But I also noticed that you have Radio 1.10.25.25.
I have 1.09.25.14.

Is Radio 1.10.25.25 necessary to run this ROM or my version is also fine?

Hi,

1.10.25.25 is a much better radio to my opinion.
You can run the rom with 1.09.25.14 but I do not recommend.

Also radio 1.10.25.25 is included in L26_THDV5 so you need to downgrade the radio after flash if you like to use it.

Thx...I am new to HTC cooked ROMs but I am also working in SW development for 10 years now and own a Fujitsu Siemens N560 for quite a while now.I flashed that one many times by now.

In your original post you said that:

Yes you are right about USPL.

USPL causes a overflow (correct me if I'm wrong) and will make it possible to flash a customised rom.

After a reset the overflow will be gone and your original SPL will be still the same.

I have a question: how do you make VOIP work? In the Phone Settings, there is an Internet Tab, but in the Today Settings I can't activate the 'Internet Calling' item under Today screen (after disabling TF3D or alternatively using 2nd Today that I have not tested yet on the HD). As you indicate that you've used the Quartz drivers, is there some other programme or procedure to follow to get VOIP work?

Hi,

I only included the VOIP drivers from Quartz yes so it will give you the oppertunity to use VOIP.
Aldo the drivers are in I didn't include a config tool, maybe this is a good solution!

This rom version is very stable and much better then factory rom.

About backup; yes you need to backup all your files because a flash will destroy all your previous setup on device exept the storage card offcourse.

I don't think any Opera would support flash 100%.

So many Opera builds I've tried but there seem to be problems with every build.
So far I've only managed to make flash running in the 5202 build and 1957 build.
But they make the device freeze and it's not stable at all.

Please try IE6 with Desktop view because flash and Youtube work flawless in Internet Explorer.

Opera support I quit for a while because I'd like to concentrate on more language supported rom's in nearby future.

I've installed Duttys Opera 9.5 2808 Flash Support and it seems to work fine but the Setting menu font too small and even if Mobile View is unchecked, the most of web page start is in Mobile View mode.
Any chance to solve those two problems or to have your opera version?

You can easily flash with Vista. I have flashed my Diamond and my HD many times with Vista and have never had a problem.

Simply download the ROM, extract it and run the RUU. You'll find that drivers will load on your computer the first time you do this and if the RUU times out or gives an error whilst waiting for the drivers to load simply re-run the RUU with the phone in the bootloader (multi coloured screen) and the flash process will start

Just download and install a trial of Resco Explorer 2008. When you open this program, tap and hold on the storage card - you will see Format in the context menu.

Well, after a couple of days since I'm using this ROM I have to report something strange:
1. PIE & Opera and Flash Lite Player
When I open youtube.com with PIE it goes to error and a page pop up reporting flash corrupt file. Youtube website slow down and if I try to open a video, my display becomes messed up.
The same kind of problem with Opera. Youtube video are played not fluently
2. Battery
Strange behaviour of battery level. Before softresetting I had 72% of battery. After softresetting it want down to 48%. It also seems that battery performance is worst than other ROM. Could it be related to new RADIO included in this ROM? Consider that I keep my HD clean, without application running in background...

I also have to say that GPS performance are great. I got a GPS fix inside my home in 3 mins. Never happened before.

I have a battery drain problem as well..
Flashed v5 on Friday evening, now need to charge the phone every day :(
Before I was using v4 with exactly the same programs/config and it always lasted 2 days with no problem.

Before you ask - I did a hard reset after the flash, and did soft resets many times as well.

Battery drain. I also had a serious battery drain with v5, but I fixed my battery drain by:
In HD Tweak
Enable disconnect GPRS/EDGE/HDSPA After 1 minute.
Wifi standby mode: Disabled
Enable Power saving
In Advanced Config
Enable Power Management (SD etc.)

Also: disable Microsoft direct push and use Active Sync schedule insted (e.g. 5 min etc.).

When installed, I get an error synchronizing: Support Code 0x80004005.
As soon as I uninstall it, I can synchronize with Active Sync no problem.

But I truly would like my keyboard to be Scandinavian! ;-)

V6 is just a OS upgrade...

But before you setup V5.1.. go for V6... if you have V5.1 allready setting up stay on V5.1...

It seems to me that V5 to V5.1 is just a minor update. So I decided not to migrate. BUT V5 to V6 is major since it involved new OS. I am just not certain whether this upgrade really improves significantly i.e. stability, speed, power usage, radio etc. Knowing this would help to decide to update or not. Thanks.

I didn't include hotfixes as everything is working fine for me.
My advise is only to use a hotfix if you need any.

4 icons in a row you can revert back to 3 using HD Tweak. ;)

Everyone seems to ask this question a ton, so I thought I would clear this up (though probably no one will read it and everyone will still keep asking).

Some (at least for sure one) of the hotfixes was only applicable / needed on roms PRE 1.19xxxx...therefore it would be completely redundant to install them on such a rom as they are probably pre-cooked (not sure what terminology to use here lol) in the base-kit of sorts / a discreet oem package / the build of wince.

In the FRE version, ICR is not working,Rom seems a little bit slower than the wwe one. Back to the WWE + french EZ input at the moment and rom is fast and stable for the moment.

Great V6 GER ROM, congrats Leo. IE 6 did not work for me at first, could display only selected websites, and font size could not be changed. Used a reg setting to revert back to previous IE rendering. Now I wonder if I miss out on any new features IE 6 might have offered re rendering.
Problems could also have originated from Level 1 restoring with Sprite Backup, maybe it messed up IE. So if the new IE would offer any major new features, is there a IE 6 cab I could install to experience them (not the WM 6.1 IE of course).

In your next french ROM you may add the MUI file for the ICR translation : with the english ICR MUI file there is no way to get the menus to change the format or to delete the recorded files

Are you planning a "light" version of your rom, or is it possible to select which applications shopuld be installed or NOT installed during flashing?

Yes by default the keyboard only supports WWE in WWE rom. :D
If you install the language pack everything will work fine.

Battery performance is much better!

I don't force you to update but I'm improving the rom everyday.
This is a major release with complete new OS including new drivers and bugfixes from HTC self.

My opinion is that this new build is much better comparing to the 1.19.831 shipped rom I was using as source in V5.

If you're happy with what you have keep it. ;)

If your not satisfied anymore you can flash, meanwhile I fix the bugs haha...:D

Just to cast my vote, I say that you keep it up w/ wm 6.1...for a while. I would love to see you do some work on a 6.5 rom when its available for you, but I remember in some of the early 6.1 beta's text messaging didn't even work and a few different things, and I would therefore like (/need) to have something stable, really up-to-date and fresh to be able to rely on when I need to.

At least in my install of the GER V6 the Coloured Battery indicator made by FinixNOver always stays at 20%, even when the battery is full. After de-install of this plugin the standard indicator shows the correct battery level.

Yes, the error is for Exchange sync and not Hotmail/Gmail.

Happens at first sync after install and soft reset(or close Outlook/Active sync).

you have too many songs at once and the interface can't handle that many.
Try splitting them in playlists.
It will be fine.

Mate, state of the art as HTC says is bullshit marketing.
Touch HD is an amazing piece of HW but it needs quite some SW tuning and third party apps.
Leo is doing his best to cook roms that are way better than the original ones.
So keep visiting this thread regularly.
I am for example on his V6 using Winterface with skins a lot of third party SW and the device is now in a very good state.

that cab caused me no end of problems with activesync. I have hard reset three times. but we need t so phone actually rings! found a solution: install it, then uninstall it. seemed to fix things for me.

Great rom i just installed it everything is perfect the only thing i am having a problem with is the same as the other guys when you install the ringtonepack active sync gives a connection error problem so i uninstalled the cab and then the active sync started working and the ring tones are working as well so i guess the problem is fixed but the ring tone volume is not as loud as it used to be and yes i have all the volume set to maximum when i play the sample in the notification area its loud but when the phone rings its not that loud.

could someone take a look at this and see as to why the voulme would be low when the phone rings but loud otherwise

you have to use a german version of mui or translate it to german.
