Scott (scrosler) gave me permission to branch off development of his M2D Round 4 Reloaded ROM, since he'd officially abandoned his Titan development. He's having too much fun with his new Touch Pro ROM cooking.

STABLE BRANCH 1.3.4 [02/20/2009]

These first releases of what I'm calling Titan Reloaded is pretty similar to his loaded ROM and just includes some minor updates and tweaks, which are detailed on the download page here:

http://www.pdamag.com/roms/

Instructions and caveats here:

http://www.pdamag.com/rom-install-instructions/

Titan Reloaded 1.3.4 is out and contains tons of changes, check them out!

Thanks to xda-developers and members scrosler, dcd1182, and no2chem.

I'm starting this thread to support the users of this branch. Thank you for trying it.

FAQ

Q: When I switch to lanscape mode, or open the keyboard, why doesn't M2D switch to landscape?

A: Lanscape mode isn't supported in M2D, and I can't add it, since I didn't write it and don't have the source.

Q: Why doesn't the flash on the camera work?

A: The version 5 camera is installed by default as it seems to take better pictures, and it doesn't support flash. If you want the flash back, download the kitchen instead of the standard ROM and customize your ROM before flashing it with the version 4 camera. I challenge you to show me a picture that came out better with the puny "flash" on this camera, though.

Q: Why doesn't the "ok" hardware button open the start menu?

A: I haven't figured that out myself. It seems that M2D takes control of that hardware button and I can't fix it. Try using the start menu hardware button instead.

Q: I'm having a problem with the stable branch, how do I get help?

A: There are no known issues. First try doing a hard reset after flashing (hold both softkeys, the hardware buttons with dots on them in while pressing in the reset button with your stylus. Then press the hardware R and space keys when prompted.) Then try to reproduce your problem without installing any custom software in the kitchen or after flashing. If you can reproduce it, please provide the steps to reproduce in the forum and ask for assistance.

BETA BRANCH 1.4b2 [02/20/2009]

Also check out the 1.4 beta 2 which upgrades 2DManila (including footprints), HTC Album, and HTC Audio Manager from a new HTC release. Also included the previously missing Audio Booster. Upgraded Youtube with working finger scroll. Now using default theme, which can still be changed from M2DC. Also installed the Volume Control. The carrier cabs have been upgraded and are now installed under My Documents by default. No more app bundle installed. I haven't tested those apps with the new Manila. I also upgraded the sys files to new OS version.

Because it may not be obvious, to non-software developers. The beta ROM probably has bugs. I need feedback to fix them. Please don't run it if you don't find it fun beta testing. If you want stable, please go with 1.3.4 for now.

http://www.pdamag.com/downloads/TitanReloaded_1.4b2.rar

There are a lot of known issues with the beta at this time:

1. In call volume adjustment doesn't work (some report this works though?)
2. Custom cities in weather tab may not work?
3. If your phone gets stuck on vibrate, go into Start->Settings->Phone-> and Change to Ring.

Sorry, no kitchen for the beta. It's easier for me to get useful feedback if I know everyone is running in the same contolled environment.

Thanks!

From bitserve's site:
TitanReloaded 1.0 Known Issues [12/16/2008]

* Location tab search doesn’t open GoogleMaps. A quick fix is to copy \Program Files\GoogleMaps\GoogleMaps.exe to \Windows
* Internet tab doesn’t open Internet Explorer. A quick fix is to set [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila2D\InternetW idget]
“OperaEXEFile”=”\Windows\iexplore.exe“

Looks good. I'm looking forward to flashing this when I get home.

I just started looking again at the different ROM's out there since I had a few days to try and update things again on my phone.

I flashed this yesterday and have noticed a few things. I will list some of them.

The interface is very nice. The app shortcuts are easily added to the application page. Colors are customizable and are easily seen.

My phone seems to react very slowly to the bluetooth and the music app would not even open. Not sure why? There needs to be a regedit app installed. The quick access menu that I've been used to is gone, would be nice to see the Contacts and some of the others that are in the "start" menu that are used frequently still show up there. The used applications are cleared when the phone is shut off and restarted, so when you try to get to a previously used app, you need to go back through the menu selections to find it again. A GPS app would be nice as well. I couldn't get the Google Maps to find any satellites though. I know the phone with Verizon can be a little finicky for GPS at times. Although I did have it working a while back with a different install and was great.

The camera and photo viewer are SWEET. They work very well. I may have to try a different build and see how that works for the time being, but will be back when there are a few other mod's to this one. It looks very promising.

Also, my kids grabbed my phone and were disappointed that there weren't any games other than the default MS ones.

A couple more things I noticed, are that the battery indicator did have colors to it (very nice), although the number of bars didn't change and I ran it to nothing thinking I was also getting incredible battery life. Theclock seemed to lock up and not update.

I recently changed from a Hermes to the 6800 and have been looking for the perfect ROM (for me). I have to tell you I found it. This is the first ROM I have tried that everything works and is set up for my needs. Thank you & looking forward to your next update.

This is sweet..I have some questions

How do I get the OK button (side) working on the home page? Basically to open the start menu like in the OEM roms?

Also I have the callhistory.exe file how to I get the Voice button to open it?

Another thing is how to I make the scroll bar on the side wider?

OK to add to this, I installed the ROM pack and now mthe phone works funny.
The dialer display cuts off some numbers and the right hand scroll bar in the folders acts funny. also the Screen align does not work.

(I installed everything in the rom pack) Maybe I should of done one at a time.
What you guys think?

My phone seems to react very slowly to the bluetooth and the music app would not even open.

Do you mean that your bluetooth was slower than with the stock ROM? The Audio Manager works fine for me from both the tab and from start->programs. What changes have you made, or third party apps have you installed?

There needs to be a regedit app installed.

Well, I'm not sure it needs to be in the ROM. However, as I get further away from scott's original ROM, I'll be installing some freeware apps that I use regularly that I consider must haves. One will have a registry editor.

I doubt that I'll ever add quick menu to this ROM, but I'll start offering a kitchen soon. I actually like the startclean app. I don't turn my phone off very often. When I do, it's because I want to clear everything.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=251164

You can remove start clean from Windows\Start Up. You'll also be able to disable this in the kitchen.

A GPS app would be nice as well. I couldn't get the Google Maps to find any satellites though.

GoogleMaps is installed. I don't know of any other free ones that work better. Although maybe I'm unclear on what you mean GPS app? Make sure that you have GPS on under services under phone-> options. I usually am able to get a sattelite fine. What radio are you using?

Also, my kids grabbed my phone and were disappointed that there weren't any games other than the default MS ones.

Is there a must have game other than solitaire?

A couple more things I noticed, are that the battery indicator did have colors to it (very nice), although the number of bars didn't change and I ran it to nothing thinking I was also getting incredible battery life. Theclock seemed to lock up and not update.

I tested this by letting my battery running all the way down, before I released the ROM. I didn't have any problems. Also no problems with the clock. What changes have you made, or third party apps have you installed?

How do I get the OK button (side) working on the home page? Basically to open the start menu like in the OEM roms?

I just had to test and was surprised to find that worked from the today screen. My phone has a start button, which I always used for this. It looks like TouchFlo takes control of the OK button. Sorry. I'd recommend using the start button on your phone, if you have one. I'll fix it if I can.

Also I have the callhistory.exe file how to I get the Voice button to open it?

This worked on the stock ROM? From the today screen, this seems to open the voice memo recorder for me. You might try a hardware button configuration program.

Another thing is how to I make the scroll bar on the side wider?

I believe that scott made the scroll bar narrower, because this ROM was mostly supposed to be navigatable by finger. I would recommend using the scroll wheel or the dpad when possible. I actually prefer to have more screen than more scroll bar. However, here are the registry tweaks:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE]
"cyHScr"=dword:13
"cxVScr"=dword:13
"cyVScr"=dword:13
"cxHScr"=dword:13

You'll be able to disable the narrow scroll bar in the kitchen. You can also install a 12 pixel scroll bar from the included ROM pack, under Apps.

Well, in my version, the Task Manager is already installed in the ROM. I wouldn't recommend installing the cab for it. Truthfully, the only other cab that I've tested is the Opal Style Comm Manager, which works fine. I don't care for the other apps.

You should definitely install them one at a time. I'm not sure how to even install multiple cabs at one time. You likely only want to install one carrier cab, also. My screen align works fine.

I have a problem. When I set up my gmail on my phone it won't receive messages. It always worked on DCD and I don't understand why it would just up and quit working. I haven't tried any other emails though because they changed the system at work from groupwise to exchange and I don't know the new servers since I am on break til the 5th. Has anyone been able to set up email on their phones? I feel so disconnected.

I use mail all the time. I check both my home e-mail and my work e-mail with this ROM. I haven't had any problems. Using IMAP for both though. Haven't tested POP3.

When is the next update going to be released? It is after the holidays. This weekend. Likely Sunday night. I just finished a web development project and have this weekend to work on whatever I want, and I've been wanting to work on this. :) Thanks for your patience.

It's weird that you're both having problems with gmail. I guess I'll have to get a gmail account and see if I can figure out the problem. If anything, I would expect this ROM to work better, as I included "Windows Mobile 6.1 Hotfix for Sending POP and IMAP E-mail (KB958639)". I'll let you know what I find. Thanks for the feedback.

any chance in excluding Icontact from your next rom? IContact to me seems to be less productive and not as intuitive as the standard windows mobile contacts.

None of the other windows apps perform like IContacts.

Just a thought.

Don't expect much for this next release. It's going to be the 1.01. Fix the two known issues, try to duplicate the gmail problem and fix it. Try to get M2D to give up the the OK button, and kick out the kitchen (which I've been meaning to clean up). The kitchen should get you the ROM minus iContact, if that's what you want.

The upcoming releases after this weekend will be getting further away from the original ROM. One thing that I'm working on is modifying iContact source to fit the M2D theme better. While I'm doing this, what usability problems are you having with it?

I really was thinking of adding an A-Z quick menu along the right like the new contact manager in the touch pro and getting rid of the icon buttons, which I have no use for. If you have some ideas, please let me know.

As far as navigating contacts without a stylus, I feel that the default contact manager is currently worse.

1st Gripe:
I would like to be able to scroll backward to get from A-Z and back to A without having to go from the top where A starts and scrolling all the way back down just to get to Z when a simple back scroll would get me there.

2nd Gripe:
When I find a contact that I would like to call I should be able to push the green phone button to start a call, however, I am forced to go into the contact and select the phone number again.

Third gripe.
Phone numbers are very small compared to the contact name.

4th Gripe:
Call History should look and feel like icontact to provide a consistant look and feel when working with phone numbers.

Thanks for keeping the Titan alive with new rom development.

Is there a way to add a contact Tab for TouchFlo?

The people tab is good enough for me. I guess I don't call that many people. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I guess when I rewrite iContact, I can see if it can be hacked into one of the unused tabs. I doubt that my hex editing and disassembly skills are that good, though.

Note that your username for authentication is your full e-mail address, that you need to enable SMTP authentication, and when setting up the outgoing server, make sure and click on the advanced settings link and enable SSL for both incoming and outgoing.

One other thing. Make sure and configure the client not to download all of your messages, or even all of the message, or attachments. I always just use the last three days and the first 5K.

If you're still having problems, please provide a step by step to duplicate. Thank you.

I am not sure why people actually like Icontacts vs the standard contacts? Is it just the simple wow factor that allows them to say "Hey, my phone has one program that looks like the IPhone"? Oh well, everyone likes things for different reasons.

I use my phone for business, so I have all my customers listed. I do like the idea of the People tab since I could put in my most frequently called people.

I will continue to use your ROM and provide feedback. However, I am unable to use TouchFlo since I have now quick way to get to my much needed contact list.

Titan Reloaded 1.1 is up as well as the kitchen. You can leave out iContact if you want by using the kitchen. For those that like iContact, the new version is included (7.0.1).

I like iContact because it's finger friendly. I don't need to get my stylus out to make a call. How many contacts do you think one needs before iContact becomes unusable for finding contacts quickly? Have you tried the directory icon?

Is there a way to go directly to the directory when opening icontact? This would cut down on a key stroke.

Also, how does one get to the contacts from Touchflo? I do not see a tab available for it. I will install this new version later tonight or tomorrow and let you know what I think.

I am still a big fan of iguidance 4.0. The voice prompts and TTS are extremely good. POI is acceptable and can be supplemented by google maps if needed when in an area with a good signal. Entire USA/Canada comes as a single 1.2 Gb map that is stored on the microsd card, so no map downloads are needed when traveling. In head to head trials with TOMTOTM, Destinator, Garmin, Pharos, plus a bunch of in-car built in GPS software, the iguidance routed better, provided more consistent audio signals for turns and intersections and provided the best Text to Speech for street and interstate names, allowing for driving without constantly checking the screen.

Unfortunately not until HTC releases the source code or another version with these features, which is unlikely. There are actually several requests for the same thing in Scott's old thread. A good idea. I guess HTC didn't think most users had more than one appointment at a time.

You'll be able to disable the narrow scroll bar in the kitchen. You can also install a 12 pixel scroll bar from the included ROM pack, under Apps.

Yup! I hate those wide ass default scroll bars.

Are you using the ROM pack from my original? No biggie just curious (and proud?)

Thanks for the tip nitros. I will give that a try.

The amount of time that it takes to hold the button in can be changed in the config for I conact as well. I set my to about 250MS (1/4 of a second) for quick dialing.

i cant get the kitchen to work...

You didn't say why, so I'm guessing you need some instructions? Just run the BuildNB.bat file, which will start BuildOS. Select the packages you want, and click on the green "play" button. Then close BuildOS, and some packaging will happen and next you'll be prompted to establish USB connection to flash. If something goes wrong, try undoing whatever package selections you made until it works.

Same here. greloc complains about a tmp file in the bluetooth directory

I'm guessing that you dropped in an OEM that has a file in it that is already included. Duplicates aren't handled by BuildOS. Like Scott said, try removing the file and rerunning BuildNB.bat.

Allign screen not working in 1.0 or 1.1

I can't duplicate this problem. Can you let me know what other apps you installed, and what carrier cab? Did you install this on a Titan? If you mean being prompted to align the screen after first install, yeah, that's removed.

This, I believe is selctable in the buttons settings in Windows?

Thanks for the tip. I guess I can try to make it work like stock in the next build. :)

Are you using the ROM pack from my original? No biggie just curious (and proud?)

Yeah. I upgraded the one package in it that needed upgrading, and removed Task Manager, as I include that in the ROM. It even still says Scott's ROM Pack or whatever. :)

I saw that on your TP ROM. I think I've actually convinced the most vocal person here to start using it. :) I think it's more an adjustment to change than a problem with iContact. I think it needs some work, but like you, I find navigating with touch is more useful than not.

However, I've upgraded it and configured it to show the OS taskbar on the top instead of the other one, so it fits the theme better. I'll be asking burt for the source so that I can customize it further. He says he offers it on request. I hope to improve the UI.

Thanks for stopping by. I still really appreciate your great ROM and allowing me to contribute my work on it. It got me excited about my Titan again. I'm no longer interested in getting an iPhone.

I tested this by letting my battery running all the way down, before I released the ROM. I didn't have any problems.

I'm also having problems with the battery meter. Two things: after installing the sprint carrier cab, the nicer-looking colored meter went away and it no longer accurately shows the battery status (it always shows 4 bars). Could the Sprint carrier cab cause the problem?

I'm on sprint too, and it works for me. I just had my phone go yellow with two bars. One thing to note, if you're using the kitchen, the colored battery meter is only on the HTC Vogue Canvas, not the HTC Titan Canvas.

You didn't install any other software? A second thing to note, after I install a new ROM, I always do a hard reset afterward. I don't know if anyone else does, but you might try that. Otherwise, can you give me step by step instructions of what you're doing and at which point you encounter the problem?

Also, from where are you getting your Sprint carrier cab? You might try the one in the ROM pack mentioned in the instructions.

I'd really like to get to the bottom of this, but I need to be able to duplicate it.

Thanks!

I'm glad you got it working. The MMS apps are actually carrier specific. I install sprint picture mail afterward, since I'm a sprint user. You can search the forums. I'm sure you can find a CAB for the MMS app that you prefer by searching the forums. I think someone should work on some fully loaded carrier cabs that have all of the carrier specific fluff too, not just the functional stuff.

Thanks for the tips, bitserve.

I have actually installed alot of apps, but I first noticed the battery meter change from colored to white after I installed the carrier cab. I did not do a hart reset after flashing, but I will keep this in mind the next time I flash. I couldn't solve the problem (would probably require a reflash and I just spent the better part of the day getting my phone back up to speed), so I'm just going to use the vistahide battery gauge instead.

Thanks again! Great work!

The first rendition of yours ,1.0, I had the issue with the color battery icon, but on v1.1 it seems to work perfect, or at least so far it has.

One question for you tho, I have seen some nice mods with other color icons on the bar, it appears to be some small mods to the canvas, so should be something you could add if you wanted. It would definitely give it more Wow factor.

How about some other finger friendly SIP's? The vogue comes with at least 1 T9 style SIP, are these able to be ported to Titans? Would be a nice add if you can do it.

Other than that, it's very nice.

I was never able to duplicate a problem with the multicolor battery in either ROM. Hopefully I'll get to the bottom of this.

I personally like the plain stock title bar stuff. I've actually been considering making the colored battery only white, yellow, and red, and getting rid of the green, so that there's only color if there's a problem. I like the white. I did have to mess with the canvas for the colored battery meter.

I'll likely go with eight status blocks next. I could make it even more accurate of a status indicator, but I'm used to the blocks. :)

I guess what would be neat is if the community could come up with a taskbar customizer app, so that we could all get what we wanted without having to always mess with the canvas ourselves. Just load our skins.

I had the diamond ezinput keyboard thread bookmarked, as I was planning on looking into it. The screen shots look pretty neat. I haven't test it out yet, but hopefully it'll meet my needs and yours.

Thanks to everyone for all the hardwork and assistance with these ROMs.

I also have the issue with the battery indicator changing to all white bars. Also, I noticed that at the same time this changed, the keyboard skin also lost the numbers at the top and I believe back to the grayish color. I have installed a few apps. With 1.0 it happened after the carrier cab was installed (verizon) right after flashing. With 1.1 it didn't happen until after a soft reboot of the phone 1 day.

I have installed the Rom and the Verizon carrier cab and still cannot get a data connection. Is there something else that needs to be done?

Did you reboot after installing the carrier cab? Also, did you use the carrier cab that's in the included ROM pack, or a different one? Are you getting any error messages?

You might try rebooting, reinstalling the carrier cab, then rebooting again.

I don't have verizon, but I understand sometimes you have to dial *228 and select option 1?

It looks like the verizon carrier cab includes it's own taskbar, which is overwriting mine. It'll likely happen after a reboot after installing the verizon carrier cab.

If you have a white battery meter, and it never seems to drop, please try removing these registry entries and rebooting to correct the problem:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\security\ResOver\Bitmaps]
"BatteryIconIdStart"=dword:000003e9
"BatteryIconLevels"=dword:00000006

However, if you have white bars and it seems to be showing you the proper battery status, please let me know. :)

Alternatively, if you have white battery bars, and you used the standard ROM or used the kitchen and the HTC Vogue Canvas, try modifying this registry entry (after writing down the old value):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\security\ResOver\Bitmaps]
"BaseDll"="phcanOverbmp.dll"

I will need to give up on the colored battery meter, or update the included carrier cabs with it and force people to use those.

Thank you for the valuable feedback.

Sorry about that. After flashing 1.0, installed the carrier cab and then rebooted. Battery indicator was over written. With v1.1, I installed the carrier cab and rebooted multiple times afterwards, but didn't see the battery indicator change until much later. I was, however, playing with application skins, specifically Pocket Player. Not sure if that would have overwritten it or not.

The battery indicator is white and does not show the correct battery status.

I used the kitchen but not the HTC Vogue Canvas. I removed the following registry entries and the battery status now is white and showing the correct battery status.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\security\ResOver\Bitmaps]

That file's definitely not there. If it maybe said dwmapi.dll, then I'm guessing that you're trying to install "Manilla2d - Scott" and "Manilla2d - White Diamond" at the same time. Pick just one. You'll likely want to pick the Scott one, as that's the one that's really optimized and makes this ROM what it is. You can customize the theme later using M2DC.

If this doesn't seem to fit the problem, then more than likely you've added multiple OEM packages yourself that are conflicting. I wouldn't know which ones you're installing, though. Sorry.

Thank you for the comments and feedback.

That's the part I don't get. In theory your first reboot after installing the verizon cab should have messed up the battery. I thank you again, for this valuable feedback. I'm glad to hear that removing the battery registry settings gets the battery back to working, even if uncolored. I'll add this to known issues until I get something out again this weekend.

I disabled the "service light", which simply indicates that you have a signal. I found it deeply annoying, especially since I sleep with my phone next to my bed. However, it should in no way prevent you from being able to tell if you got a new message. Just go to Start -> Settings -> Sounds & Notifications, then to the Notifications tab. Select Missed Call or New Text Message from the event type and check the "Flash light for" checkbox. I usually have it flash with "no limit", which flashes until I acknowledge the alert.

Thanks for the feedback.

theres no camera cab with flash avaiable. the camera cab with the flash going around is the titan's stock camera. the other being the vogue's camera without the flash, but it's suppose to take better quality pictures. personally, i haven't noticed the difference.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

First off thank you for the ROM. Overall it seems to work well.

I just upgraded from the Official Sprint/HTC 3.56 ROM. I seem to be experiencing an issue with portrait/landscape modes. Whenever I have the keyboard open and exit an application, the phone reverts to portrait mode. For example, keyboard is open, I send a text message and the phone reverts to portrait mode. I am not sure if this is a known issue or if this is the intended operation. I have searched both here and on ppcgeeks for this issue and have not found an answer. If this issue is known, please excuse my ignorance. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

As sailow pointed out, the standard ROM still comes with the V5 camera. If you want something else, I'd recommend the kitchen. I personally think the V5 camera is better, and I don't feel that the flash was worth anything on the V4 camera. Just my opinion, though.

i was just wondering if this was UC compatible. I just made the file, and i'm not sure if its me if its the ROM.

I'm using UC to install the GoogleMaps and hotfix. I don't typically use UC as a postflash customizer, so it's possible that I broke it if it can't read my config file and yours at the same time. I swear the config.txt file was already there though. I just modified it.

That's a known issue. Sorry, it wasn't in this thread yet, but it's likely in the Manila2D thread and in Scott's old thread. Thank you for the comments and feedback and for taking the time to list your specs in case it was a new problem. Just to be clear though, there is no landscape in Manila2D. So if you exit all apps back to it, you'll be back in portrait mode. Sorry, no way to fix it yet.

You may be able to figure out how to add more, or do a search on the forums. There's likely info in the manila2d threads or the customizing manila2d threads.

Allign screen not working in 1.0 or 1.1

I don't use this ROM but as a thought do you have fTouchFlo or an equivalent installed? I don't mean the fancy Today screen plugin that has made this ROM so popular but the extra program that runs in the background and allows you to finger scroll in pretty much all programs? If you do, it will make the align screen not work unless you disable it while aligning the screen.

If one were to cook a ROM without TouchFlo 2D how much free memory would there be in 1.2? Does this ROM have the issue where you run out of memory over time because one background process slowly starts consuming more and more (and Oxios won't even free it)?

I used to use DCD 3.2.6 but when he came out with 3.3.4 I switched for the extra RAM and it doesn't appear to have the same memory leak problem. When I asked on these forums everyone said that the memory leak was well known and you just have to do a soft reset every few days. 3.3.4 doesn't appear to have that but I have noticed a few drawing issues that 3.2.6 didn't have.

Basically I'm looking for an alternative ROM to 3.3.4 which still has plenty of RAM and no leak but I assumed since this ROM is based off 3.2.6 it would have the same free memory and leak.

I'm getting 21.85MB after reboot with M2D running, after fresh install. This is without running Oxios Hibernate. Note that once you enable other tabs or configure your phone to check your e-mail, or various other things, you will see less after reboot. Additionally, I don't think that cooking M2D into the ROM uses memory, just running it does. Just disable TouchFLO from the today screen items and reboot to get it back. I get 25.53MB after doing that. After Oxios Hibernate these numbers are 22.59MB and 26.01MB.

Compare these to the 1.1 and earlier from Scott's thread:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444342

*M2D Enabled, Fresh Boot, Oxios Hibernate ran first - Free RAM: 21.99
*M2D Disabled, Fresh Boot, Oxios Hibernate ran first - Free RAM: 25.45

I typically boot with 20.4 after my PIM restore and setting up my e-mail accounts, with M2D running.

I still have some more optimizing to do, and should be able to free up another 50KB. :)

I had problems with 3.3.4 locking up. DCD posted that he was having problems with 3.3.4 that he couldn't fix and he abadoned it and started working on a totally new branch. I wouldn't recommend DCD 3.3.4.

I haven't seen any memory leaks, but you have to understand what one is. If a program starts using more and more memory and not releasing it, the program gives up that memory when it exits. The only memory leak that would cause problems that you describe would be in the system programs that can't be exited without rebooting. The only problem that I've found with this ROM isn't specific to 3.2.6, but to all of windows CE. The GWES starts loading resources for other applications as you use them, and not releasing those resources even after you close that program. Even so, after working for awhile and closing all apps I typically have 13-17MB free. No drastic and unexplainable drop. Can you help me find the post that said that there was a problem with DCD 3.2.6?

Thanks for the feedback.

I didn't change anything that would do that. What device do you have it installed on, and what carrier cab and other software have you installed? How often does the ringer not ring, and did you have this problem with the stock ROM?

Thank you everyone for the feedback and letting us know how much memory you're booting with!

I had the problem with gwes.exe growing and growing so I had to do a soft reset pretty much every day. With 3.3.4 I haven't noticed the same problem but it could just be because of the extra free RAM but I haven't ever had to soft reset on 3.3.4.

I'm trying to decide between trying this ROM, the latest DCD kitchen, and nueROM3 or nueROM-M. I just hate reinstalling my apps all the time (I'm too lazy to figure out something to automate it even though I know quite a few options exist).

I've had this same problem, has happened twice since flashing a couple days ago. Soft reset fixes it. I like a lot of the oems in your kichen, just had too much problems with memorey with m2dc, so m2dc is not cooked in. I'm running verizon cab, Seven (what I think was screwing with m2dc), GC arcsoft, gc java, HTC home custimizer, htc home, MS live, Total commander and adobe flashlite.

Oh a different note one of my flashes did not sit right. The phone acted weird, so I reflashed and all is well, well almost. The only problem I'm seeing is the scroll wheel is not smooth. If I try to scroll down/ up fast, it starts scrolling in the wrong directio, then ends where I started. I tried flashing another rom and it is persistant. Any ideas what I screwed up, or how to fix it?

Thanks Kevin

I have 23144 KB free after boot and M2D.

bitserve/scott, great ROM. I've run just about every ROM I've seen, and this one (so far) appears to be the most robust.

How doe the MyLocation widget work? Mine doesn't appear to do anything. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I'm sure what it might be. Thanks.

When I try to connect with com via IR (beam), my mogul just froze (locked up), so I have to soft reset.

p.s. for battery life, is it good to tweak some key?

I was able to reproduce this. I'll try to see what needs to be done to get it working again. I don't know if DCD disabled this on purpose for memory, since most devices support bluetooth now.

...With 3.3.4 I haven't noticed the same problem but it could just be because of the extra free RAM but I haven't ever had to soft reset on 3.3.4.

Are you running M2D on 3.3.4? I had been dissecting 3.3.4 (because no changelog), and I just didn't see that much more memory.

I'm trying to decide between trying this ROM, the latest DCD kitchen, and nueROM3 or nueROM-M. I just hate reinstalling my apps all the time (I'm too lazy to figure out something to automate it even though I know quite a few options exist).

Well, I'll never try to get M2D running optimally on a nueROM until he allows it (doesn't charge money for his ROM/kitchen). I don't think that DCD's new beta kitchen project is any further along than my own. I'm not sure that DCD is even that interested in the Titan any more and may not be around for the Windows 6.5 work coming in the future. There is a lot of development going on right now, but if you want to use M2D, I'd recommend this ROM of course. Otherwise, like you said, it's a toss up.

I've had this (phone ringing) problem, twice since flashing a couple days ago.

Well, I was hoping something would jump out at me. Personally I don't think anything that you posted would cause the phone not to ring. I would blame your carrier or your radio upgrade (if you did one). If you can give me steps to reproduce it...

The only problem I'm seeing is the scroll wheel is not smooth. If I try to scroll down/ up fast, it starts scrolling in the wrong directio, then ends where I started. I tried flashing another rom and it is persistant. Any ideas what I screwed up, or how to fix it?

I've had that problem on the stock ROM in some apps. I think Windows is odd. What apps are you having this problem in? Do you have this problem before installing any additional software, or on the stock ROM?[/QUOTE]

That's more RAM than I would expect. There was a problem with the location widget in 1.0, but there was a workaround and it was fixed in 1.1. If you have 1.1 or later or applied the work around, do you have GoogleMaps installed, and does it start for you? If I type like "pizza" in the location widget, it starts GoogleMaps and finds pizza places near me (or my last GPS coords). Try starting GoogleMaps and doing a search for this and see if it does anything for you.

could we look forward to having the new IE6 as a option in the kitchen of your next release? Some of us are really hung up on it.

One neat thing about kitchens is that you can drop in your own OEM packages. :) You can use M2DC to launch it from the Internet tab if you install it. I won't be doing much in the way of adding additional packages to this ROM, unless they're must haves. I'm going to continue to get the most life out of this product by continuing to optimize it and trying to keep the OS updated, and possibly making it prettier. The next applications that I'll be adding to the kitchen will likely be carrier specific fluff, have a different section for each carrier.

Does this change PRL setting?? , or is it restore to sprint default??, coz my mogul is unlocked version, thx great job u have..

This doesn't mess with your PRL. Instructions and min requirements are here:

I upgraded the radio when a while ago to 3.42.50. Have not had problems running 334 (at least not with the ringer). It only has happened twice. The last time I changed from the preset tone to a new one and it has not happened yet. Sorry can not reproduce it. It did not bother me (not hearing the phone ring for half a day was nice).

Does anyone ever have problems with the phone becoming unresponsive? It happens to me all the time and drives me insane. I try to type out a text message but only 1 in every 3 key presses actually responds. Only a soft reset saves me.

I'm running 1.2, but I've noticed this problem in every ROM I have used, includes Nue's and reloaded.

Does your version of the ROM work on the Verizon xv6800 phone?

Thanks..

Scott (scrosler) gave me permission to branch off development of his Round 4 Reloaded ROM, since he'd officially abandoned his Titan development. He's having too much fun with his new Touch Pro ROM cooking.

Titan Reloaded 1.2 is now out, with fixes for the battery meter problem, as well as some additional tweaks.

Thanks to xda-developers and members scrosler, dcd1182, and no2chem.

I'm starting this thread to support the users of this branch. Thank you for trying it.

Everyone else. I've been busy on this ROM. Been trying some drastic changes in an attempt to improve performance and get more memory. I've optimized the XIP some more, and have most of the M2D files out of Windows, in interest of speed. I love my Titan and want to maximize it's potential. I expect to get another couple years out of this phone. :)

Nothing cosmetic, yet. After this week, I think I'll have most of the optimizations I wanted, and the kitchen cleaned up more, and then have time to start working on other things on the todo list. I still haven't had time to look into the IR beam problem. Version 1.3 will be out either tonight or tomorrow night.

Hey bitserve. I am brand new to this community (signed up to post this) and to my mogul. Your ROM was the very first one I flashed to it. I have since tried a few others and came back to yours. Thanks for the great work. I am downloading the kitchen right now so I can tweak it a little bit more.

I just have one question. I a huge limitation of touchflo seems to be if say I have the keyboard slid out typing a text, then I close it to go to the home screen to pull up an email it always switches orientation back to portrait, and it won't go back to landscape until I close the keyboard and re-open it. I love the touchflo interface with the Scott theme. It makes this phone look so much nicer. But that "bug" is killing me. I know you aren't the developer of touchflo, but do you have any tips or work-arounds?

Either way, keep it up! Thanks again.

Are you sure that dialer is 911 aware? i.e. it doesn't hard lock the phone when you try to dial? Most of the dialers I've seen that look like that dialer were created for GSM phones and while they work 99%, the 911 freeze is a big deal if you are in an emergency and are the only one able to dial 911......

I like the sound of the new iContact since it's supposed to have a big improvement in speed/graphics refresh, etc.

Mr-free, thanks for all the great feedback. This is still scott's ROM, though. I just took over development. Most kudos should go to him and the people who ported M2D, and to DCD and no2chem.

I have iContact BE 7.0.1 beta in Titan Reloaded 1.1. You should check out Vaulin(burt)'s site and you'll see why I went with his branch of iContact over supbro(Doug)'s.

Actually, looking at Doug's recent changes, it almost looks like he and Vaulin are sharing source. Has anyone compared this new version from doug to the one I have in 1.1?

Like paintballing said, adding tabs would be quite hard. Since there is an unused operator tab, it seems possible, but quite difficult, and it would be a hack, much like the landscape stuff available.

I didn't test the dialer, however I have tested dialers that looked identical to it that didn't support 911, I was just wanting to have it tested before it was added to the rom so that we don't inadvertently cause someone issues by not being able to dial 911.

I see that you already resolved the problem, but a hard reset likely would have solved this. You likely didn't need to change boot loader. I really should change the instructions to add a hard reset after the flash, but when flashing via USB, it doesn't pause at the end of the flash like when doing it by SD card, so it's hard to just do a hard reset right after the flash. Changing the instructions to flash via SD card would be too complicated for many.

I am really liking this release. But where is the Player and the Picture tab?

They're disabled by default. When Scott did this ROM, he only enabled the most popular tab/widgets, and the ones he personally uses, I think. I haven't touched those settings. Having tabs disabled that you don't use definitely saves memory. However, the biggest memory hog of them all, the weather tab, is enabled, so whatever. To enable other tabs, use M2DC from Programs.

There is one problem that I have found is with the alarm. When setting the alarm tone to something else beside the default one, it will not get play. It will just play the default alarm tone.

I haven't been able to duplicate this one. It works for me. What alarm tone are you trying, and does it work on the stock ROM?

How do I delete the files for that are the extra .tsk and theme files for M2D? They are in ROM but they take up too much space. What do I do?

I recommend using the kitchen and not selecting the extra M2D Themes or the extra Today Themes packages. I personally would leave them off, but the standard ROM is pretty much supposed to be a fully loaded one, as it's what most prefer. That likely won't change. You can customize the packages to your heart's content in the kitchen, though.

I finally got most of the files out of the Windows directory for M2D, and fully functioning. I do have to thank member jackleung for his research which saved me from throwing my phone against a wall when I couldn't get sounds under settings working.

I'm hopefully releasing 1.3 tonight. Sorry for the delay. It now boots without ANY windows theme at all. The default color scheme when no theme is loaded (not even the default "Windows Mobile 6.1.tsk") has a pleasant teal highlight. I don't dislike it, and I imagine that it speeds things up and makes for more memory with no today theme. However, for those that like the old settings, I've added an M2D today theme that you can load with the old settings.

The Scott M2D theme is now loaded via cab, in order to move most of the files out of \Windows directory. The only thing actually in the M2D package that is cooked into the ROM is now the M2D core application. This makes for a more time consuming first boot, as it takes a while to install this CAB, but I think the performance will make up for it.

I've tweaked the XIP boot image a little bit more by getting a tiny bit more memory and also tweaked some other things, like disabling filecompression (when loading apps into memory), which is supposed to free up memory, which I know sounds crazy, but apparently compressed apps must be loaded twice in memory, both compressed and uncompressed. I've also lowered the percent of RAM reserved for the filesystem to the minimum.

My next optimization projects will be optimizing HTC Album and Youtube, both of which put tons of files in \Windows. But this weekend, I don't want to do any more optimizations. I'll be trying out the Diamond keyboard, and I'll see if I can suitably repackage the above attractive dialer or a different one. Did mr-free actually dial 911 to test this out? "Oh, sorry, just testing out my new phone." :)

I really don't like the way this dialer puts like 50 files in \Windows when I just cleaned out a ton. If I can put the resource files in a resource DLL, I'll add it to the ROM. Can someone else can verify that it doesn't break 911? Also, how responsive is it?

I've also cleaned up the kitchen quite a bit. I removed Pocket RAR, and SPB Backup, as I really don't get why they were included. Pocket RAR is not a must have app, and SPB Backup is not freeware. I fixed the dsm files on all of the packages, which is ironic, as I've added all_packages_to_one to the build process, which combines all of the dsms and removes all of the rgus from the ROM. I'm releasing the kitchen though, so it shouldn't affect anyone's use. I removed the Manila 2D - White Diamond package, as it wasn't optimized and you can install this later from M2D if you want. This should prevent the confusion where some people were trying to install both of the M2D packages at once. I also renamed all of the packages to remove the spaces, as it seems to be the standard.

Okay, again I feel like a noob. Most likely because I am one... but anyways, Data connection won't connect... I think I remember reading what had to be done to fix it, but I can't remember where. Could anyone link me to that thread? or if you happen to know the solution off the top of your head then simply telling me would suffice.

Thanks.

Great work so far. I seem to have a small memory leak but im guessing that has to do with manilla. I was wondering if you can make the next rom not boot up activesync all the time? It would save alot more ram im guessing.

After you flashed your phone and ran through the first setup, did you install the carrier cab for your service provider? I know for sprint you will not have data access until the sprint cab is installed. If not, all of the carrier cabs can be found in Scott's ROM Pack in the My Documents folder after you run "Install ROM Pack". Hope you get it working.

Update: Flashed the first time and tflo .cab didn't install automaticly. No biggie though, just reflashed. after a re-flash everything is working perfect! after a clean reboot and oxios close apps I'm looking at about 51% CPU usage (3% less than before) and 23.25 free memory. All with touchflo installed. Thanks again, the ROM is flawless. If you want me to test anything for you just let me know.

wow nice I love it .. Thanks bitserve great job..

Scott (scrosler) gave me permission to branch off development of his M2D Round 4 Reloaded ROM, since he'd officially abandoned his Titan development. He's having too much fun with his new Touch Pro ROM cooking.

Titan Reloaded 1.3 is now out, with mostly just optimizations and tweaks.

Thanks to xda-developers and members scrosler, dcd1182, and no2chem.

I'm starting this thread to support the users of this branch. Thank you for trying it.

Thank you! I should have posted the kitchen here first for you to try out, before releasing it to the gen public. I'm fixing the DSM in the version 4 camera and I found another broken one on the speeddial package. Which is odd, because I don't even remember touching those ones. Anyway, I'm uploading 1.3.1 kitchen now. It should be done in a few, then I'll update the link. I've broken the link to the 1.3 kitchen.

I apologize for the confusion. I'm using the the same ROMUpdateUtility as the R4R ROM. I don't think you should have to do that.

I think it's likely that the image file is corrupted. Which is weird. I would have expected that redownloading should have resolved it. What version of WinRAR are you using? The RAR file should be 75,473,913 bytes after downloading, the RUU_signed.nbh 101,268,575 bytes.

I just re-downloaded and extracted using 7zip. Again, all seems ok until it reaches 100%, then error.

Yes I have flashed Reloaded 1.2 without problems before. Has anyone else flashed 1.3 successfully using Olipro 2.40?

I downloaded v1.3 kitchen, added a couple of my own oem's, didn't touch any of yours, and only unselected the 9pt scroll bars and it worked perfect, including the RUU included with the kitchen. Since I like to have some of the OEM's I use loaded, I almost never use pre-built roms. So can only provide insight on the kitchen. I did use 7zip to unzip it without any problems.

I flashed via USB and it worked fine. You want me to host the kitchen I have that worked?

bitserve

It looks like the kitchen was working fine when flashing using USB and ROMUpdateUtility because I didn't have the build process using the all_packages_to_one by default.

Apparently when I run all_pcakges_to_one to remove all DSMs and RGUs, the ROM caused the "Error [270]" when flashing via USB with ROMUpdateUtility, although flashing from SD card worked fine. I suspect that RUUGetInfo or nbhgen aren't compatible when doing this.

I spent 9 hours trying to get it working, and gave up and left the RGUs and DSMs in the standard ROM. Maybe next version. I've now also released a 1.3.1 ROM that works when flashing via USB.

Where did you get this "RUU with the verizon xv6800 logo"? My phone locks up as soon as I pick Beam File for a file in File Explorer.

I don't know what an ERI is, but I thought it was obvious that I had a Sprint Mogul. If you got 1.3 flashed, there is no need to go to 1.3.1. In fact, the 1.3 standard ROM should run smoother if you can get it installed, as it has been optimized by removing the DSM and RGU files. (The kitchen has no such advantage, unless you run all_packages_to_one after BuildOS.)

lol Well it put a few RUU together to make it .. MR2 RUU with R4R RUU
basically I took the "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" executable and put it in the
MR2 RUU folder .. remove all the *.nbh files and put your 1.3 Rom file
in there .. when I run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe it comes up with the
xv6800 logo ..

Also you are correct .. I did NOT wait for the Manila_2D_Scott.CAB to
complete its installation when I tried 1.3.1, only because it had loaded a lot
faster when I first did the 1.3 ROM ..

I am back with the 1.3 ROM again.. everything works without any issues .. also
IR works in both 1.3 and 1.3.1 .. and the windows logo button runs "start"
without issues.. the "ok" button never did run "start" on the vx6800 phones..

I think the old RUU run some type of check after it loads the ROM and failed the check?,

I tried what you said, and the MR2 RUU doesn't have a verizon logo, and it didn't install the 1.3 ROM without failing at 100% with Error [270].

However, I did determine that maybe since you weren't having IR problems, that maybe the problem was with the radio or the carrier cab. Thanks for the info. It did turn out to be the Sprint carrier cab. I've upgraded to a newer one and it no longer locks up.

Thanks for the info. I don't think you needed to reflash the bootloader or use the exitbl program. You could have just installed a different working ROM. You don't actually need an activie sync connection to flash via RUU and USB. You just need to have the USB cable connected and for the bootloader to say USB on the bottom.

R4R v20? Where did you see that? I feel like I'm in the twilight zone, because I just spent all night upgrading to 2DManila 1.0.1820.3328 from the new HK WWE Jade ROM. I also upgraded HTC Album to 2.5.1820.2622 and HTC Audio Manager to 2.0.1819.3326. I've also installed the new Youtube which supports full screen.

I've also decided to finally start moving further away from Scott's stuff. You'll find that 1.4 beta 1 has the Jade theme instead of Scott's. You can still switch themes though from M2DC. I've also installed the Jade volume control, and the missing audio booster (from the Jade).

Please give it a try, if you want. I am finding that v20 doesn't scroll between messages in text messages as well, and other scrolling between items. I'm seeing why Scott had stayed with the earlier version. I'm going to try to improve it, though. I'm uploading 1.4 beta 1 now. I'll be posting a link soon.

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

Installing seems a little slow... probably because of the CAB installs. No hang at 100%.

Memory: (After installing Verizon Cab, setting up local weather, and rebooting)

After Startup (with M2D running) 20.85 Meg free
O-Hybernate : 21.45 free
Weather : 20.65 free.

Hanh? I didn't downgrade anything. I'm still using the same verson of Windows CE from Scott/DCD's kitchen.

very happy I could help on that one ..

ahh .. hmm don't know why you don't see the xv6800 logo from MR2 rom,
did you do a full copy of the folder in the hidden temp dir it made? then make
the changes to the .exe files? I'll take some screen shots tonight showing
what comes up on mine.. don't think I over look anything but I'll redo it again tonight..

hmmm .. I guess Scott put 5.2.0 in his kitchen, if you load the R4R Rom it shows 5.2.2 don't know why
it would be diff unless the ROM version is newer than the kitchen?

OK MAJOR PROBLEMS HERE WITH THIS R4R Rom.

When I click on my email or text message to open them and hit replay I slide my keyboard open and the screen turns but it closes the message by itself. Then after a few seconds the screen turns back to portrait and the message remains closed. I then have to scroll back to messaging and redo the message WHILE STILL IN PORTRAIT MODE. The only way to make it landscape is to close the keyboard open it again before going back ot messaging. Also the ROM closes programs on its own to go back ot manila for no reason. It doesn't really close the program but it more like minimzies it. I don't know why it does it but it does. What should I do???????????

Try installing TitanReloaded 1.3.1 instead of R4R. The R4R ROM is known to close applications when "low on memory". I "corrected" that in TitanReloaded. The other problem seems like there's something wrong with your keyboard sensor. You may need to flash back to stock and see if you still have the problem, and if you do, which I suspect is the case, bring it in for service.

NO I have 1.3.1 installed. Its doing the close memory with your latest ROM. ITs weird cause this is a pretty new device considering I just had it replaced a few months ago do to another issues but the sensor definately doesn't seem to be broken. I am typing and all of a sudden it minimizes teh program, goes back to Manila, and turns portrait?

Can you elaborate on only WM6.1 apps?

Also does HTC Cam V5 not have a FLASH option?

I have tried to reinstall the OE ROM but I cannot make a connection to the pc.

Plug in the USB cable and put your phone in boot loader mode (hold camera and power buttons down and use the stylus to push down the reset button until you see the multicolor screen). Once you're at the boot loader, and you have a USB cable connected, the boot loader should say USB at the bottom. If not, then you may have a bad cable or device. If you need more help, you might start a new thread in the Titan forum asking for recovery help or read the docs.

Love the new update, runs faster than previous updates. One problem, there is no weather icons/graphics. I can add my city but there is no info or icons.

Do you mean the 1.4b1 or 1.3.1? I did the n2a hack on the 1.4b1 myself. It seems to work with my city. Are you sure you are editing the weathercities.xml file correctly, and did this same xml work in previous versions?

Thanks for taking the time to post those images. I must be blind though, because I don't see a logo anywhere. Maybe we both have different ideas of what a logo is? I see though that we have the same thing in the RUU folder as you had described. Only thing is I had removed the PPSTPatch.exe, since I didn't want it running accidentally. I'll readd it and try again. Thanks! If I can't dupliate it, I'm blaming your Vista. I'm still on XP.

the is a key pad fix that floating around .. do you think that may help him?

I'd never even heard of that fix. You're the Verizon expert. :) I just read the posts about that though, and the problem it seems to resolve is with some keypresses not working, not the sensor/notifications about the status of the keyboard. Speaking of which, jukebox, are you installing the sliding keyboard sound package?

Can you elaborate on only WM6.1 apps?

Also does HTC Cam V5 not have a FLASH option?

Can you elaborate on what you want me to elaborate on? The v5 camera came from a device that didn't have a flash. I'm trying to get a newer camera though, with flash. I personally hate flash photography, and the flash on this device doesn't even qualify as one anyway, so I still prefer the v5 camera without flash over the v4 one in the package.

That's normal and in the release notes/changes. I'm now installing most of the graphics from M2D as a CAB after install, to move the files out of \Windows. It's going to be slower to install, but afterward, the speed increase should be worth it.

Everyone:

I have some bad news for you. That's not in any M2D that I've seen. You may need to wait for M3D, which may never run well on this device. I did port over the latest 3D drivers from the jade in the beta out now, which I haven't had a chance to test thoroughly, but even with that, I think that M3D may simply use too much memory for our device.

However, with this new footprints app, I guess it's obvious that HTC is still developing the lighter M2D. Since their new device is running it, maybe they'll keep at it and add that Stock quote tab from M3D.

That's odd about the SMS sent message notification. The registry change is there for me, and it works for me. I wonder if it's not the new carrier cab that changed it. Which carrier cab did you install, or possibly different third party apps than normal?

One thing I did notice is that the most recent text message on the Messages tab actually gets marked as read when you view it, in this version of M2D. If you have more than one new text message though, and scroll back, it doesn't seem to mark the other ones as read, at least not consistently.

This may change when I get Arcsoft MMS working or removed.

Flashed the WM 6.5 Beta 4 last night and then M2D 1.4b1 this morning since I had to travel. I was using M2D 1.2 before and everything was perfect.

I need to find the audiopara cab fix since I've been spoiled with that being standard in recent ROMs. I also noticed sounds for new emails were off since pretty much the only thing I used it for today was outlook email via exchange and phone calls.

I've also noticed since the 1st ever M2D ROM that if I would get a new email and would hit the "email" button on the top left select which account and the new email it would close to the today screen then if I hit the email button again it would go straight to that email I tried to open. It's not a big deal and only happens 1 out of 10 times.

Also is there a cab that enables finger/stylus scrolling regardless of the app like in the previous ROMs? Even though it's pretty ghetto I kind of got used to using my finger nail to scroll through emails.

Thanks bitserve for helping the community!

I think ou would need to remove it from mxip_notify.vol. If you don't sync with an Exchange server, this is okay. However, many of the users of this ROM require that. I guess that I could make it a package that can be selected in the kitchen. Either an mxip_notify with or without it.

I've also noticed since the 1st ever M2D ROM that if I would get a new email and would hit the "email" button on the top left select which account and the new email it would close to the today screen then if I hit the email button again it would go straight to that email I tried to open. It's not a big deal and only happens 1 out of 10 times.

I did notice that I can't adjust the volume while in a call with the 1.4b1. It's continuously set to what seems to me to be loud. I didn't do anything on purpose to adjust the default e-mail notification settings. I do see that they're off by default in this ROM. You sure they were on before? I guess I need two phones if I'm going to have two branches of development. :) If it was on before, it might be due to the Arcsoft MMS, which is known not to allow you to open picture mail at this time. Well, I haven't verified it, but it's been reported.

Thanks for the feedback!

I just installed Scrufdog's audiopara.cab and it seems to be better now. It's hard to judge since the whole time I was in the car and had to have it on speakerphone and the back of the phone to my ear to hear anything.

MMS with Verizon works fine with me after installing GC VZW Arcsoft MMS 5.0.70.24.cab.

I used to use Sprint_20081020 after each flash. For 1.4b1 I started using Sprint_20090109 that was included in the My Documents folder. Other than that, all of the third party apps that I installed were the same as the ones I had on 1.1-1.3.1

For the message tab thing. Ive ran 1.0.1820.3328 for the past 3-4 months. While I was using R4R, it would mark the new messages as read, even while scrolling back, without any issues. I actually prefer it like that because I hate having to open the message after I just read it on the tab, just so that it marks it as read.

Ok, here is an odd one...

After installing 1.4b1, I can't seem to hear anything on the earpiece when making or receiving calls.

I can make a call fine, but the earpiece never kicks in, so you don't hear it ringing or when the person picks up. If I switch on speakerphone, I can hear them through the SP.

Now the odd part is that it's intermittent, in that I made calls since it first started and it was fine.

My wife is very frustrated because she kept trying to call me and I couldn't hear her :)

Any ideas? The only thing I can think of is that I had switched the phone to vibrate using the opal volume interface in a meeting, and it might have started happening shortly after...

I will try and monkey with it today, but I may have to go back to 1.3.1 :(

In the beta, I found that I couldn't adjust volume with wheel. You likely have your volume set to 0 and just need to click on the volume icon and adjust the phone volume.

Bitserve, thanks for taking up the reigns for M2D Reloaded! This my favorite rom so far. I flashed the 1.4 beta rom and noticed that I can't adjust the brightness settings. Any suggestions? I realize the beta will have some bugs. Thanks!

Thanks for the report. I'll try to duplicate this, but it would help to know if it played fine on the phone. I believe that many people were having this problem with the dcd kitchen, but I hadn't tested it or tried to fix it yet.

Hmmm....not sure I want to install a new ROM to resolve the issue with the ear piece volume.

Besides, that's an older Radio so it would have other negative consequences....

The 1.3.2 stable version of the ROM and kitchen is out now! Check out all of the changes, including the diamond keyboard (thanks to DupinBJK's CAB packages, which I OEMed), IR beam fix, volume increases, and the new kernel from the new Iolite device (thanks to chavonbravo for sharing this new ROM).

So I'm starting to notice what appears to be a memory leak in 1.41b.

I last soft reset about 3 days ago. The only thing I have installed that isn't stock with the rom is g-alarm. On first boot I have about 21 megs free. Last night my phone was running pretty slow but I didn't even look in to it because I was busy. I checked it this morning and I only had 6mb free. Task manager showed nothing running. I ran Oxios Hibernate and it only freed up 200kb.

Also with mms. I had someone send me a picture message (sprint to sprint) and all I got was the standard text telling me I had picture mail. I tried sending one and I'm prompted with 5 options

1) SMS \ MMS. It is greyed out. I can't click it
2) My pop3 email. This isn't what I want
3) MMS (SMS \ MMS). When I tried using that after clicking send about 5 seconds later I get "Unable to send your message. Your message will remain in Drafts folder."
4) Voicemail. Not what I want
5) Setup a new account

I know someone earlier had reported issues with arcsoft, and I just wanted to confirm it. I was unable to send one or receive one (without clicking on the link and going to the webpage and everything). On sprint at least.

bitserve the same thing happened to me again when loading 1.3.2
try and see if you can replicate it ..

load your pre-built ROM .. do not touch the phone at all during the
ROM load and install process .. even if the screen goes blank!!

the phone will reset and then TouchFLO will try to start but fail!!

The only way I found is to keep the phone alive during the install and customizing process ..

I think if you extend the device sleep time .. this may resolve that issue?

Also what’s up with the extended ROMs installed by default?

overall 1.3.2 is damm sweet .. GPS works for all software without loading any GPS cabs
so far very stable ..

Hands down the BEST Titan WM6.1 Rom .. Thanks again keep up the great work!!

I would like to see the version of Manila you have in your beta get moved to the 1.3.x tree, as it's by far the best version of M2D I've seen yet, it shows voice mails on the main screen now, seems to work very smoothly and even includes the full screen volume controls. Can you move this version to 1.3.x to get away from the other bugs in the beta? Or is it the M2D version you are using that is causing the bugs.

Also, how close to a kitchen are you with 1.4? Or do you not plan to release kitchens for beta roms.

Thanks,

BTC

I loaded the 1.3.2 today and it works pretty good. I tried to use the M2DC app and change the theme. I think I selected something that didn't have a picture and it locked up and I had to reset to get out of the app.

After doing that, my Touch Flo is no longer on the start screen and I can't find where to try and get this back. Do I have to reflash and everything to get back to square one?

looking at the idle setting .. screen it set to 30sec and 1min when plugged in ..

Ok, 1.3.2 seems pretty smooth. Two things I noticed so far 1.The screen goes blank when I place a phone call. 2. If I slide out my keyboard to respond to a text message, the Home Screen pops back up.

Anyone seen this?

They show up when I'm installing a cab as a location for me to install to.
