Hi Guys
I found that making one is easier. Just take your headset, open the mic housing with a knife, remove the headphones and solder a 3.5 jackplug in. In the pics here I used a Touch Dual headset...It has a volume control.

Hi Driskol
This one you are looking at will not work. There are of these adaptors availible for the HTC, But the one in the link you sent has a mini usb plug and not the HTC type...However that is exactly the ones I use to convert the standard headsets.
The standard MiniUSB has all its conections on the wide side of the connector, where the HTC connector has all the audio connections on the narrow side. see pic

he he..I´m very familiar with this procedure since I used Motorola phones for years:D It was the best way how to make own adapter ´cause I tried 4 stock motorola adapters and no of them worked properly so I did it my way:D
btw: mini usb from motorola doesn´t work on HTC for audio - it works only for data connection;)

Hello Mir Abbas
You are right, it is quicker, but the reason I use the origenal headset and put the 3.5 jack plug on it is because you still have access to the microphone. This means you can use it as a normal headset.

hi!
I got this Skullcandy sound kit to my Helmet and it got all of the equipment i need except the right connector. It has mic, volume control and answer button.
Anyone know an adapter och something like it so i can plug it in to my Touch diamond?
The kit is a 3,5 and a 2,5 Y-split (i think its a 2,5). so the question is how do i get my 2,5 mm connector thats act's like the phone transfer cable so it detects the mic and answer button :P

I got this one from eBay (bought two), but there is one problem:
If you try to charge from the power adaptor while listening to headphones, it will sometimes randomly bring up Voice Speed Dialer or dial the last number in your Call History (!). However, if you charge from the USB port of your PC instead, it does not do that.
One day I had left my Diamond by itself while I had the headphones and power plugged in, and I noticed it had dialed (and hung up) on a single person about 19 or 20 times in a span of 30 minutes! Even worse is the fact that I don't know whose number it was, because it was an unknown caller who had called me, and it happened to be the last number in my Call History. ha ha

I also use 1 like this & I've found it's built well & does the job all for a cheap price of £3.00 inc p&p off of ebay  recommended !
I did try the other cheap 1's off ebay with the wire & believe me when I say they are really really rubbish, 1st few uses you think yeah their fine, but after a few times of pushing on & pulling off = they end up falling to bits on you. The build quality is really really bad, so they might be cheap those 1's with the 3.5 convert lead, but their total CRAP  !!!

Hi
I get the same problem as well. Infact mine carried on randomly ringing people even when it was no longer connected. A soft reset sorted it. Needless to say i do not use it anymore.

I just got the OEM HTC adapter on the first page, and it is fantastic. Has a port for everything (power, 3.5, 2.5, USB) and works like a charm. I actually got it for $20 at the Telephone Booth. The nice thing about it is that it's built really well and not flimsy at all. Matches the build of the Diamond, and came with a 1 year warranty from an actual store that I can go into and yell at a human who can't put me on an ignore list if I need to replace it.

how's the audio quality with these adapters on the diamond?
I plugged my htc hermes headset into a diamond once and found the sound quality the same, as in not so good...the touch HD quality was a lot better :/

Hi there vrolok71, do you have the product codes or any more details for the adaptors you've pictured as I can't find them anywhere. I bought one similar to the more rounded one you've shown, made by HTC, but it doesn't work with the Diamond.
Many thanks.

Thanks for this picture. I ordered a "mini usb" wired headset and found it didn't work with my Touch Diamond for exactly this reason.
I ordered the dodgy 3 in 1 adaptor suggested by vrolok71 from ebay which should solve it. I hope it doesn't randomly call and hangup on people like dsixda's did... although some of the people I know probably deserve that sort of treatment. haha!

Does any of these adaptors have the inbuilt aerial, as I would quite like to listen to the FM radio in my MDA Compact IV (HTC Diamond) with my own headphones.
In the meantime I will try and modify the existing phone's headphones to replace the earphones with a 3.5mm socket.
UPDATE:
I just received This (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200316919489) and it works fine. And at under 4 GBP (including deliver within UK) it was worth a try out.
Initially the plastic contacts holder inside the mini-USB slipped back and thus I could get the headphones to work but not the radio. After a couple of plugging in and outs, I was not even getting the headphones to work. The problem was solved as two flaps in the steel casing of the mini-USB had not been put down.

Same with me, i got exactly the same Splitter (see attached thumbnail picture) and exactly the same problem:
when the splitter is connected to USB power, my Diamond starts to redial the last number
- 23 times at the last occasion, while i was using my Diamond for navigation! - and hangs up after the call has been received.
very annoying, i have no idea why, probably some voltage problem, as the call-receive/end button on the HTC haedphones short circuits the headphone cables if i recall correctly.
So i cannot recommend this product. Problem is, that i need:
mini usb power input (goes to the 12V cigarette adapter on my motorbike)
mini usb power output (where you connect your pda)
mini usb headphone jack (audio output/mic input)
3,5mm stereo audio output (goes to the amplified speaker on my motorbike)
, so the only other product i can find at the moment is the original HTC audio splitter, so i will probably stick to that one. Any other recommendations or remedy ideas anyone?

I use the YC-A300 adaptor (from HTC, first post).
But I'm not satisfied with it. While using it for iGO using a TMC antenna and charging from cigarette lighter, my Diamond shows the sign for charging. But after 2 hours of use its very hot and not charged. So the Diamond quits working and I lost all data....
Anyone with the same experience or maybe with a solution?
