well if your going to post a link with a different url to what's displayed and then taunt the guy who has asked a perfectly civil question that just makes the lot of you (Lady garden cleansing product that is dispensed in bags)....

this is a major bugbear to me too and although if i search for it i'll get loads of threads to trawal though the chances are none of them will come back with THE definitive answer.
Can't we have a sticky thread with original questions and just the correct answer thats been confirmed posts in them :)

I've not been long a member of this site but I tell you, it's almost like being a member of the Royal British Legion! Or, walking into the Slaughtered Lamb! (movie reference, not WoW reference!)
It's rare that I come across a community that constantly belittles people for asking questions. Yes, I get frustrated seeing new threads that people have started in relation to another thread (why not ask that in the thread you've just quoted?), however, i've just searched "delay with ringing" on the Diamond thread to no real satisfaction. It led me to a thread that quoted another thread that never answered the question.
I agree that we shouldn't keep answering OP's that have been answered weeks, maybe months before, but linking the search page takes the piss! Especially knowing when it takes one person who has had a similar problem, or has read the page with the solution on it to reply with either the answer or the link to the post (not the thread) with the answer on it.
I'd probably feel more welcome on an Apple forum.....

I agree with these sentiments entirely. IMHO you would be hard pressed to find a less welcoming set of forums for a newcomer anywhere else on the internet than these ones. Sometimes it is like a little boy's club for nerds - sniggering at the new boy who does not know as much as them, and has dared to ask a question that they think is "obvious".
Linking to the search engine rather than the answer is a funny little trick to them, at the new boy's expense. It gives them a good giggle and makes them feel superior. And as often as not when you try the search they say you should you come up with nothing.
Oops not made myself popular now with the in-crowd - will be eating my school dinners by myself from now on.

Try disabling HTC dialer and using Windows default dialer by Advance Config Tools may help. The Diamond will ring after the 2nd ring comparing to the at least the 3rd ring of HTC dialer skin. It may be the hugh BMP files of HTC dialer skin, but you may loss control of in-call volumn control unless you install a RemoveHTCvolumn cab.

Seriously how hard was it to post that damm link!!! (Thank you kinky-chinky incidental)
This may be one of the most productive forums on the net but hell its also the one full off the most self-righteous knob jockeys that take some kind of perverse pleasure in taunting people that come here looking for help who, and I know this is a hard concept for most of you lot to grasp, just might not have the same level of technical expertise or grasp of the intricate details netiquette as yourself....

to my knowledge there are 3 things you can do
1. use .wav instead of .mp3
2. use Diamond TF3D and disable ringtone delay (can be done in registry too but cant remember the key
3. disable the htc dialer
personally i have done 1 and 2 as i like the htc dialer...the first one by itself decreases the delay significantly..

Not very. But that's not my point.
It's this community reaction that I'm making my point about.

In fact this forum as a whole is for developers, beginners and everybody in between. It is for anybody who has an interest in HTC phones - either as a techy (bless em) or as somebody who just wants to get the best out of the phone they own.
In fact developers have got a seperate part of the forum for each phone - it is specifically for Diamond ROM development - I know that because that is its name. But this bit of the forum is anything to do with Themes Applications and software - so not just techys here
