Hard reset taking ages?

hello,
just tried to hard reset my Vodafone branded (v1615) kaiser and its now been sitting at a screen saying the device is clearing storage please wait for about an hour now, any ideas how long this is supposed to take or if theirs a way to bypass this part ?

It is not supposed to take an hour, try to reset again.

tried it 3 times now get to the same point each time

Remove the battery for about 15-20 seconds re insert and try to re boot, what happens ?

i just reflashed phone usingvodas firmware update and its booted up fine, think my copy of wince was courrpt or something
