anything, even did hard reset, still the same problem, just flashed this rom, and it's doing the same thing, had to turn the phone off and on about 3 times to get them to connect. its weird, i keep double checking settings, have hardreset 3 times today, still running the same radio that i have ran for a month, the polaris 1.59.44.02, and all this started yesterday. it shows in the title bar that i am on (connected), but none of the mobile browsers work, so in two days, two different roms, 3 hardresets and still same problem, any ideas?

I'm just hoping the SMS bug is fixed in the latest version, there's kind of a quirk involving replying to messages, in that it goes back and highlights the message almost as soon as you tap in the reply area. I (and i think parley too) think it's an issue with EZ Input.

big question here tho, not rom related, i've been running the pdacorner v13 waiting for this release, been running the pda roms since v9, yesterday i noticed that all my mobile browsers wouldn't work until i turn off my phone a couple of times, i've NEVER had this problem, op mini, opera mobile, pie, skyfire all wouldn't work, I HAVEN'T changed anything, even did hard reset, still the same problem, just flashed this rom, and it's doing the same thing, had to turn the phone off and on about 3 times to get them to connect. its weird, i keep double checking settings, have hardreset 3 times today, still running the same radio that i have ran for a month, the polaris 1.59.44.02, and all this started yesterday. it shows in the title bar that i am on (connected), but none of the mobile browsers work, so in two days, two different roms, 3 hardresets and still same problem, any ideas?

Try the nike or emo radios. I like them better than Polaris. I am running the emo radio...15 second gps lock inside from a cold start...

Those who are selected---you must be either hard spl 3.29 or 3.56 or commnex variant of the same. Also, this build has no games.

It is patched already for custom weather so do NOT use N2a patch or scoutcha's manila fix patch...that will break it.

Also sticks on "Account display name:" screen when trying to setup pop email account. No options to go forward or backward from this screen. Disconnect button instead of OK button takes you back to Today screen.

ok the stock rom as reported fixed my problem, so i reflashed this rom and had the same problems as be4, so i put pdac rom back on and STILL having the same problem. still shows i have 3g/hsdpa conection but none of my mobile web browsers will work until i reboot a few times

It may be something we are installing..because I just reflashed and texting is fine...but I am investigating options and fixes.

I think we have fixed most of the issues. We have 8 people testing it right now. I also have fixed the dialer and put in the opal dialer now so we have a consistent look and feel.

Do you all want arcsoft mms included or do you want to leave it out? Do you have a must have application that is freely available?

I am not saying we will include everything but must haves we will look at. This rom provides a great stable fast base on which to add your own favorites. It is still based on the OMNIA base with its native drivers that HTC has not seen fit to give us---that the community has developed on its own.

MMS is built in right now--but we don't have video calling in the US so I haven't included it. I am reviewing video dialers and will put out a video dialer rom for the rest of the world that is MORE advanced in features because that is easy. If you have a favorite video dialer, please post a link.

Essentially, yes. Phoenix is all/most of the stuff MBV had in Solace, but with a working omnia base. In the first post of the Phoenix thread I explain the name.

MBV's been cooking for his friend's HTC Touch, then I think he's planning on tinkering with Phoenix with us.
