Me and my wife went to wet market this morning to buy something for tonight's dinner. After we bought everything I saw this "very" old woman crying and begging for help outside the market. She said "Maawa na kayo sa matanda, palimos po, hindi pa ako kumakain!" ("Please take pitty on this old woman, I am begging you, I haven't eaten anything yet!"). I got teary eyed seeing this old woman (thingking she's my grandama) begging for a penny so she can buy something to eat. I told my wife to buy some food so we can give it to the old woman. We did and I handed it to this old lady. I saw happiness in her eyes when I handed her a box of Dunkin Donuts, 1 big cup of Orange juice and 2 orders of rice (2 cups of cooked rice) with 1 order of viand (adobong baboy...Filipino pork dish). We went home with happiness in our heart. I hope our goverment will be more keen in helping this kind of people. :(
