Problems with sound on HTC Touch Diamond

Every now and again I am having problems with the sound on my Touch Diamond. Sometimes when I receive a call there is no ringtone. The phone just vibrates even though the phone is not on silent. When I also make a phone call I can't here the dialing tone on the mobile. The only way to rectify this problem is to switch my phone off and on again. I've spoken to orange and they've told me to clear the storage and reboot. I do not want to do this as I do not want to lose my files such as tomtom, pictures etc. Any ideas?

why don you flash a custom ROM you wont need to clean your flash memory. :) Try dutty's ROMs those are the bost ROMS around.

Please dont ask how, refer to the Diamond ROM forum and read the stickies. :)
