My only concern with this UI is battery drain.
Please keep that in mind when you code it D-MAN666.
Would be a shame to reach v1.0 someday and find that it drains the battery in ½ a day.

Simple and effective works great on my MDA4- was getting soo bored of TF3d and almost went back to bare WinMo.

I thought my battery life was much worse, it seems to drop to about 50% in no time, but I think that was because I was playing with the interface and fiddling with settings and setting up other application.

Iv now used it for a few days as normal and the battery is lasting around a day, which is about the same as what I was getting before.

For some reason though I do feel like the battery drains a bit faster than standard when your actually doing stuff on the phone.

could you make a .cab which would modifys the top windows taskbar and install the same icons as an iphone, i don't think it would be difficult and your iterface would look nicer , course it's not a manila change but no prob for a dev like u ;p

I have the same issues as most here with this test release, but I mostly just wanted to say that this is cool as hell. You did a really great job with the visual aspects, especially the animations being so perfectly smooth. This really show what these devices are capable of in terms of smooth interfaces and, unfortunately, show how little developers are taking advantage of the hardware here.

1) landscape support (for touch pro, accelerometer and opened keyboard)
2) option to link icons to anything and not just the programs installed (for example I would like direct links to sms, settings, call history, separate mail accounts)
3) create a favorite contacts feature where pics of friends would be in icons.
4) change background/wallpaper
5) live status on the icons (sms, calls, mail, calendar, weather)
6) option to freeze the 4 bottoms icons
7) option to resize to more/less icons per page
8) option to increase-decrease size/delete/rename font under icons
9) option to autolock after a set-up amount of time instead of having to press "home" (which should be renamed "lock" btw)
10) and if possible in the future: get rid of windows bars so we have more room for an extra row of icons

If i install this interface and i get bored of it, can i uninstall, and go back to default ToucFlow 3D?

You can't...

To get your TouchFlo 3D UI back delete all *_manila files from windows directory. The original files will then be restored automatically.

This is a great little application. I did experience crashes when trying to add an icon but other than that it looks promising. I will definitely keep an eye on this. By the way I'm using touch pro. Thank you for your work.

What an incredible app... Once the crashing bug for adding icons is fixed, I'll be using this one exclusively. Once e-mail and sms notification bubbles for those respective icons get added in, I doubt many of us will use TF3d by choice anymore. GREAT JOB!

you copy the files inside the device folder... so it should be windows and application data that are being copied

first GR8 APP !!!!!!! I luv it, fast and no crashing for me !!

But I have 2 problems which I cant handle....

1. Where do I have to copy the NewSMS.ink to get it into the application list? Please gimme a short asskick ;)

2. Is there any possibility to include a weather agent? I saw the Accuweather Icon on some pictures here, is it just a shortcut to the homepage? Is there the possibility to do a little screen with just the weather details, no TF3D crap? I saw a screen from a guy in here which created a non TF3D Skin with a weather screen....

Great app. It crashes sometimes when i add icons. If you randomly rearrange the icons it doesnt crash. Also once you get the icons set it works fine.

Hey everyone
I just installed the idiamond Project. v.0.2b..

LOVE IT!! looks and works the best out of all the iphone apps ive found (like i phonz)

anyways.. a HUGE issue has occured!

Any app that has something to do with browsing like Text msg.. or OPERA or Internet expoler doesnt work.. it totally freezes my phone when i try to 'ADD' and i have to soft reset the device.. so i investigated further and thought maybe the apps running on the original TouchFL3D Theme wont work on idiamond.. example.. Camara.. and Picture Video Viewer. sure enough those apps froze my phone as well!!... whats going on.....
please help!!

hmm weird
now I changed the manila file and after I received a new sms, there appears a new shortcut (like the one one from the Tabs) with the green "1" on it. When I click on it nothing happens and it will also not disappear after I've read my message....how do I get it to work?

for the time being clicking the icons you added in (sms, calendar, email and clock included) won't do anything when you click them. the underlying manilla programs need modified for them to work properly. add a shortcut to messaging and read your messages from there.

D-Mann please note if you can to somehow edit it for the htc touch pro :)
because when i slide my keyboard out, it basically rotates the screen and stops me from using like 4 apps and the slider bar. and leaves a blank area to the left.

It is definetly doable, but at the moment the only things I can find work only on WM2003 and WM5. There was one that claimed to work on WM6, but it just froze my start bar, didnt remove it.

It must be possible though.

It's really good, but it needs a lot of improvements.

The block screen really needs to be full screen, otherwise it's useless.

I really like the animation while it's loading an aplication, visually it's great.

Everytime i add an icon it asks me to send error to Microsoft...

great app, i love it ;) runs faster than tf3d and is much more usable in normal daily use.

Just one request for next release - When starting mortscripts / wlan-on-off.exe or any other app that works in the background the startup animation appears and turns the screen into white until you press home button. Could u either give us an option, to turn of those startup animations completely or even better for several buttons?

And a small tipp! If any of you guys search good iphone icons, just go to http://www.deviantart.com/ and search for "iphone icons" there are several really good collections (i downloaded about 10 of them) which work like a charm ;)

I have read the entire thread but need help on a couple things:

1. SMS and EMAIL shortcuts- I have no idea how to code in manila can someone please create a step by step on how to create shortcuts for these functions. (link from first post is to a Russian site...link for English version?)

Also another issue that I have not seen anyone post. When you launch a program that just does something, but does not load anything I.E. I have a program that toggles the LED flash light on and off, Blue tooth on and off etc. It goes to a plain white screen, the home button does not bring me back (Touch Pro) i have to click on task manager and then it goes back to home screen.

I have no problem with your decision and I'm very grateful for your work. Like I said before, I'm very impressed with a beta working so smoothly. I just thought that it would be fair to put a disclaimer or warning about the lockout beforehand. IE; "x days to test this app". I don't see how that would affect anything whatsoever. If anything, there would possibly be faster responses/feedback due to the short amount of time testers could use the software. Obviously there are already users feeling alienated about this so called secret lockout. Not sure if they matter or that you care, but I believe this could have been avoided if nothing was kept secret? Am I making any sense?

BTW, this is far from laggy lousy crap :). Other than the add shortcut crash and missing features, everything works well enough for everyday use. I think this is why people are getting upset. Let's face it, you released something pretty special!

Easiest way would be to use manila editor and open the files in the device folder

in my opinion this is the best UI, yet. Even though it's beta it's smooth and fast.
I think that's the most important thing to me. It just has to work.

I have some questions, too:

1. I can not remove the clock icon, is there a way to remove it or does it have a function?

2. It would be great to have a On/Off option for the home screen and the unlockbar, is this option planned for the future?

3. Have you considered to coop with other developers or projects? I was thinking of a new ROM or a CAB-File collection with S2U2, iDiamond Project and others to build a iphone-suite for all WM Users. That would be great =)

Thanks for telling us it will end soon. It is by far the most superior UI i have ever used. I can tell you already that i will miss when i have to go back to the tf3d or other junk UI like the Bell UI or mobile shell which to me is ugly although functional. What exactly will happen when the beta ends?

My question got totally baried under comments about the expiration so I will repeat as they have not been answered in thread yet:


I have read the entire thread but need help on a couple things:

1. SMS and EMAIL shortcuts- I have no idea how to code in manila can someone please create a step by step on how to create shortcuts for these functions. (link from first post is to a Russian site...link for English version?) [German site]

2. New SMS and EMAIL notifications- I have seen some coding but again, no idea how to do this can someone please create a step by step instruction for this as well.

I now understand how the shortcuts are created and placed (although there was no example for sms or email in that second post by dman). The results are along the lines of creating a short cut of a program, problem is i dont know where the .exe for phone, sms, or email are located.

Also i cant find how to create the icons with numbers for missed calls and sms.

I am a total noob, i have read the entire post and have done google searches but cant seem to find the answers...

I don't think so, this is only an application... so it can't overwrite.
Just uninstall and then you're finished! :)

Easiest way would be to use manila editor and open the files in the device folder

Hey guys, listen to me sometimes :) It's not about call history (it's actually bundled with ANY tf3d, but not added to the tab list), it's about calendar icon, which is (obviously) not present in stock manila.

Yo DMAN this a great application man, its running sweet on my diamond and im really liking it.
Been reading some others posts about future things, like the inclusion of missed calls and texts, that would be good, and im looking forward to seeing what you do with this app in the future.
I can only think of a few things i would like to see that could possibly make this even better..

-On the Diamond Touch, when you have your iSlide Lock "on", the screen is protected, but the physical soft-key button for "call" can still be clicked, so could be activated by mistake in the pocket.

-The fish wallpaper image used on the iSlide Lock, be nice to be able to change that, i couldnt find that image when i looked [?]

-Currently where you can pick your applications to add to the screen, it would be good to be able to add a "folder" icon to the screen. Personally i was thinking i would like to be able to add a link to my "games" folder, so i could have that one icon, rather then currently where i have multiple icons to each of my games.


Great application though and it works really well i find, top draw!

Well i hadnt been on in a while ... and my diamond was just left in a corner for a month or 2 as I didnt like the Diamond interface and couldnt be botherd carrying it around... But with this interface my diamond has a new life .. really, even if you didnt create anymore of the UI and just left it as it is with the app launcher it would still be perfect ... yh thats how much I like it ... As you already know how your going to improve this I wont go on repeating you... Also the only known bug is when it hangs after adding an app ... only happend 2 or 3 times to me and ive been using it for 3 or 4 hours now so not bad...

I would be willing to donate to your iphone fund if you want so you can create the interface quicker...

A PayPal account would be best ... even if PayPal is not allowed in your country I suggest using a VCC to verify the account and then using the money donated to purchase an iphone of eBay and get it deliverd to your country :)

Do let me know if I can help you with this and you have $80 from me through PayPal if you want.

Is a known problem and very common for an early beta but this program is real awesom and it uses less resources dan the original touchflo3d i sure stick with it and hope to see a nice developement.

When you ad a new shortcut scroll the list down to the end.
Then ad a shortcut near the end and do it slowly.
That works for me!

Yes, that's what i proposed in my first post :) But i'm kinda newbie for this forum, so i can't point out someone specifically "trustworthy". So, please, guys who are interested in supporting this proj, decide who will handle fundraising, by yourself, okay? :)

Note: donations/fundraising mean no obligations from my side re time-locked betas, release timelines, features, etc. Except two things:

i'm not sure wich files hold the calls icon, editing _manila files from ManilaCustomizer.cab -> icons is the way I do. I know that is not the fastest way but it works for me xdd

I agree, super quick and clean. But a strange approach to development. Especially the comment on the legal issues involved that was made in a latter post.

Ok so, believe it or not I read this entire post from page 1 today... Took 3 hours, lol! Anywho, Dman, iDiamond is friggin awesome and I cant wait for the full version to arrive. Thanks for all your hard work. I do have a suggestion or whatever though. The home screen aka lock screen should be changed to something useful or just be deleted. I say this because first and formost S2U2 is fully customizable and comes with great extra features, but secondly your slide to unlock screen doesnt really lock the device. The start menu is still accessable while the lock screen is on. If I understand correctly you cannot fix that due to not being able to get rid of the WM task bars in Manilla. Other than that you did great though! Keep up the good work for sure!

Thanks for letting us test out the beta. I really enjoyed trying it out. Ill keep checking back to get the official release in a couple months I guess. If you find a way to get paypal let me know I really want to donate something.
