Maybe useful to somebody else. Heres my experience. Bought my spv m700 off ebay knowing it had a fault- not charging turned out no usb comms either. After opening it up following a guide looked for fault. I needed an eyeglass to see the components. An educated guess and a bit of smd research (which told me nothing btw!) suspected green component with a 0 marked on it, just right of usb port & literally 2mm long. Turns out it was open circuit. Not entirely sure what the component was I had a look at a scrap board I had lying around with a mini usb on it 3 other components had 0 marked on them measured them and they were all 0 ohms( suspect they are links /fusible links or fuses). With some careful de-soldering removed the good one. I fitted it on the trinity ( easiest way solder a short wire to new smd fuse and then using wire to manipulate smd fuse solder onto near end of diode and then solder wire onto duff fuse (end nearest edge of pcb) and it nows charges/syncs as it should letting me use the hard spl's, wm6 rom and radio roms this forum provides-cheers : )

I also have a spv m700 which does not seem to charge, I have put a new battery in and the red light comes on then changes to orange flashing when I plug it in but it fails to charge, I can sync with active sync. Please help as I dont want to ditch the phone
