Hi, I currently have tomtom 7 on michy 6.1 on SPL 1.2 x7501. Just wandering if anyone has found a version of tomtom to be faster at refreshing/drawing screen than all the others? ATM mine is ok (though speech can be a bit stuttered and gappy), but I do notice refresh rate of screen is not perfect. Will notice it blinking when drawing screen.

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, am searching the forums as I type!

Thanks

could u describe more details about what u need? i read but still don;t know exactly what u want?

I am using TT7.45 and map of North America. It works like a rabbit now (after some days of fixing the error that gps did not start).

I only don't really happy with present condition is that, some time, TT7 doesn't show whole picture in about 1 second,at that time, my car on the screen looks like it is staying in a raw map without clear instruction, and it refresh asap after that. But others work well. The voice guide is very good which never let u go wrong cos it will notice u always about 1/5 mile before the destination or before turning.

I also have slow screen drawing in tomtom 7.
I guess it's related to the difficulties the Athena has to provide a smooth experience in drawing VGA content on its screen. It's CPU power is fast enough but the drawing is always quite troublesome when you need some speed.

if you can get tomtom 7.451 then i think i would work better as that is vga and for the diamond. 7.45 is qvga which might explan the drawing issue. I had 7.45 and had the same issue but im on 7.451 and it works great although i am using the touch pro now so that might be part of the reason. still give it a try

Have you tried portrait, rather than landscape mode? I am told that TT prefers the former and that screen re-draws are better in portrait

hmm... is odd to hear this, since i use tomtom 7.45xxxx almost on a daily basis, and never had problem with the screen refresh, is very very accurate for me, and the auto zoom out, and zoom in, works perfectly.

We are not questioning the accuracy or the zoom functions, just the screen refresh rate.
