[THE] Colour Focus Cabs - incl. landscape, comm & audio manager - NEW BURGUNDY

I have downloaded some of the focus color change files from XDA and found that they were very incomplete, missing many of the other 'green' elements in vanilla black manila, so I made a new one, which includes the focus elements for the landscape icons too. It also has a reg edit to change the enlarged start menu and task manager highlights to gray.

PLEASE NOTE THESE FOCUS FILES ARE INTENDED TO BE USED ON STOCK HTC TF3D MANILA - I cannot gurantee how they will work with Sprint TF3D etc

This is a new thread tidying up my original one with reserved posts below to add the additional colours and images (and as a Canadian I am going to spell colour 'correctly' !)

I have Light (powder) Pink and Blue, Red and Orange so far. Charcoal, purple, light yellow, hot pink, light green, blue and more will follow over the next few weeks.

I will also be seeing if there is an easy way to change the focus colours in the HTC Camera and Album apps

Full theme creators feel free to use my files, though please a) PM if you going too, and b) credit me somewhere

Please report any bugs glitches to me and I will fix them. I am aware that some of my colours have lost the 'gloss' look of the highlights, I will work to return that more in my future colours

EDIT small fix in red focus for opera highlight red to match other reds

EDIT I will be fixing up a few pixel errors (can only be seen if you look closely) on some of the coloured button icons

EDIT Purple focus is updated slightly, the highlight on the opera focus has been toned down

EDIT I am still having problems with the focus on the opera globe - I have removed carbon and aqua cabs for now until I solve the issue. If anyone downloaded them and used them can you please report either by posting here, or by PM, if the focus on the opera globe worked for you.

Hi, I currently have the Dark Red theme (found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2560150&postcount=661), but I am trying to add all the little things such as selection colors.

I've extracted the Comm Manager selection buttons from the Xen Red theme (found here: http://www.archy.net/2008/11/15/xen-theme/), I've attached them here if anyone else wants them.

What I'm looking for is the selection for the Comm Manager in this type of red. Here are a few screenshots of my current red selection. If possible, I would like the Comm Manager to match.

the comm and audio manager focus files are not 'manila' files - they are simply png's in your windows folder on the device (at least they are on my ROM), so just changing the manila files doesn't change everything. Here are the file names that you need to edit

It seems like for example on the audio manager you have the highlight is the dark red, yet the buttons are a brighter red, and on the comm manager the highlight is grey and the selector is red...

try copying those files from your phone and opening them in PS and you should be able to copy the colour levels from an image that is the correct red and apply it to the others.

If you are sucessful uploading a zip to this thread with the above files in the dark red would be great

you just uninstall the cab and restart TF3d in the today screen (or soft reset) and you are back to whatever your ROM has stock

A dark and mid blue will come down the road...maybe next week

Thanks for the info, I'll try that, however, what formatting do I need to have for the png files? I can try to just open an existing file and edit it and hope the formatting stays. I'm pretty proficient in Photoshop.

No formating, just open and edit, if you change the one layer....of course additional layers need to be merged etc, then just save it again

I backed up ALL my .png and .bmp files from my \Windows\ directory onto my computer, and I'm not sure which files are relevant to the Comm Manager selection image. I looked at all the files you mentioned above, but many of them are different icons. The only ones that seem like they may work are P_Button_Down.png and P_Button_Focus.png.

On another note, I can't find the red selection images I currently have on other areas of the phone. Is there another directory I should look in?

the files I listed were all the png files (including the radio buttons etc) I could find in my rom that seemed to be related to the comm and audio manager (since they share files) There are probably ones in that list not required, but I edited them all anyways and put them in the cab...

the other files for the red selections in other parts of manila are the regular .manila files that you need to use a program like manila editor to extract the png out of

That is a good questions, since I only have a diamond....

if you can try it on a blackstone (it won't mess anything up if it doesn't work, just uninstall and reset) and let me know if it is compatible that would be great

I looked at what I would have to do to get a more pronounced glossy look to some of the focus, and it looks like it is more than simply chaging the hue in PS of the correct png's , but more like redoing them entirely which is a bit more work than I have time for right now....so I am going to continue making them as is for now, then I will go back later and perhaps make my own from scratch....I am planning on doing some complete Manila themes eventually that will be modular

Am I the only one here that likes green but doesn't have it?:confused: I've been searching threads as well as using the search function and am disappointed to find out that having green selections/highlights and green sms bubbles are from th stock ROM that I don't have. I have stock Sprint yellow. I came across threads with options for blue, gray and now red, as well as lots of people saying they don't even like green.:eek: Since green is already out there, somewhere, will someone please be kind enough to point me in the right direction? Or share the stock manila files?:o (not complete manila, just for the green sms/e-mail bubbles and highlights.)

AS for the poster asking about the stock green highlights - if you download a kitchen that has the manila files in it you could take the manila files for the green highlight from a Telus or stock manila and make a cab from them without having to modify them - if I was at my home pc I could tell you the manila file names, but if you download one of my other colours and open the cab up you can write down the manila file names and look for them in a stock manila folder - keep in mind they are hidden files so you need to adjust your windows settings to see them - and to make a installation cab from the files that you find put them in a folder then use a trialware cab maker program like

You're a GENIUS! It seemed simple enough so I took your advice and came up with exactly what I was looking for! I still don't know how to create a .cab file so I just backed up my manila files (the ones I was going to replace) and put the new manila files into my windows folder and did a sot reset. and BAM! I'm posting the files i singled out and and extracted so anyone can place them in their windows folder. Or so anyone can create a .cab file. Enjoy if you've been looking for this as I have. :D

I finally have posted some new ones, see the beginning of this thread

Gold - Yellow
Carbon - Dark Grey
Deep Purple
Aqua Green

I have not bothered with the registry setting for the enlarged start menu and task mananger, since I can never get the registry settings right to match my focus colours, so if you want to change them you need to find out how somewhere else on the forum.

I have not made the tab under the icons on the lower curtain in these new colours yet, but will eventually.

I was also intially having problems with the focus on the opera globe and was using one method, which causes a delay, to fix this. I have now changed to the 'correct' way that should not have the slght pause you would get when selecting the globe anymore - the new colours are not affected - HOWEVER the old Red, Light Blue and Pink are and will be fixed later - I have included a Ver5 of the Orange files that have this bug fixed

Next up will be a deep green and blue, a darker 'hot' pink and a silver grey -which are almost done - then later will be a deep red or burgundy, another yellow and blue, perhaps a brown or tan

but in my haste to get screen shots I was installing my cabs over top of each other without uninstalling or hard reseting between them.

to AVOID ANY ISSUES uninstall any previous TF3D focus changes so you are back at the stock settings prior to installing one of mine

These are really great. I am using the dark blue and loving it. One thing I miss tho is the yellow indicator on the messaging tab when I get a new text message or email. It is now also dark blue and harder to see. Anyway I can keep this indicator yellow? Thanks

wow I have some pretty demanding users - I can't customize my cabs for everybody :)

However in this case since I have already made a yellow focus I have the manila files you can simply put manually in your windows folder...however I am not sure which one of these 3 circle files are the one for the SMS notification, so you'll have to try them all

you uninstall like any other program, then reset your phone and it is back to green

That was done with a theme.

I, as in me drsquid, have not posted a 'dark red' cab file as of yet.

if you know what manila files need to be edited you could have a go at creating your own with manila editor and photoshop

no those highlights are part of your windows theme, andare registry settings in the caseof the htc large start menu and task manager

my cabs just change the manila highlights

there are other threads about these settings, since I don't remember the details on how to do this - try the big customizing TF3D sticky

Well, I just tried the new burgundy cab on my Rhodium Manila, and had mixed results. On the Home tab, I lost the highlight when pressing the clock (which now goes to World Clock - a new TF3D2 feature), but the highlight below the clock on the calendar items was burgundy.

The color of my unread mail indicator was burgundy.

The entire Calendar tab highlight remained green.

The internet tab had burgundy highlight when pressing the globe to launch the browser. I didn't try the Push Internet links.

At least that tells me that there are some manila files duplicated, so once I have time i'll just have to rip the files from a rhodium manila oem and figure out which ones are new, but it seems like it won't be too many...I was however going to wait until the 'real' topaz manila is released before doing any work that might be undone with differences between rhodium and topaz manila

Great, it seems I will have not too much work to do. I have already compiled all the focus files from TF3d, including the calendar and new contacts, new notification and pop up ,menu, so it looks like it can get this done fairly fast.

I also also be offering CFC compressed versions

For people not running TF3D I will still keep the originals avaible in this thread, but will not make any new colours

Hmmm the progress bar on my opera build, 9.5.15954, is grey, so I guess that is build dependant and not editable

If you are referring the the Calendar screen in TF3D 2 (rhodium manila etc) I haven't got round to adding that to my cabs - you don't mean in windows mobile calendar, or the calendar add on tab for regular TF3D ?

As far as the coloured 'tab' behind the icon I will work on making those and post some later tonight if I have time

hmmm can't tell you why it's not working....other than perhaps the fact that I build mine from files in a CDMA Kitchen - perhaps some GSM roms use different manila files ?

Perhaps another GSM rom user could post whether my cabs work for them

I can email dark blue tab as a manila file that you need to drop into your windows folder, and stop and restart TF3D, PM me your contact info

A question: I changed the color of my top and bottom bars of my Fuze using UI Tweaker. But, oddly, instead of being able to create a custom color using RGB codes (like the rest of UI Tweaker), it only allows me to approximate the color I want along a color scale (so I get a royal blue, but not a dark blue to match your color). Do you know of a way to have more control over the top and bottom bar colors?

BTW, can you give me the RGB codes for your dark blue? Perhaps you know the registry tweaks for the taskbar and softkey bar?

I am not sure of the registry settings for winows mobile theme changes, but I am sure it would be easy to search xda - also keep in mind that if you use the htc large start menu and task manager you need to change the reg settings for those too

When I made my colours I used the Colourize tool in Photoshop - the Dark BLue is Hue 220, Saturation 50 and lightness - 30 - , which translates to RGB of 20,27,41 - hope this helps you fixing the top and bottom bars colours

my cabs are not going to work on the touch HD !!! These are, and are tested for the diamond or touch pro only running TF3D 1 - my cabs will partially work on the xbmod rhodium manila beta, and will be converted to work on a VGA topaz manila for a diamond when it comes out, but never for the Touch HD

Since I was using photoshops colourize tool to a already dark image (I took the green highlights, desaturated them then ran the colourize tool) I am not sure of the exact rgb value for the blue, since there are multiple shades in each image - you could always try using the colour picker tool in photoshop on an area of blue that is closest to the overal blue of the scheme - and see what the values are it get quite a few - though looking at 22 22 82 it looks pretty good - but you could try 6 19 53 or 16 23 49....there are so many shades of blue in each focus image !

partially - it doesn't matter wether you have 6.1 or 6.5 since this is a modification for TF3D, not windows mobile - however my cabs will not change 100% of the focus colours in TF3D2 - I am working on new ones for that

I've installed the Oraage focus cab, very nice!

I wonder if anyone can help me with UITweaker. I used this to change the colour of Selected Text background to Orange to be more in keeping with the new orange look.

Somewhere along the line I've managed to do the following:
a) The background colour of Menus are now black, e.g. File Explorer right softkey menu
b) the background colour of Contacts/Calendar is now black with black text!
c) When installing cabs the screen background colour is black with black text!

I've been thru all the options in UITWeaker and changed the odvious entries to white, but this has had no effect.

Can someone please advise of specific items to change.

I've used UI Tweaker with great success. It has several screens, TdyScheme, SysColor, and WM5Color, and there is some overlap. My guess is that haven't changed the correct screen.

I would just experiment with changing SysColor and WM5Color, and you'll find the answer there.

i never made a carbon tab, since the stock tf3d one is kinda a dark grey anyways

I am going to make the new ones - I was really hoping a real VGA TF3D2 would be out by now, since I don't want to waste time making something for the beta one, and have to re do they again

I was referring to TF3D2, or Rhodium or Tpoaz Manila, that is still not properly ported to VGA. I have made all the cabs I am going to do for stock TF3D, what come on the touch pro 1...

Anyways I will be upgrading to a TP2 as soon as it is released and will be making focus mods for that too

I use them with no problem on my EnergyROM 3.0 with TF3D2.

They look great. I would combine with UITweaker to get all of the colors consistent.

BASICALLY - I started making this for myself because the one's that were posted did not change all the green on my phone - seeing as a couple of quick reads of posts showed me that it is easy to do - abeit time consuming - I decided to make more....however since life and work has made it hard for me to make any more lately - guys, if you want a certain colour it's really not that hard to do and no more than an evenings work !

Sorry that I have not updated for a while - but I have not forgotten !

those are controlled by your windows mobile 6.1 or 6.5 theme, that is changes in the today menu.

any highlights you see in folders or views that are not part of Manila/TF3D are controlled by the windows M 6.1 or 6.5 themes found in the home screen settings, I am afraid my cabs do not have the files for those included, but a lot of newer ROMS here have multiple themes that you can choose from that might include one that has highlights that match mine
