I have both TomTom 7 and iGO 8 installed in my X7510. I noticed that everytime I want to use TomTom 7 or iGO 8, I have to wait a couple of minutes for the GPS Signal to actually connect or get a lock.
The original solution I used to do was activate another application that uses GPS first such as WiFiFoFum, GPS Gate, Google Maps, etc... and leave them running in the background before I activate either TomTom 7 or iGO8. The result was miraculous, INSTANT GPS SIGNAL FOUND and LOCK in a few seconds. No more long minutes of wait. :)
Recently, I found "GPS Toggle", a wonderful today application and it does the job by Toggling GPS signal ON and OFF with just one click on the today screen.
So basically, if you want an immediate GPS Signal found and LOCK IMMEDIATELY using TomTom 7 and iGO 8, use GPS Toggle to turn the GPS ON first, then launch TomTom 7 or iGO 8. If you prefer to leave the GPS ON, it is up to you, but it might drain your battery faster.
