OK, I'm running Windows XP on my PC.
I've gone through the down grading, unlocking and reloading with Windows IPL/SPL 2.26 and put the phone in the RGB screen and USB is plugged in.
Downloaded Hornets WM6.1
Downloaded jZip so I could open the RAR file.
Now what? All the times I've uploaded a new OS, I just clicked on it. Not sure how the RUU and all the files in the package play out. Can someone walk me through it, please? I tried reading through the 100 some odd pages of posts, but have yet to see anything as ramedial as I appear to require.
Thanks!

Simple method! :p
Download the Rom you want to upgrade,it'll be in a zipfile, extract it using winRAR,you'll get an unzipped folder, open that folder,in it there will be all the files alongwith exe file called 'RUU',just run this RUU (RomUpdateUtility) exe application,it'll start to flash.
Don't forget to hook up your phone with pc via usb cable before running the rom :p
Hope you have already got the phone CID unlocked ?

You sure that you are CID unlocked? Also, does your device connect fully to Activesync? IE, does the green arrows stop moving in the system tray?

Yeah, I went through the CID unlock process and got sucessfull reboots after each step and then reloaded the T-Mobile 2.26.
Yes, I've tried it synced and I've tried it from the RGB screen. USB was plugged in and working both times.
After I unzip the files, should they be copied to the C: directly? Is there some program I should be running from my MDA?
Also, I'm running ActiveSync 4.5. Should I be logging in as a guest?
Thanks, ya'll!

easy you need to substitute your ruu for a noid ruu.
download this files (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=52404&d=1190997171)
and substitute the files in rom folder

I think that did the trick! Thanks, Boss! I hope I did it right...I just copied all those files into the packet I downloaded for the current Hornet ROM upgrade and just clicked romupdateutility and away it went!
Thanks again! You rock!
