Unlocking Tilt/Kaiser with WM6.1

Hi Guys,

I'm on T-Mo USA and am looking at a AT&T Tilt to replace my damaged MDA. I've read somewhere that I would not be able to unlock the WM6.1 version. Is that true? If so, how can I downgrade to WM6, unlock and then upgrade back to the OEM WM6.1?

I would appreciate any comments. Thanks.

Read a little more, you've obviously been miss lead. And you do not unlock a rom, you unlock the phone, then you flash a rom, or keep the one you have on there.

It says absolutely do not attempt a sim unlock on a WM6.1 phone.

Do I really need to downgrade?

I would! I had to and it only took ten extra min! I am using a tilt and I am on t-mobile works great! Its worth it to do it right! The guys that write these programs know what they are talking about, it pays to listen to wise councel!:)

Dashmaster, what ROM are you using? Did it have all of the T-Mo settings (USA) or did you have to add them? Cheers.

I am using L26 M3D! Great ROM! It comes with the network config installer so it sets everything up for you! All I had to do was setup my unlimited web stuff! You can let me know if you need that info but everything works MMS, SMS and WEB. People are always looking at my phone and saying " oh you have AT&T" I say nope T-Mobile! Flips them out! LOL! If you ever need any help with T-Mo stuff feel free to PM me, most people in this section have AT&T so I can help you with T-Mo stuff! Always happy to help! I know alot too! (Not trying to brag, I just do!) :)

how did u go about doing this? did you have to downgrade back to the 6.0 then unlock, then upgrade back to 6.1?

Here is the tools & basic instructions I use to unlock Kaisers on WM6.1 ROMs.
Works most times but sometimes may need downgrade to WM6.0.

wow thanks alot for the speedy reply, i found out how to do it an hour later but i wish i wouldve waited. wouldve saved some brain power, such an easier method
