Hi!
The screen of my Prophet works correctly.
After I've installed a contributed rom, my device boots correctly (after hard reset) and then ask me to align screen but just after I tap to enter in align procedure, it didn't give response anymore! So it enter (tapping the screen) in the align procedure, but then no repond any nore!
I tried to install other roms but... nothing to do: the is always exactly the same:-((
What can I do? Go back to WM5?
What's the correct procedure? I didn't found it...

Now I've installed NVID rom
but when appears "tap here to set up your Windows Mobile-based device" I tap on the screen (so touchscreen works) then pass to "align screen"
here if I touch normally it didn't work but if I press and move a little the pen on the cross (like designing very little circle) it works.
After alignment procedure, Prophet seems to works regularly, I mean I just nee to simply touch screen and it works.
Do you think it's the beginning of an hardware problem?

this happened to me as well. i can't touch the centre cross hair, but can with my finger, the other cross hair i can tap with the stylus. also on the keyboard, i can't tap esp the no. 8 & few letters below it esp G.
still happens to me even with another rom. don't know how to correct it. i guess a new screen is the key... or get a new pda - i'm waiting for my touch pro!!

Yep, it seem like it don't receive a spot area touch, but only wide area touch.
But this appens to me for «all» roms I tested and «only» for alignment procedure!
After I get screen aligned, it works perfectly, and seems to have normal sensitivity.
The problem is only for align procedure!
But it sounds strange that you can't use "8" or "g": it seems really a problem with touchscreen or maybe it is to clean a little.
But you are a lucky man! Touch pro is coming in your hands...
Bye
