issues after installing kavana Rom

wll guys i searched everywhere in wiki and other threads and i was unable to find an answer .After upgrading to kavana rom on every soft reset i am getting "E " ICON on the top of screen and it remains for a long time .I have disconnected gprs long time back and also kinoma freeplay is not working .please help

The large E in the middle of top means EDGE is available.

It's what network your on. E = the Edge network. I think it should be there.

I sometimes noticed that Kinoma does not work when you do not have enough free memory, try running Kinoma after a fresh reboot of your phone and let me know if it works at all.

well i agree with u but i have not activated gprs or edge and please tell me how to get rid of it bcoz it remains for a long time on my screen and one more thing i am getiing this icon on every soft reset .while kinoma player works for only one time after installation and when u try it again nothing happens even after soft reset

It means EDGE is available thats why it shows just like i said in first post...

If you have a data contract then the E will show up, nothing you can do about it short of editing the registry to keep it from being displayed.

Allow me to help you. Since I see your from India....and also that your on the Hutch (now Vodafone) network, coz I've seen the same problem with the same network. I was on hutch previously and I always got that E on my screen too. Lots of people would tell me its coz I have edge active...and I would keep tellin em I don't! Until I finally figured out why it is the way it is. You see, Hutch has GPRS/EDGE already preactivated on almost all connections. It's like the handset can detect the availability of the edge network but it wont work because you still need to enter the other technical info which they will give you once you call them and request for it. Hence the E just stays there. Get used to it. Or switch to Airtel.....it's way better :cool:
