Updating to latest radio causes phone to freeze while entering boot loader

The title says it all,

I am trying to update from 1.46.30.11 to 1.56.70.11 but when i select yes to download the file "enterbootloader.exe" to my phone it turns off and wont turn back on unless you remove the battery for a couple of seconds and than replace.

Any ideas welcome.
