imate site make many step to take it !
now i uploaded to mediafire , anyone get 8150 and lockcode from the box can upgrade OS without register :D

hope some one find the way to upgrade imate os over NBF and SD card because when i put reset while hold a softkey it said SD and MMC mode ==> we have a chance to do it :D

ive already DL from imate which required registering...indeed it was a long process...this is what ive noticed with the new official rom:

1. a little faster than the wm6
2. they changed power settings, it now indicates how many percentage left..
3. imate also changed the mms manager...and it sucks! ive tested it and as per preference, the Arcsoft mms is much better than the new one in wm 6.1..(mms wm6- separates SMS from MMS, indicates how many percentage left in receiving/sending multimedia messages////mms wm6.1- integrates SMS and MMS in one profile, does not show percentage/progress as to receiving and/or sending MMS)
4. added Task Manager
5. SMS threading Enabled

so far, thats what ive noticed...

ADVICE: since this is not a clean rom, and thus all of what imate want to add is pre-installed, just manage your Windows/Starup folder and remove unnecessary start files that consume PPC memory..add your favorite tools such as QuickMenu(to make x, and ok botton as CLOSE/END/Terminate) and Advance Config Tools for improvement on POWER, PERFORMACE, AND STABILITY...

hello,
there is no way to perform any ROM up/ downgrade with your I-mate device if you don't hand the Rom lockcode
The only thing you can do to solve this issue is to look back for the pre-owner of the device, ask for box or quick user guiding book

Can anyone point me in the direction of a download of the official WM6 or WM61 ROM for the iMate Ultimate 8150? With iMate having gone bust and the site shutdown it's a little difficult to get it through normal means :)

i just downloaded ROM but can't upgrade my 8150 because it keeps "trying to connect to device"... I already set up sync to windows mobile device center on vista. How can I solve the problem? tks
