Just want to see if anybody with Hermes has got it to work and picked up with any version on TomTom Home on the PC or if it's a lesson in futility.
What's the format to connect? Connect via activesync, run TomTom on the PDA then start TT Home on the PC?

I just plugged my hermes into my Windows XP laptop (I'm not running it right now) and opened Tomtom home and it connected. I'll have to test it again to make sure it still works.
I just downloaded it for my mac, and it won't connect.
I might have to do a bit more research...

Yes, please to check to see exactly what version of TT Home you are running and also which ROM you have on your Hermes. Cheers.

TOMTOM 7 - as i recall the only way of updating maps thru tomtom home was to get all the files from tomtomgo card on clean sdcard with your maps update it then use again updated with your pda . I did it so . cause all never tomtom home are checking the device type official supported. (was little dificult to get these files (http://uploaded.to/?id=k8uujq) ) :D

I've been using TomTom 6 on my 8525 for almost a year now. It works with every ROM I have tried. It installs on your SD card and it installs an installer on the SD card as well. As soon as I insert the SD card it reinstalls TomTom. The maps are on the SD card as well and they are locked to the device. So if you have several devices that you play with it will only work in the device that was used to unlock the maps.
You install the app and maps via TomTom home but it is a different version (1.5) than the TomTom nav units use. And it does require ActiveSync to communicate. When you sync it fires TomTom home.
