Hello all,
I've a problem with an XDA Orbit I've recently inherited. It had never been taken out of the box, and was effectively new - but nevertheless would shut down (completely) within a few seconds of being turned on. Once shut down, it would not turn back on unless the battery was removed for a while - not even a hrd reset would help.
The O2 shop said it was a battery problem, but I'm 99% certain this is not the case; if you put it into ROM update mode, it will cheerfully sty on as long sa required. It's only when booting WM that the crash occurs.
As it can go to ROM upgrade, I've tried updating the ROM; this was successful, but the unit still crashes on boot - although it does seem to take a little longer before it goes down.
Anyhow, the question; I remember seeing on here an advert for someone who can replace ROM chips for about 40 quid. Does anyone have any idea who this might have been, or any suggestions for anywhere else to send it? Or, even a fix? :)
Thanks,
-dave
