service going in and out

when i turn on my phone, i have a connection. It will stay on for about 30 seconds and i will receive text messages. But after that it shuts off, phone and data both! They will come back, but when that happens if i try to make an outgoing call or text message, or use the data to get on the internet it will shut back off. All my settings are correct. I even did a hard reset to see if the problem was with some software I installed, but still no go.

BTW I also popped the sim card in an old phone and everything worked. Its still under warranty so i think im gonna give Palm a call when i get done with finals tonight

I just dont want to lose my phone for a month

Any ideas or suggestions would be beautiful. Thanks in advance
