Does anyone know if in any ROM (maybe in an official one) is possible to play smoothly MP4 H.264 600x300 videos using the integrated windows media player?

I have also an HTC Touch HD, with that using Windows Media (or HTC Album)
the playback of MP4 video uses an accelerated driver and is really, really smooth. Coreplayer is definitely worse.

I think it could be possible that also in Athena Windows Media uses an optimized driver.

In Mitchy 6.1 ROM (great ROM!) Windows Media play my MP4 videos but really slow.

Thank you

you "just" need to make optimized drivers.......lol

In my understanding it is possible that Windows Media uses specific API's that can use an accelerated driver (already there!). Something like Directx.

In touch HD the situation is indeed similar: Coreplayer/Tcmp does not use the hardware acceleration of the device (Qtv in that case=) becouse of the lack of drivers BUT windows media really does!!

So, converting divx video in something that windows media recognises (Mp4 H.264) and use it to reproduce them, makes possible use the full power of the hardware.

I hope, and beleive, the same is possible in Athena!!

Thank you!
