Great application ...
Hopefully the author will check back in soon. I could use a feature change/enhancement:
Option Box:
Enabled For On Screen Keyboard
Enabled For Dialer
Enabled For On-Screen Keyboard & Dialer

If you manage to create an OEM, please do share (and send me a PM). I can convert CABs all day long just fine with few exceptions and this app is one. I've not been able to cook it after many attempts.

+1, i cannot seem to create a working OEM for this. I manage to copy all files to their correct place and add all registries (i think), and it still wont work, i must be missing something. Maybe the OP could point us in the right direction.

I'd like to store my touchresponse settings (meaning my choice for duration of vibrate and other options) so that if I reflash I can bring them back automatically.
Are the settings stored in the registry?
What would I put into SASHIMI's auto section, other than installing the cab, to get touchresponse working as it is now?

Hi there, I noticed that the installation of touchResponse_v0_3_2 will disable Transcriber. Wonder if this is indeed the function or it is a bud......?

Hi.
Sorry for my English :o.
Thanks for great program. TouchResponse works fine for me on Raphael 1.90.411.3 RUS ROM.
I found a bug (or feature :) may be). Sorry if it's already known. If device boots up with stylus out, than option "Disabled when stylus is out" does not operate, i.e. device vibrating on touch, until you insert stylus in and out.
And also would be nice an option like "DISABLED only for On-Screen Keyboard".
Thnx.
I would like that too! Great program up to now!

Not sure if this project is still active, but when using this program (wich i love) it dissables the touch flo completely it wont launch the app at all, but even worse, the R3a panel manager crashes while using this program on the Xperia X1. hope there is any way of fixing this bcause im 100% dependent on being able to switch panels.

I had a problem after installing WM6.5 with your software built in on my T Mobile MDA IV. The screen allignment itself got in accurate and was hard to pass that screen on initialization. Finally when it started, it got stuck on the lock screen.
Then I changed back to WM6.1 and I couldnt go through the screen alignment. I tried everything and thought there may be a hardware problem.
After a month I put back WM6.5 to try if it works and guess what after a couple of tries it passed the screen allignment.
However your software identifies my device as HTC P4600 and I believe this may cause some problems, as I have learned all the different variants of touch pro are not exactly same.
Can you guide me how I can completely get rid of all the settings and maybe get my phone to work normally again.

TouchResponse is a great app and appears to have most bugs worked out prior to not hearing from Snailslug.

This program is a touch driver to handle the touchscreen presses and vibration. A settings program exists to configure how the vibration works.
Since this is a touch driver, there is no program you need to run to start it.
It has been tested on an HTC Touch and HTC Touch Pro for several days with several stability issues corrected...............
I tried but I have a problem with settings icons the program change the name of all them and never work for disable the vibration on the telephone touch pad. :(

Delete TouchResponse and soft reset. See if vibrate works.
As far as I know, there has not been any issues regarding TouchResponse burning out vibration motors.
I guess there is always a first time BUT
vibration motors have been known to stop working due to manufacturing defects.
You can maybe google your device and see if there are any known vibration motor issues.

Either accept the possibility that your phone's vibrator is dead, or hard reset your phone (wipes all the memory and restores it to the *new* state)

So, has anyone gotten this to work on the eten500 or pharos 600? It's recognized as ENPV03 but when i use my device, it doesn't vibrate. My buttons still work, and I can still use my touchscreen unlike some of the problems I read about here. It just doesn't work. The vibrate when touched function works with fingerkeyboard and when i get calls, so I think the device it is set at is wrong, but I cant change the device as it was already recognized.

I installed this yesterday on my stock TP and it's AWESOME!!
I've noticed one thing though and I'm curious if it has to do with TouchResponse or just a coincidence:
My phone no longer recognizes my stock AC Charger and Sprint Car Charger. My USB charger that I have on the computer works fine and a 3rd party docking charger also works.
Any known cases of this being an issue?
EDIT: I uninstalled TouchResponse and the problem still exists, so that pretty much rules out this app being the cause. Yes! now I can reinstall.

@snailslug: Thanks for the great app!
A suggestion if i may .. Any chance of adding a feature to vibrate when an outgoing call is answered? There is an app already that accomplishes this, but it was only written for Samsung phones and, like many others, don't have a Samsung (I have an HTC TyTN-II).
For more details, here are some links for the Samsung "Connecting Notifier" ..

Works great on Touch Diamond 2. I hope this gets updated as I would love an include/exclude list. I like a response of 20ms for most stuff but 35-40ms when using the keyboard. With finger keyboard 2.1, I can adjust the response time for haptic feedback too... but this app over the keyboard vibration feels too weird.... I would like to turn it off just for the keyboard....
Great app though! Thanks so much for the development :)

Hopefully he will be back and will be very happy regarding the overwhelming positive feedback TouchResponse is receiving :)

Installed on a TouchPro and works very well. If should wish something that would be a little more granularity on choosing when it is enabled and when not (or perhaps it is just me who hasn't found the right combination of options).
I would like to vibrate only for the on-screen keyboard, telephone keypad and the two soft keys at the bototm of the screen. However it seems like either it vibrates on everything (also menu, dialogs, etc.) or it vibrates only for the on-screen keyboard (and not for the phone numeric keypad).
My settings are:
[X] Disabed during phone call (I guess this is valid only after a call is established?)
[ ] Disabled when Volume on SIlent
[X] Disabled when stilus is out
[X] Disabled when device is Locked
[X] Enabled only for On-Screen Keyboard
If I remove the check on the last setting then it viobrates for everything, so probably I would like to see at least one more option: "Enabled for Phone numeric keypad".
Thanks

just wanted to report that TouchResponse doesn't work properly in Windows Mobile 6.5 build 23037 (and probably any build over 23028, ie. the ones with the new Start Menu down the bottom).
Basically stops you from being able to type fast or tap-select items quickly.
Disabling TouchResponse by changing HKLM/hardware/devicemap/touch/devicename from TouchResponse.dll back to Touch.dll "fixed" the issue...

Hopefully Snailslug sees how much everyone is enjoying his application,
and how trouble free it is working.
With the new operating systems and upgrades of existing OS coming out, I am sure that a few tweaks may have to be made to enable TouchResponse to be compatible with them.
Hopefully, Snailslug will be here to work his magic :)

Working great on my Titan II, however I did find a rather unlucky bug!
If you toch the screen while another alert is going off like sms email, or phone is ringing, touch response stops the phone vibrating.
Where this becomes a problem is when your walking down the street with your phone in you pocket or purse. The first tap on the screen (when your phone starts to ring ect) the vibration completely, and you miss your call. (you dont realise how much your sreen is being tapped in your pocket simply from the motion of walking!)
I have missed a few calls now in the past two days, because I cant hear the ringing over traffic noise in the street, and rely on the device to vibrate where its loud, and at work, when its set to vibrate only.
Love the programme, just needs that little tweek!

Hello,
i have the same problem as two other people in the forum.
Installation works fine, software recognize is as eten x650v01,
but the upper side of the touch didnīt work correct.
So, no copy&paste or so is possible.
Here again the fault description, copied from the other user:
user1:
when i have it enabled for full functionality (not just keyboard)
the top quarter of the screen picks up my taps as holds and presses
the screen as many times as it vibrates. my phone is eten x600.
i use spb shell software
user2:
Been trying this on an Eten M800 - works great straight after install.
There does seem to be one issue though - if you press and hold anywhere
in the top third of the screen, the device rapidly vibrates and act's
like you are rapidly tapping the screen. Apart from that, it's awesome.
Nice work!
Please help to get it run on Eten devices

01/26/09 - This is just a minor update to fix some issues and add a couple small features.
Feel free to give comments or ask questions.
Thanks!
.3.2 (01/26/09) - Minor update
- Option to disable vibration when device is locked
- AppToDate now supported - Download AppToDate (http://www.apptodate.org/get) to be informed of the latest updates
What is AppToDate? How does it inform you of the latest update? Is it a push notification program or does it regularly check the internet for updates? Does it have any drain on the battery, and can it be fully uninstalled without leaving any trace behind? Thanks.

I installed Touch Response v0.3.2 on my Sprint/HTC Touch Pro running on the original ROM. It worked fine at first, but I noticed that it had disabled the transcriber keyboard. Additionally, after a few soft resets, TouchResponse stopped working. To get it working again, I had to disable it and do a softreset and then re-enable it. So I had to uninstall it. Any way to fix these problems?
One more thing: Is there anyway to program Touch Response to function only on the dial keypad? Thanks.

Hmm, when Touch Response is installed, try doing the following registry, and it may re-enable the Transcriber:
HKCR\CLSID
{F0034DD0.........}\IsSipInputMethod
"Default"="1" - Enabled
"Default"="0" - Disabled
Maybe that'll get it to work. Idk about the phone-only vibrate.

I already removed TouchResponse from my Sprint Touch Pro partly because of the problem with transcriber keyboard. However, the main reason was that Touch Response stops working after a few soft resets. I don't think that your registry hack will solve the main problem. I am not a programmer, but if someone has a Sprint Touch Pro with original ROM, can you find out why Touch Response stops working after a few soft resets? I think a new version of TouchResponse is necessary to address the problems in my first post (# 844) for this thread. Thanks.

I have the Eten Glofiish X600 and I have a problem. I have set the "Vibrate on Touch" in 15 ms but if I hold down the stylus it keeps vibrating. As a result I can not scroll down any list nor the start menu. I am running Window Mobile 6.5.
Has anyone else the same problem?
P.S. I figured out the problem! The problem was the touch driver I had installed.

Just a quick note of warning to HD2 owners. I have a PIN number set for the security, and after installing this, the PIN can't be recognized after it rebooted the phone. I had to do a hard reset and restore everything from a backup.
See my post here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614718).

Sadly, Snailslug has not supported this software in quite a while.
I would suggest to download this software at your own Risk regarding the newer devices.
As you have seen in the previous post, you may have a PITA problem if you download this app with HD2.
Wih the above being said, TouchResponse has worked very well with most devices, without a hitch :)
And what is amazing is that even though there has not been any developement in a while, TouchResponse has worked well with Devices that were not even available at the time Snailslug developed it.
My Helmet is off to Snailslug for a Great Application!!!!
Hopefully he will return :)

I have Acer E101 with WM6.5 and I am facing a problem with vibro duration. For example, I choose vibro on press, with duration 20ms, but it doesn't affect anything. It lasts too long, no matter which duration I've chosen. It works better if I choose 10ms, but vibro is too weak, and sometimes it also starts to work too long. My HTC P3400 doesn't have such problem. Any idea what can it be?

Ok...so I installed...change the settings to no vibrate, but still when I type in the on screen text message it still vibrates?? it also still vibrates when I go across the lower touch flow screen. I also edited the phone setting inside it and change the value to 0, but still cant seem to solve the vibration issue.
Can you think of anything that will help?

Feel free to give comments or ask questions.
Q. Why is the vibration always the same duration no matter what the settings are set at?
A. Use a registry editor to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>OEM>VIB and set STRENGTH_LOW to 0. Thanks to agdaniels for pointing this out. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3134815&postcount=449)
After changing the Registry as mentioned in the above quote, it still vibrates for the same amount of time.
I am using an HTC Vogue (Verizon XV6900).

This app worked fine on my Acer X960 but my Omnia wont work with it - All i get is 2 icons in the install folder that both seem to link to Opera and do nothing. No icon and no file in windows either - anyone got any ideas?
SORTED IT - I had to select "show all Files" and then I could see the file that lets you set its options. Still cant see why some xml files are showing that they open with Opera.

Hi,
I wanted to use TouchResponse to create a very short or feeble vibrate on a Touch Pro 2. This program appears to do that. I am afraid I do not know what to do with program once downloaded. How to transfer it to device (though I have done this for commercial programs). Sorry so ignorant. Perhaps point me to some site. Thanks

Question:
Why does the touchresponse installer throw up a "would you like to reset" dialog box where nearly every other software has the OS ask that question.
I ask because Sashimi is able to suppress that question until after it runs, but cannot prevent the touchresponse installer from demanding human supervision.
Is it possible to fix this?

Hello!
How about making the programme compatible to other programmes like:
- S2U2 ( Iīve seen that the version 0.3.2 has an option to disable when the device is locked but on my x1i it still does when s2u2 is locked)
- GAlarm ( would be great to disable it while the Alarm is ringing, because it vibrates it sel)
Also it would be great if it could vibrate different ( e.g. Different vibratings when window is closed/opened)
These are just some ideas!
I love this Programm!!!
I remember when samsung first put that feature on their F700 (it was kind of a revolution, that the screen gives feedback like hardware buttons),
and @ Win Mobile you just need a programme ;)
Yes, yes please!

Hello ,
Recently i tried some "interesting looking" sound/music apps on my SAMSUNG OMNIA PRO GT-B7610 ( WM 6.1 ) , and ended up with a weakened Heptic Feedback . Probably registry files got corrupted .
Program "close" [X] or "open" , phonebook scroll ... the heptic feel is now 20% of what it used to be .
Please could anyone suggest how to INCREASE the feedback strength , by a Registry Hack ? I use "Resco Registry" .
Please help someone ...
