Messaging does not work after Sprite backup

I just backed up my Treo pro using Sprite backup and Messaging does not work any more. Neither the hardware button nor the icon on programs launch messaging! any body knows how to fix this? I hard reset and recovered with Sprite. everthing else is back but there is no messaging.
