iCaller v0.1.0.3 alpha

Simple CallerID application which extends system default Incoming Call screen with full-sized pictures, additional contact information and fully customized interface.

Currently, it is an alpha version, which means that it may contain bugs and do not work correctly on some devices. Please give me the feedback, I'll be fixing issues.

You may get it also at my new home site (truburt.net)

Features:

- Lightweight
- Expands default incoming call screen without affecting its behavior
- Full-sized contact picture
- Pictures can be stored on a Storage Card or in Pocket Outlook database
- Picture can vary for the same contact depending on its phone number (just name the picture with a number, e.g. 5554433.jpg)
- Customized interface based on HTML (using system HTMLView control, thanks for idea goes to mrproper (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426391))

ToDo:

- Screen lock functionality
- Speed improvements
- Bugfixing

Instructions:

- Unpack contents of the archive in a folder on your device, e.g. \Program Files\iCaller (do not forget to copy zlibce.dll too!)
- Check settings.ini - it is configured for English version of Windows Mobile OS, you may need to replace sSysCallerWndTitle option from 'Phone - Incoming...' to your localized name of system default Incoming Call window
- Launch iCaller.exe

For detailed instructions refer to readme.html

Note!

Stop and restart iCaller each time you modify the settings.ini file!

Haven't tested with Manila yet. Probably it will require modifying sSysCallerWndClass and sSysCallerWndTitle options in settings.ini to properly hide Manila CallerID. I'll investigate the delay issue too. Thanks for the feedback!

mmh, this is a feature that is build in s2u2 allready (runnes on any device, fullscreen), so where is the different if this is ready?
So this might only be usefull if there is really someone out there who does not use s2u2 ;), (maybe throttlelock users)

In fact, I've installed S2U2 and uninstalled it two days after, didn't like the weight and functional overload. So it's up to users to decide :)

Not to forget that iCaller works usefully on Smartphones whereas I, for one, have never gotten anything working with S2U2 on a Smartphone. Plus it's lightweight and since you're using the HTMLViewer that means it's also pretty configurable.

I've got a few ideas myself on themes for it...!

I assume you can put this in the startup drawer/folder or put a .lnk to it there to start this everytime the phone starts?

You say its customizable with graphics..Is this a whole skin/theme ability or just replacing already existing files ?
And is it possible to have gfx for tapped state as well ? And transparent PNG files ?
If so, I would be really interested in skinning it (once its stable and fast ^^).

And, maybe I get this wrong but what do you mean by "screen lock functionality" ?? Sounds like S2U2 :D

Martin

mmh, its lightwight, of course because it has not much functions, so wait two weeks and we will see because it seems that there is a lock function coming too ;)
The other thing is that you need this and a screenlocker application and a volume control application and and and. with s2u2 you can disable parts of programm. Just my thoughts about another calleer iD.
But maybe usefull for non touch devices or other lockers, as i said.

Running it on ATT Tilt, stock 6.1 rom, with HTC Home Plugin. Works great so far. I like the HTML layout, it can be customized quite easily.

I have been looking for something like this for a while now, I'll test some more and report back.

огромное спасибо!

Going to try on my wizard to see how it works. hopefuly it will rescale my outlook contact photos to something more reasonable.

edit:
Here is a smaller picture for the no caller id.
it is saved as a 2color png in 8bits
weighs less than a kb as oposed to the 7kb in the one you posted.
(This should make a lot the difference with speed as well)

I think that the big difference is that it is so lightweight.
You can have as many pictures as you want for your people on storage card without making PIMVOL as huge as mine (1.5mb) and only for few contacts!
can you immagine if I had pictures for ALL of my 200+ contacts??? that would probably add up to 5mb!

here is what happened on my wizard:
installed ran testcalled from a friends phone.

at the top of the screen I got 3 pictures (same ones from my outlook. under it the blue screen. under that the standard windows mobile bubble.

I think that there needs to be some kind of a scaling engine for outlook photos. at least double size. and the background needs to change from the scarry blue to a black or very dark grey.

looking forward to an update. thanks for trying to tackle a problem that many cant seem to care about :)

Well, I found also how to change the color:

.callername
{
color:#003F87;
font-size: 180%; font-weight: bold;
}
.callernumber
{
color:#003F87;
font-size: 180%;

But I have an error when I try to stop iCaller (see attachement, even if it's in Italian) or I try to launch with -nonotify option.

What is the language of your WinMobile system? You need to check what are the sSysCallerWndTitle and sSysCallerWndClass options in settings.ini file. sSysCallerWndTitle should contain exactly the name of old Incoming Call screen.

Yep, for some reason HTMLView doesn't show background image correctly if it is set to no-repeat. So it has repeat-x for now. I'm fighting this problem, have some progress.

I'll tune the skin too :)

TB,

I tried the new version last night and it's not working properly anymore. When a call comes in the iCaller screen briefly flashes up but then it goes back to the default caller ID screen. My titlebar says Phone - Incoming without the ... and I then edited settings.ini accordingly, but it still doesn't work.

Ideas?

Do you plan to have the pictures pull from the outlook settings?

It does pull them from your Contact's Outlook information. It's an option to have it use them stored on your storage card.

It's explained in the Readme.html file:

iCaller looks for contact picture in the following order:

First look into Pictures Folder for an image file which name equals to the caller number, e.g. '7468374.jpg'
If no picture found, look into Pictures Folder for an image file which name equals to the caller name, e.g. 'John, Smith.jpg'
If still no picture, try to get picture from Pocket Outlook database

I tried every versions of S2u2 from start version.
It 's very good caller id function but since I 've got more than 2500 contacts with I think more than 100 contacts with picture. Then, sometimes it freeze my Touch Dual when someone calls. my pim file 's size is 13 mb.

Averagely, about 5 or 6 times a day. So, I can't stand.
Now, I m using caller id function in Inesoft Phone 4.1. It's working fine and also skinnable. Only one problem is it's take about 3-4 mins on initializing at startup.

I hope this skinable iCaller will be worth to try.

aight... burt... iCaller works great, i managed to move stuff around and get a full ID screen with no Dialog from the original dialer and with info on the caller.

the only problems are, that if the picture is not big enough it'll tile it instead of centering it... and that it doesn't receive black as a color and makes it transparent so the picture looks really strange.

other than that it's perfect.. and lightweight.
thx

OK I need to know what exactly is the Manila (TouchFlo3D) sSysCallerWndClass and sSysCallerWndTitle for Callerid? The reason why I ask is because I'm playing with some small code to hide the Manila Caller ID on my TP so my 3rd party CallerID soft is the only one showing. :)

Sorry I think this is usefull info I cant seem to find anywhare and have tried various Class Titles to include "Phone - Icoming".

You sir are a genius... :) or I am an idiot, either one. That fixed the issue of the old callerID showing up in front.

Q: how about a semi transparent box behind the caller information? Right now if a person's picture has white in it, the text is hard to read. Perhaps a darker semitransparent box behind the info would help out? I'm sure it can be done in the html, can someone point me in the right direction?

does your old windows actually have the "..." at the end? mine didn't, once i took those off it works properly...

on another note, icaller was acting very strange yesterday. When my brother called, it showed his picture, and number, but displayed his name as "Unknown". His name is entered correctly in contacts, has unknown nowhere in his information.
Then on every other call I received last night, no picture would show up, only the answer/ignore bar, so therefore no name or number could be seen.

I cant seem to get this to work well on my Diamond Pro.. The images don’t resize to the screen and it will not stop the stock caller ID from coming up.. I changed the name in the settings.ini and still nothing. It would also be nice to have buttons to accept and deny calls like the stock screen.

I've been using this app for a couple of days now. One issue to report:

The caller name does not get displayed, it always comes in as Unknown. The caller phone number is displayed, as well as the other 2 lines of text bellow the phone number. The picture is displayed properly, and it looks great.

Since most of m incoming callers don't have pics in the outlook database, it presents a problem, since no name is pulled from the outlook contacts.

I remember S2U2 had a similar issue in its early days, but it got fixed.

This app has great potential!

I've prepared a test build which generates a log file with some useful information. Could you please try it and check if the problem still exists? Send me the iCaller.log file then.

Usage:

3. Stop iCaller

Thanks for the log!

First of all, you have
sSysCallerWndTitle = Phone - Incoming...
in your settings.ini, while on your device default window has 'Phone - Incoming' title, without the dots. Please change it to
sSysCallerWndTitle = Phone - Incoming
and restart iCaller.

Secondly, I'm wondering if a standard Icoming Call window on Smartphones is full-screen or not? May I see a screenshot of an incoming call, cause I'm not able to make cellular emulator work with smartphone emulator yet.

Also, when I start iCaller there is no notification of it starting either.

Smartphone caller id screens (outgoing, during, and incoming) are all full screen with the exception of the top and bottom bars. I can't attach an example right now because I've got the wrong phonecanvas installed on my device. However your original alpha/beta did work. I'm working on it... There is a strange bug with HTMLView, where bg image just disappears when background-repeat: no-repeat is set. A workaround is to create two side rows (left and right) with a solid color background, which will cut the picture by sides.

Many thanks for your effort!

Some special processing will be required to get iCaller work with Manila, I'll do that for the next update. Thanks for the reports!

It takes up to two rings (my default ring is a phone ring) before the actual image displays. I instantly get the Answer/Ignore menubar at the bottom though.

See attached images. Also note that the screen doesn't look right.

I'll take care of the speed in the next version (btw, logging function also takes some time). As for the screen look, please replace default.thm with the one from iCaller0.1.0.2.

does your old windows actually have the "..." at the end? mine didn't, once i took those off it works properly...

Same here, except that the callerID picture did not show up until about the sixth ring...

Really like the app, but will wait for further development.

burt, just for a feedback..
it works great, i changed the HTML code and it fits the settings..
i also put a dir with named pictures exactly 240x320 on my storage card and it reads it well.
also only takes like 200kb of memory.

wonderful application..

on thing i'd like to know... is if there's a way to put a half transparent background (like in S2U2) for the writing and limit the picture to not appear under the writing so the face isn't covered. this would make the writing much easier to read.

you should resize your pictures to fit the screen. right now it tiles the pictures and duplicates them instead of centering.

Here is my iCaller.log. Please take a look at the second call in it.
It took up to six rings, until the complete screen of iCaller was shown. The bad thing is, that my mailbox starts after the seventh ring ;)
My phone is a LG KS20 (WM6.0), and the main app in the background is iFonz 1.1.2.
Maybe this is helpful to you.
Thanks.

Im having luck with my HTC 8525 (at&t) now, and have updated the settings file and also took off the "..." after incoming call..

I get the correct screen but of course with 3 small tiled pictures.
I only get this when I use the picture that is normally assigned to the contact.
(apparently when you let the program use the contact photo, it resizes it to 3 small tiled photos.

IF I take a regular phone pic (camera, not contact photo) and leave it at 2megapixel etc, the picture is huge but does take up the whole screen
(with some light blue mixed into the photo).. I used resco photo viewer to resize the pic to close to 240x320 and it looks basically
full screen now, , there are areas that are normally black in the photo and the light blue background shows through the photo
as if the black area is transparent and lets the blue color wash thru..
can we make the background color transparent so it wont affect the photo?

The only way I can get normal sized photos to show is
to NOT use the regularly assigned contact photo and use a totally different photo (or resize the contact photo)
to 240x320 and is named 15555551212.jpg (or whatever the phone # is for the contact)
and then I can at least get the full sized photos to show (with some colors messed up,, but its working better now)

I have been scouring the internet for some application like this for ages.

I was testing the earlier version 1.0.2 and found it quite ok.

Want to try this.

Would you be able to update a sort of a changelog on the first post?

For example, in order to use boxed.thm, do I have to rename this to default.thm. I am guessing and will experiment, but your update on changelog would have saved the hassle!

You don't have to rename it, just open settings.ini with a text editor (e.g. Notepad on your PC), and change "sTheme = default" to "sTheme = boxed" there, then restart iCaller.

what's your device's interface language? you need to change from "Phone - Incoming..." to whatever's written on your incoming call window when you receive a call.

btw.. I don't recommend applying pictures to contacts using S2V if they're in high resolution because it slows down iContact if you have a decent amount of contacts and it generally slows down reading contacts in outlook.

I've just posted iContact BE 6.5 beta (http://www.truburt.net/index.php?option=com_phocadownload&view=category&id=2:beta-versions&Itemid=3).

It now includes ability to assign pictures to contacts: go to details of a contact, click on the picture icon and pick a picture.

Look into the settings, there are 5 new options available on Contact Pictures tab:

1. Enable Picture Saving - to enable this feature
2. Save Pictures to File - if yes, pictures will be resized to full-screen and saved to a file, named by File As property of a contact (name of a contact)
3. Target Folder - folder to store pictures in if Save Pictures to File is enabled
4. Save Pictures to Outlook DB - if yes, thumbnail of the picture will be added to contact in Outlook database
5. Minimize Outlook Picture Size - makes saved thumbnail not greater than 64x64 pixels

So now you have a nice way to prepare photos for iCaller:

1. Enable 'Save Pictures to File' option
2. Set appropriate picture folder in 'Target Folder', e.g. \Storage Card\Caller Pictures

It's in beta status now, but everything should work fine already.

Why restrict the size of the images being saved to Outlook? Other applications, such as EnCallio, save them in nearly any size. I'd like to have the Save Pictures to Outlook DB be able to resize images automatically to 240x320 or other standard full screen sizes.

Also...I prefer to keep them to the Outlook DB because the pictures will then show up in all applications since that's a point of commonality.

While 1.0.2 works quite ok on my XPERIA, with 1.0.3 the whole picture and caller name is jumping out of the screen to the right side. (what should be exactly center of the screen is aligned to the right side, so showing only half of the picture and name).

i hope you can understand what i mean ;-)

/edit: must be a problem with the .thm files. when i use the .thm file from 1.0.2. everything is ok

/edit2: made my own minimalistic caller screen .thm and german.lng now, since i don't use pictures at all. works faster as well. :-)

I like others have been searching for this type of app for quite some time, and finally someone has stepped up to the plate. Thanks for all your efforts. I do however have an issue that I have not seen you address that others appear to be having as well. If a picture contains a pure black color, that part of the image in iCaller becomes transparent. Do you foresee a resolution to this issue, as a lot of my contact pictures are logo-like images on black backgrounds.

Hi truburt,

Thanks for a great app! One suggestion. I also had problems with the default screen coming up and changed the settings.ini multiple times to get it fixed. I thought that my phone was one that would be in the "unsupported" category.

Reading threads, the simple but obvious answer to stop and re-start the application solved my problem.

Could you please add this to your readme.html so it is explicit that the application needs to be closed and then re-started for the changes to take effect.

Whilst this is (now) an obvious resolution, it may skip some people.

Cheers,

Would like to have buttons to ans/rej as in htmlcaller, maybe with href. I used standard html to create my own them and no css-jscript. Would love to have a option like "-test" to test a theme without calling my phone to test it.

Uncompress mytheme.zip and use the falak.thm inside it.
update setting.ini (theme = falak) to use

Hi.

I´ve got a problem with iCaller with my "german Samsung i900 Omnia".
I localiced the Incoming Call window in the settings.ini. The programm works, but the pictures of my contacts are very small.

At the attachments you can find a screenshot and my settings.ini
I hope you can help me. This program would be so nice :(

Sorry for my poor english :)

Well, i must admit i haven't read the 14 pages of answers... Fell free to grill me if this has been reported/solved... ;)

I've tested you app, modifiyng the settings like you described to make the html page over the default one (My device is in French)... All was working fine, but i've got a minor issue (but important for me...) :
Since all was working with iCaller, i've noticed that hitting the "green phone button" send me an error message, something like :MSCprog can"t open shortcut, or not trusted app...
I wasn't able to change the shortcuts from the "button manager"...
Using SKTools, i've noticed that the :MSCPROG key was missing...
I've been obliged to rebuid the key to make the "green button" working again...

It seems that iCaller have erased the key in the registry...

Is it an unwanted feature of iCaller... or a bug ??

Anyway, you app look really good, and greatly covers the shame of the default incoming call windows :D

Its all in the theme, size/font/background etc. Use the theme I have given. It sets height of the caller picture to 170px. The only change needed in your settings.ini
sTheme = falak
download falak.zip, rename to falak.thm to icaller folder in the phone using activesync.
copy the updated setting.ini

restart icaller

unzip falak.zip to see the html file. If you know html then u can customize this a lot.

Updated my earlier post with a zip file which contains a folder having falak.thm. I think uploading causes the issue with the file which cannot be loaded. I checked it on my xda and its working.

Would like to add, use s2v (from here somewhere, do a search) to add your contacts pictures since the normal outlook one use low resolution so callerID wont come nice. Using S2V it comes good.

Out of curiosity what app are you guys using to resize your pics?

I just do it on the net at
www.picresize.com

Upload your pic, change the values to 240x320 and upload it to my phone in my contacts folder.

Just my 2 cents: Then I use S2V to assign to contact and this app works GREAT.

It works :)

But the height of the picture is to big and not at 250 pixel. So the picture comes a little bit into the telefonnumber and Name -> this looks ugly :)

In your theme you want to skale it to 250 pixels, but I think it isn´t working.

Now I´ve written my own skin based on the defaultskin. But now pictures in landscape-size are to wide...
I know you have a java-code to correct this on your default, but how I said, I´ve got a problem with the height.

I hope you understand what I mean. Can you help me?

PS: In the attachment I´ve added a screenshot of my theme. I like it, but the problem with the width sucks...

PPS: Sorry, I know, my english isn´t the best :)

Hi All,

So far I just LOVE this app.

Need some help on two things:
1. I have mapped Birthday AND Anniversary dates in the layout.html
a. Am not good with HTML coding.
b. Can someone help me with the code to insert a label before some contact details? for e.g, I want to show the word 'B'day' before the birthday data when the call comes in. So it would show as "B'day: 01,January,1980" on the screen when a call comes from this person. Currently it shows 01,January,1980 (and I wonder if its birthday OR anniversary if there is a single entry for this contact)

2. A code similar (for e.g $POOMPROP(PIMPR_BIRTHDAY) is for the birthday field) which can be used to fetch data from Outlook Contact Notes.

Thanks a ton to all.

I think your problem is, that you haven´t localized "Phone - Incoming..." to your localized name of system default Incoming Call window. (for my german omnia it is "Eingehender Anruf")

The value of sShowStartNotification is only that window, which pops up, when you start iCaller or stop it.

I've tried icaller new version for 2 days. It's the best caller id app compared to inesoft or photo contact or even s2u2 because in my case I 've more than 2,500 contacts in add.book .it takes so long time in initialing the program and always hang up after several calls.

For icaller, i faced one problem that during call, someone call in , I can't see the caller id who is calling until I end the first call or let them miss call and see the no. in call history.

Anyway to solve this?

Thanks for this little application. It works well on my mio a510 device. The only thing I would sugest it to introduce some sort of scaling of the pictures, so that the one frome the outlook contacts to be displayed full screen. This is the only down side of this fast little program. The possibility of having the Caller Pictures folder should be kept for those who want to have different pictures for different numbers.
Thanks for the time and effort you used in developing this application

I tried the same thing, for Touch Diamond, but to no avail. My phone's resolution is 480x640, but this app seems to assume it's 240x320. I tried images that size and they fit perfectly.

nav.it.singh
8th February 2009, 01:30 AM
Many thanks to truburt for this app. I created 480x480 images for standard caller ID photos, and 240x320 images for the current version of iCaller, and 480x640 for a possible future version that may support the size (Diamond). Tedious, I know, but the process was made simpler by creating the larger and resizing them for the smaller. Here's my theme file and I'll include 2 Photoshop templates for creating caller ID photos, depending on whether you want to create the 240 or 480 images.

nav.it.singh
9th February 2009, 04:02 AM
I should also note that creating the CallerID images with the Photoshop template I posted above is essential for the theme to work properly, as I don't use background colours to ensure that the caller information is readable. The overlay is positioned exactly so that the text fits perfectly when displaying name, phone number, and company. Not having company is also fine.

Why restrict the size of the images being saved to Outlook? Other applications, such as EnCallio, save them in nearly any size. I'd like to have the Save Pictures to Outlook DB be able to resize images automatically to 240x320 or other standard full screen sizes.

It would be nice to have iCaller automatically scale up/down images to fit the full size iCaller wants to display.

Agreed. For Windows Mobile, it needs to be lean in size and fast. Seems like anything too big in size or processing requirements causes delays in ring notifications, etc. Don't know why this issue has never been solved since the very first version of Windows Mobile with phone capability.

I find that S2U2s full screen caller ID is actually okay. But it's not a standalone.

Hey guys,
I'm using the xperia, and this version of iCaller didn't work correctly on my phone.
When sombody called me, the picture and the number wasn't in the center of the screen, and I only saw half of the number.
I fixed this problem (thanks to phenx, who gave me the advise), changed the background for people without a picture (xperia style) and made the font for the caller information bigger.
and i translated the program to german.
if you want and if its ok with the programmer i can upload the fixed and modfied version in german and english.

When sombody called me, the picture and the number wasn't in the center of the screen, and I only saw half of the number.

Out of curiosity what app are you guys using to resize your pics?I use The Gimp. It's faster than doing it with whatever app on the PDA itself.

Now follows a little more elaborate report :-)

I was about to install those two Russian hogs by Iconsoft and Inesoft to try them out. Just moments before that I found iCaller and tried it on my little Touch, because that was basically all I really needed and free memory was getting smaller. (Also, the websites of PhoneEx et al. looked a little like pr0n sites with all those babes in the example screenies which made me suspicious ^^)

After a few adjustments in the settings and changing the picture path to \\My Documents\\Pictures\\Contacts it worked like a charm (with one backslash I got the small Outlook thumbs, then I remembered my programing days and how one had to escape backslashes). Perhaps you should add a comment about that to settings.ini, and also about where iCaller looks if it is set to look on the device for pictures, if the setting only names a single folder name like "Contact pictures". I didn't know that and hence used an absolute path to be sure.

I've read through all pages of this thread and so far did not encounter any of the problems the others had, though time might tell me more. Only I noticed that when the caller screen was up and I wanted to make a screenshot, I couldn't open QuickMenu; it shortly appeared and then disappeared again.

So, long story short: great app, dude. Keep it coming. :-)

PS, I also have a feature request: I'd like to have a preview mode, so I don't have to ask my buddies over and over again to ring me just to see how my new theme would look like. Perhaps set up a string in settings.ini with the number for the phony call, add a new parameter -test and iCaller reacts as if it was triggered by an incoming call from that number.

It would be nice to have iCaller automatically scale up/down images to fit the full size iCaller wants to display.

After a hard reset I reinstalled iCaller and placed the iCaller shortcut in the Windows/Startup folder but it tells me the file is corrup tor unsigned. The program starts properly when I start it manually, but I need help with the automatic start. Please assist.
-
UPDATE 3/27/09: Problem Solved
-
After a few days of frustration I experimented.
-
1. The iCaller program started and stopped in the Programs folder. The shortcut I placed in Windows/Startup wouldn't. BOOOOO!
-
2. iCaller Stop started and stopped the program. I placed a shortcut in Windows/Startup and it continued to work manually and automatically after a soft reset. YEAH!!!!
-
3. I renamed this shortcut iCaller Startup. Everything works properly. I then placed a copy into the original iCaller zip for future use.
-
4. Bonus - I also placed a copy of my updated settings in the original zip file so I don't have to repeat the set up steps everytime.

PEACE!

Call your phone with the program stopped. When the caller notification pops up it will say on top of the standard box.

But when I lock keys incomming call doesn't show the image caller.

Any idea?

Thanks

I like how you customize the look of the incoming calls with iCaller but the call waiting not showing who's calling was bugging me so I just threw together a dirty fix for it real quick using mortscript. It's not perfect but it works for me till it gets fixed or something better comes out.

The script checks if the phone app is open and disables iCaller and restarts it when you close the phone app. So when the phone app is open, the stock WM caller ID will show. It isn't perfect but I'm assuming this will work at least 90% of the time.

Known Issues:
-If you close the phone app during a call it will reenable iCaller.
-iCaller will be disabled when viewing the call history.
-The script might disable iCaller for programs that start with "Phone" in the windows title.

The script was written to check for English text. It checks for "Phone" and "Phone - Incoming" in the window titles so you may need to modify it if your phone shows different. The script also assumes iCaller is installed in main memory inside "/Program Files/iCaller/".

Instructions:
There are 3 files inside the zip file. Copy "iCaller start.lnk" to "/Program Files/iCaller" and the other 2 files can be placed wherever you want. "krzdisableduringcall.mscr" starts the script and "krzdisableduringcallstop.mscr" will stop it.

Hi,

I've tried this version, and it's a bit flaky.
It works sometimes and it doesn't work sometimes.

I'll do some more changes to the settings.ini and check.
But, out of curiosity, how is this version different from the others?
Is the source code for this app available?

Hello people,

my friend and I crated style for icaller for xperia(wm6.1), it is nothing special but I want to share with you. It is also has translation for Croatian (Hrvatski), it can recognize the type of call (mobile, home, work...), it can recognize the address, it can recognize the picture and of course he shows the name and number.
And it can recognize if mobile is in portrait or landscape position.
Here is the picture how it looks:

And you can download it form www.k2net.info (http://www.k2net.info/)

It worked for me(the auto hide), unfortunately it has still this strange behavior:

The pictures left side starts at the center of the screen, goes to the right and continues from the left side of the screen to the cetner. (i hope u understand me) Also the contact information.

I have customized the version of iCaller that I use on my phone to display what state the person is calling from. This can be useful when someone calls you from an unknown number. It is based on iCaller 0.1.0.2.

To use the theme, download "ram.thm" file. Also, make sure that you change the theme in your "settings.ini" file from "default" to "ram".

I have more changes planned. Feed back is welcome.

I am testing it out on te Samsung Jack and seems to be working good so far.

Observations:
1. My pictures are not "full screen" (which is the only reason I tried the app out :D), they under half the size of the screen. Still bigger than oem though lol.
2. There is a 2-5 sec delay between the phone lighting up (receiving call) and when the icaller begins to work. I have my pic stored on the storage card.
3. To activate the app, I find it via File Explorer and select it. It seems that it freezes my phone for a good 20-30 seconds before I am able to navigat again. I can hit the home key though.

Hope this helps :D

Working great on my HTC Diamond 1. My caller pictures are 480x640, but they are not showing on full screen. I think pictures are scaled so the text is visible on black background. Is this how the program works? How about a full screen picture and text overlapping it. And if the text is not clear there could some effect applied to it-dark background, glowing letters:)

I think it would be a good idea to put a size variable in the settings file so the users could choose how big they want the image. Also "Full Screen" mode should get rid of the "Accept /Reject" butons on the bottom of the screen which currently isnt happening.

iCaller v0.1.0.3 alpha

Note!

Stop and restart iCaller each time you modify the settings.ini file!
i already install this application.. since look its dosent work on my x1.. only text have appear bigger on top.. but pic still not shown.. only standard background... & normal id still appear as standart.. pls help me.. tq

The version 0.1.0.7 works fine on WM 6.5.x. There is an issue i.e. iCaller appears after 3-5 seconds after call instead of immediately.

Secondly it would be perfect if answer and end call buttons are at the bottom of the screen.

Please let me know if you need the buttons.
