I have tried all Opera builds but not one of them seems stable enough to support flash!

In V7 I've used latest Opera build 15316 as cab so I leave it up to you what you do with it.
One thing do, because of the latest Esmertec Jbed Opera is improved a lot!
Internet Explorer 6 is stable and support's flash, Youtube movies play excelent in it smooth and clear!

A tip to watch Youtube movies in IE !

In Internet Explorer menu go to 'Option's\Other' and set:
'Browse websites as: 'Desktop computer'

Internet Explorer (extracted from HTC Quartz) with flash support to watch Youtube movies or other moving content in your browser.

Latest Ezinput (exclusive made for this rom) tweaked to the bone and multi language support coded by my good friend DubinBJK (Still more languages will follow!) Language cabs you can find in post #2 of this thread, download and copy to your storage card and run from there. After installation softreset. The choosen language will set itself default in your softkeyboard!

Touchreponse v.3.0 made by Snailslug, when you press the screen you will feel a short vibration.
Facebook upload fix by Duttythroy and Monx to upload your pics during New Years evening to your Facebook account and show your friends what you are doing.
HD Tweak by Montecristofoffon to tweak your HD the way you like it.
Schap’s excellent apps, Advanced Config v.3.3, Advanced Taskmanager v.0.7 beta.
SD Tune UP made by Tnyynt to watch smoother movies stored on your Storage card.
SdAutorun made by Slueth255, autoinstall’s your favorit apllication’s after each romflash stored on storage card by by reading a config.txt file customized by you!
Latest VOIP client (taken from HTC Quartz) to make voip calls (voice over IP)
WVGA Calculator skin Diamond style made by Panosha, just beautifull!
Coloured Battery indicator measures in percentage made by FinixNOver.
Hide sim contact’s made by Luigi.ing
Curtain’s down mod by NisseDILLIGAF, it removes the curtain’s in Manilla today.
Tweaks for stability speed to run this rom as it should be (to many to mention all) made by me.

Fixed a issue with LockStreamDRM which caused the DownloadAgent.exe not functioning.

After many test I came to the conclusion that not one Opera build is stable enough to use flash.
I have used the latest Opera in V5 and it's uninstallable so it's up to you what you do with it.

A warning before you flash this rom!

You must flash HardSPL first to be able to flash this rom!

An alternative is USPL, it doesn't change your original SPL!

Tips about flashing the rom:


Best is to have your device fully charged
Switch off your device by holding the Power button untill a menu popsup.
Go to bootloader by holding Volume down + Power button at the same time.
Connect your device to your PC
Start BlackStoneCustomRUU.exe and follow the onscreen instruction's.

An alternative is to flash your device from storage card:


Rename RUU_Signed.nbh to BLACIMG.NBH and copy it to your Storage card
Follow the above steps to go in bootloader
A messages will popup, push power button to start flashing or Volume down to cancel
After it's done a new message popsup, softreset your device.

Aldo I have tested this rom many time's and it's currently running on my device I don't take any responsability incase something goes wrong with your device!

Love your work, Laurentius. Have used your ROMs many times. I'm curious about the 8mb pagepool. Do you think it might be the optimal size? I'm currently playing around with my own ROM, and have set my pagepool at 16mb. Seems to be quite responsive, but if it's excessive, I should change it. In Canada, I'm on Rogers, which supports Caller Name Display. It will show who is calling, even if they are not in your contacts list. I've replaced the rilphone.dll from the Rogers Diamond ROM and it is working, which is why I'm trying to cook my own ROM, but I'm having trouble with my packages, they seem to install, but I don't have any shortcuts in my Program directory. Do I need to do anything special when I create a package from a cab?? Thanks for any help I can get. :D

Hi Laurentius, and thank you for this new ROM.

It is very fast and pretty. My only problem is that it didn't install all the cabs I have in my storage card, with a Sdconfig.txt in it. In other Roms, they are installed without problems... Am I doing somthing wrong?

Solution:

Browse with Total Commander into the Windows\Startmenu\Programs\Multimedia\ and copy JBed shortcut (hold the stylus on it for popup menu).
Go 2 steps back with Total Commander Windows\Startmenu\Multimedia\ and paste the shortcut there.

After that you can remove the empty Multimedia folder under 'Windows\Startmenu\Programs\

What do you mean? I don't see any difference in this ROM in this regard. I'm able to adjust brightness without problem. Just uncheck the auto adjust backlight in the Backlight tab of the power setting first.

I just installed this rom. it seems to be stable. but i still have battery drain problem. :( i even turned off all program, no anything running, wifi off, HSDPA disabled, bluetooth off. battery level icon showed 100% down to 98% after few clicks on screen.

when i used official rom, battery can keep a whole night without dropping.

i took out the battery and put back in. now battery level is not dropping at this moment, still testing.

This is just normal behaviour.
It sounds weird but the same problem exist on my girlfriends Rapheal too.
You play with the rom and the first percentages go realy fast but overall drainage is ok.
I played with the rom the last few days and battery drainage seems stable to me.
You can easely use the phone 2 days without charging.

Most of the things you mention are hidden and for example Facebook upload you can find in the menu of HTCAlbum.

Backup software exist like SPB Backup and Sprite backup but I never used because I flash every day.
I don't think they work because they make a clone of your System (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Aldo I'm not having battery drainage at all I can give you one possibility to try.

Start\Settings\System\'Touchresponse Settings' and disable Touchresponse.

Please report back if it's working for you.

Hello now I don't think so... but not 100 % sure..

What I use to restore with Sprite backup is the option Level 1

As per the help of the soft:

Use this option to perform restore operations between the same device with differents ROM revision...

This is no bug at all, default WWE shipped rom only support 5 world languages.
Please read the first page of this thread because all is explained there.

Portuguese language you can find on page 1 post #2, instruction's included as well.

Yeap as u suggest. change the IE to desktop mode. i'm connecting via WiFi though. As for opera i launch from the globe in internet tab.

How soon is v4 coming? probably i'll wait and go to v4 straight :D

Great ROM! Flash is still a little bit choppy but as we can see in your screenshots this will improve greatly in the next release.

To all people who are in doubt of flashing a ROM, you can always skip a release. These releases are very fast so skipping one is always an option.

I don't use a whole lot of extra apps so flashing is very fast for me. :)

Today morning both of them are off. This is not a panic. The battery life were about six hours. Of course I swithed off "wifi permanent connection" before in HD tweak. WTH does eat the battery?

Its Flash lite, you require the new Flash Player, one has been announced for winmo but is still not available. Sites like thedailyshow.com will still not play with this version.

Edit: forgot to mention Skyfire should play those sites easily but no wvga support.

My mistake for that point that I swithed off "permanent wifi coonection".
I forgot confirm "ok" in Hd tweak when I toggled that. And the wi-fi was constant on. Now after fully battery charged I'm testing. I hope will be ok.

With a true pagepool I mean I hexedited the .nbf and modified the pagepool in rom, rather then using the pagepool patcher in kitchen.

When will you release V4? and whether it will include new Radio? (i don't know whether it can be included :confused: )

If i need to install new radio with your V3 ROM, i just need to extract the new radio and backstone customRUU.exe to same folder and start flashing? or i can only flash the new radio? (i did read all Wiki and threads, still confused.... :rolleyes:)

I don´t know what happened, but when I went to sleep, the battery was about 60 percent and when I wake up, the phone was off and the battery totally empty. This has happened to me for the 1st time...the only thing I did unusual - I changed to vibrate only profile.

I'm wondering whether it makes sense to include both Opera and IE in the same ROM: doesn't this waste valuable internal memory?
Since Opera seems more mature I'd probably like to remove IE: any suggestion how this could be possible? Or eventually is it possible -- without too much additional effort -- for you to publish the ROM in 2 versions (Opera/IE) so people could select their preferred browser?
Based on your testing how would you compare Opera vs IE on the Touch HD?

Been using all your roms, and tried a lot others, but love yours the best.
Currently using V3 with new radio 1.10, and all seems fine.

Battery wise, it seems like there's a nuclear power plant inside, i use it a lot, and the battery hardly changes, so it is really amazing in that respect as well:)

I tried making an SDConfig.txt file in the root directory of the storage card, on all versions v1-v3, and nothing ever happens, it is being ignored.
Did anyone actually use it and got it to work, if yes please give some tips or pointers to what I may be missing here .

On another note, I saw you answer regarding true page pool, but still wondering, what was the original page pool from HTC? Why not use a larger PP, since we have a lot of free unusable RAM?
Did anyone conduct some tests to how a larger/smaller PP influence the performance of the device?

The problem is you propably had the wi-fi on.
By default in this rom the wi-fi connection is in permanently use mode.
It mean the wi-fi is still running while you go to sleep ;) in standby mode.
You can switch off this option and everything will be ok. I did it and it works!

yea. i noticed wifi makes the battery go down the road at amazing speed. i just tried to put it in standby with wifi off, battery still at 100% after full charge from 11pm to now, time is 11 am.

i have not tested other rom. when i used stock rom, battery did not go down that fast with wifi on. but i did not measure it. i measured this one closely.

SDConfig is still not working in V3 but will be fixed 100% in V4.

The pagepool is default 6mb, I'm testing various pagepool but 8mb seems to perform the best for me.

Thanks very much for all these hardwork. I am a beginer in using customised ROM to equip my HD.

The system run very smoothly. But I could not watch video in youtube or NBA as you guys mentioned. I did not use 3G or H connection to go to web. Most of the time I just use ActiveSync to go to internet. When I used ActiveSync to go to internet, all work fine ( I could browse webs, downloading weather data) except I could not watch the video. The video screens just keep in dark or just showing "video is loading" without any things happen. I wonder if it is a problem of ActiveSync. I never use 3G or H network to browse websites as it is very expensive in my living place .

Anyway, I really love you rom and my HD as well :)

Can you install the latter .cab over the older GM app (even if it is included in your ROM, or does the ROM you make kind of have those programs installed in the device in RAM [if you know what I mean; is a ROM with included apps all in ROM or do the apps get installed into RAM as part of the flashing process])?

Hi, I am new here and I notice a lot of speculation about battery behavior on certain roms.

Could someone maybe script a programm that can be run overnight that will perform battery intensive tasks like running programs and switching wifi and bluetooth on and off for a fixed period of time.

This than can be a benchmark to compare.

Just a thought.

As I am Norwegian, I tried to change the language of the T9 input to Norwegian. This left me unable to write letters at all. Only the symbols and numbers worked. The device vibrate when I press letters in any of the keyboards, but I get no output.

I then reverted the setting to English, but still I cannot write anything using any of the keyboards?

I don't know if this is possible to reproduce, but it left me reverting to original Norwegian ROM.

Try Internet Explorer for the time being. (In IE6 choose Menu\Tools\options\other and set 'Browse websites as Desktop computer').
Also you could try to make the cache bigger in Opera options.

It's still a bit slugish performance, have some patient's please version 4 of my rom will solve a lot.

Language packs are on page 1 post #2 of this thread, as you can see there Norwegian language is not supported yet.
Default WWE rom doesn't do this as well.

Yeah I'm testing and modifying it plus added wvga skin, one problem I didn't solve yet, it doesn't seem to like or support screenrotation.
Maybe I can use from another cab to make it rotate, we will see...

installing the cab was pretty much straight forward besides from a permissions problem which i could resolve by killing the opera process that was running somehow in background.

only replacing both files as you mentioned seemes not to be possible for this version. use the cab.

An alternative is to flash your device from storage card:

* Rename RUU_Signed.nbh to BLACIMG.NBH and copy it to your Storage card
* Follow the above steps to go in bootloader
* A messages will popup, push power button to start flashing or Volume down to cancel
* After it's done a new message popsup, softreset your device.

this method, i always fail

why would that be doing it? if you're not running the file why will it drain it? i think i have some m4a files on my sd card. the battery is also running waaaaaay too fast. Drained by 9pm today :(

Language packs are on page 1 post #2 of this thread, as you can see there Norwegian language is not supported yet.
Default WWE rom doesn't do this as well.
It's working with Duttys WWE ROM. I'm just running this cab, then it works perfectly: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402121

Could you please check out if you are able to fix this till V4? I prefer your ROM, but I'm "stuck" with Duttys until the Norwegian T9 cab works on your.

Please, are you able to just check quickly if the bug I mentioned a few posts above is easy to fix before you release V4? The cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402121) I mentioned works with Duttys v 1.5, but I really liked your ROM better, and would like to try out the new radio as well. Like fjevel described, on your ROM, the cab installs, and I get the option to choose other input languages. But there is no response when pressing the keys, other than the vibration/haptic feedback. I hope you are able to look into it (a fix will guarantee you a donation from me :P).

why would that be doing it? if you're not running the file why will it drain it? i think i have some m4a files on my sd card. the battery is also running waaaaaay too fast. Drained by 9pm today :(

Also, I've noticed that if you install another keyboard (e.g. touchpal), after reset it sets the keyboard to whatever is default


well, i'm not sure about that, but after i have remove my m4a file,
i have no longer fast running battery out problem, programmes freezing or SD undetected by the HD..

I suppose, even if you don't run it by yourself, the "mp3 player" of the touch flo 3D will check and update its music library..:rolleyes:

I have try other roms, it's the same probleme..

edit: maybe the problem goes with my mp4 file itself.. maybe.. but i don't think so

actually, i only use mp3 , i just convert my m4a to mp3.. ^^

Your welcome, nothing to worry about.

Internet is asking a lot of the processor, that's why your device is getting warmer and sometimes it feels hot.
I was worried about it as well before but my previous devices all still live so.... :D
