What do they do?
Whats different from the stock roms?

speed and battery life those are the main thing that keeps people going to custom roms. those are the main reason.

Don't forget not having any of the bloatware carriers add to the OS ;)

A lot of difference.
1. unlocked GPS to use with Google maps, Live search, TomTom ETC.
2. better memory managment
3. custom dialer skins
4. updated OS kernal
5. No bloatware, you can find just about any utility on here that you need.
6. More than 4 gig SD card, should recognize up to 8 gig with custom ROM.
7. updated radio ROMs and aGPS if you are on Sprint or Verizon.

In summary, if you flash a custom rom successfully and it works well for you, you will never return to an oem rom again. DCD at this point for the titan is the only way to go. Nue rom just is not stable enough and I feel like even though I see more free ram, my device's performance is still not as good as dcd's, not to mentioned a lot less soft resets.
