GPS dead?

i have a weird problem with my diamond :confused:
i did'nt use gps in a while, but lately needed it
so... i downloaded the latest info with quickgps and fired up google maps...
no response
tried tomtom 7...
it did not find any satellites either

i'm using the generic 1.97 rom from htc website, no problems until now
could it be a hardware glitch? i did drop the phone accidentally a few weeks back and it fell pretty hard
everything else works fine, though

make sure you gps settings are set correctly.

com port 4 and baud rate 4800
also let windows manage your settings
and try turn off agps

if not you could try hard reset your phone. also check the forum search

Extended battery maybe?

Only the new extended battery from htc lets gps work as far as i have noticed, the others fail completely for some reason.
