Hello!

I'm using a Treo PRO by Palm and run into a small problem...
maybe some can help...

I cannont activate my own mp3 ringtone...I tried in two ways:
1. went to my storage card and with a long tap on the short menu I've choosen 'set as ringtone'..doesn't work
2. trough the 'sounds&notification' menu, 'notifications' choosen an 'event' known caller and set my ringtone..but it doesn't work..

The phone doesn't make a sound for incoming call, tryed it from fixed and mobile network, no message of incoming call, I only see a little ear phone near the signal icone...and after that I get a message 'cprog.exe' ??

any idea what that may be?

thank you for your help..:D

Where is your file located? If it is not in the My Ringtones folder you will need to place it there and then select it...
It wont read it off of the storage card for some odd reason

Hy...
I've copied the file in My Ringtones, and when I check in Sounds&Notifications-Manage it's there..so it's in phone memory...I still get the same error...

That should have done the trick. It could be something odd happening with that particular song.

I would try a bunch of different ones to eliminate that possibility. All you have to do is have the song in the "My Ringtones" folder and select it in sounds and it should work.

Are you using a long MP3....in other words over 30 seconds in length? I have cut my MP3s to 30 seconds.

By the way, Microsoft provides 79 free ringtones (some are short for SMS, etc. alerts). (Microsoft and free are rarely used in the same sentence.) Cut and paste and go to:

http://www.treoprotricks.com/post/2008/10/09/79-Stunning-Ringtones-for-your-Windows-Mobile-PDA-and-Smartphone.aspx

And there is indeed a completely free MP3 ringtone download site:

http://www.zedge.net/

Listen to the download before you actually download. (My name there is MaxLaw843 if you like the blues or Scottish music....search for me.)

Hy guys,

I cut the mp3 song to exactly 18 seconds...I also have another three songs in that 'My Ringtones' folder, and the same problem occurs..but, I tested it againd and found out that three of my melodies work and two don't..

three that work are complete songs..and two that don't are cut..but they work when played in wmplayer in the phone ??

any idea maybe??

tnx for your time
