Hi,
I'm always overwhelmed with your work and I would like to have this stuff on my HTC. However with the last versions of your rom (e.g. R4) Automapa 5.0 GPS software doesn't work anymore. I know that this niche software and I don't expect you will bother about this issue, however I wonder whether there are any changes in R5 which could influence the use of GPS module so it will be worth to give it a try, flash my Polaris with the R5 and check if it works or not.
Unfortunately replaycing Automapa with other software is not an option for me.
Great work and I keep fingers crossed that one day...:)

Well, I have some wishes (no demands!) regarding to the new rom.

My wishlist::D

1. Multi-language roms in FRE/ITA/GER/SPA/WWE (maybe you can work something out with M-Anime)<---Priority!!:)

2. get the Volume control of the W100-cable remote to work with the audio manager in m2dc

3.Audio playback in stand-by mode

4. Maybe a light version of the rom with basic apps (opera, PiMBckup,RSS..)
so that everybody can customize his PPC the way he likes.

maybe you can consider or you have already considered some of these wishes. Even if not, keep up the good work!!

Is it possible to make 2 versions: one with Opal dialer (that you usually include in your ROMs) and another with 3G dialer? From my experience installing new dialer over the dialer integrated in ROM is not always successful.

It's been a rebirth of my phone and a new look on Windows Mobile Platform. I totally love your ROM, highly appreciate your efforts,and all of XDA team's support. Can't wait for R5.

I think it has to do something with using GPS to optain information about points of interest in the area (restaurants, hotels, gas stations). GEO could come from "Geostationary Earth Orbit Satellites". Not sure if I'm correct.... we shall see.

I think with footprint and geoservice you can do a foto with positioning data and the pictures can be used for navigation to the photographed location. Maybe, but I not sure. We must wait... :D

1.64... that's an old radio in fact it's a htc kaiser radio but it's compatible with our cruise. Probably udk's rom will work fine with 1.59... new radio.

I went to use my TouchCruise today and it gave my an attitude, like a spoiled wife:
"you promised me new ROM by the end of 2008, now give me my udk R5 or get your fingers out of my LCD"

I have nothing but joy with my TC. In my user experience all ROMs need loving. When you flash the new ROM don't just install everything that gets posted. Feel your phone, test it, push it to the limit...., then if you got an issue post the issue and the community will help. Same make & model phone does not have same issues, and always twik you phone for your use.:)

Whats so great about google maps? I cant undestand. You need an internet connection to get maps which is a rip-off. How about TomTom which bundles with the phone and has stored maps?

It's just a gadget :) Here in The Netherlands we have unlimited data traffic on HSDPA so internet is not a big deal here..

I agree with u and I know udk replies very rarely to comments or requests which is very impolite in my opinion but considering he's developing extremely stable and good roms I think he's excused..

The question that I'm asking for abt a month now is whats everyone waiting for that the rom development has stopped for polaris? Is htc about to release some new drivers/rom any time soon or the xda devs abt 2 finish working on the 3d drivers? Or is it as u said the polaris has run its course..? :(

You know everyone for the last couple of months or more has been worried and complaining that the cooks are all leaving this device and going to another and we have a cook that was trying to let us know that he is still active and working on a ROM, maybe something to look foward to. but you know these people also have real lives outside of here and maybe there has been other circumstances that has delayed him outside of here. Comments like the "vaporware" just isnt a comment that needs to be said. if you cant wait for a cook to complete his project there is always Kitchens listed here to cook your own on your own schedule.

And I absolutely agree. You guys are forgetting that this should be FUN. These Cooks are giving as ROMs that help us love and have fun with our PPC devices. If they stop cooking, GUESS WHAT? we are stuck with Original Microsoft OS, and I doubt anyone comes to this site to get Original MS ROM.

is htc moving a step backward. u developing a new touch cruise with no 3d. no video calling and u expect someone to switch from the old cruise to this new one. for what. all we need is a new rom upgrade. htc has gone crazy just like the new g2. its like they layed off there design team during the development of that ugly ass phone.
htc constantly keeps making new phone and neglecting the old ones. thats why people move to iphone. apple continues to upgrade that one phone and make it better and better. not htc. all they do is make another phone and we being so fucking stupid just run and buy it for 1000 dollars and then complain.

Funny they would call it Touch Cruise though. HTC must really like the name, or they don't have a big enough creative department to come up with a new one!!

I don't think HTC is expecting any of us Polaris owners to buy this new Touch cruise many of their new qvga devices are mainly sold countries where HTC doesn't have a big marked. HTC did not release Opal or Jade in Denmark because of the succes of Diamond so my guess is the Touch cruise 2 will not be released in many european countries. HTC want's us to buy the more expencive devices like HD or MAX 4. but then again who cares we have udk and in time someone will give us a dumped rom that can be recooked without the roblem we had dumping the udk's Opal rom :D

I'm also quite shure that as with the Opal/Jade the Touch cruise 2 rom can be ported and work almost out of the box for Polaris.

Sure, they call it that to public. But internally it's known as HTC Iolite. And the HTC Iolite is really a Jade with different casing and polaris-like scroll wheel. If you had access to Jade service manual, you'd know.

besides, a better or newer ROM does still not solve the problem of our polaris not having 2d-acceleration... and as I saw, some cooks even removed the 3d-drivers from their latest versions: so, a new ROM will perhaps only look nicer, but not more...

He has announced it one MONTH ago!!! in the meantime other cooks released ROMs with footprint who haven't announced it month before!
I hope he has included WM6.5....

I certainly hope it will be soon. I've been running udk's rom for a while now and really love his style. Maybe the delay is the including of 6.5??

Just use The 3LIT3 II Suite w/Footprints, its much better than any ROM I have used before and is much faster then the previous udk ROMs.

which is a great working ROM. Now to make the hard decision if I should go for the R5...
