I have done scroslers custom rom and used the agps fix with the ability to use it in google maps. However no matter what gps program I find to use on my phone I cant get it to find any satellites. Wondered who here might be able to tell me how they were able to make it work with something other than google maps in the USA. Any help would be nice to have, Thanks.

Ok I had been asking this same question in a couple of places and found the answer. I figured since no one here was able to give it I should help others who find the same problem.
The answer is to install another program called Franson's GpsGate. This utilizes the ports and allows all outside programs to see it and use it. This then enables the use for the program and everything then works.

I suspect that most applications require the GPS Intermediate Driver API, and not just hardware access to the GPS device. I believe that this was left out of the DCD ROM that scrosler uses, in order to save on memory. My guess is that Google Maps works fine with just hardware/com port access to a GPS device.

I use DCD's 3.3.4 and about 5 different programs. Some will ask which COM port the GPS is on. Set it to Com 4 and it should work. Some others map through windows mobile.
I use TomTom, GoogleMaps, LiveSearch, and GeoScout with out any issues.

Garmin and IG0 require no intermediate driver and are very simple to use. However if you got the software illegally from a torrent then all the technical data you need to run the software doesn't exist. Some people might know how to make it still work.
