HI!
Does anybody know about a Guitar Tuner software (a real tuner, not just playing the notes) working properly on Artemis? I tried a few on my device (actually an SPV650) and none seems to work. The note is never recognized. Thanks

I use Frequency Tuner:

You have the option of guitar or piano view and has more options than every other tuner out there.

I've tried frequency tuner on a couple of machines, now. can't get it to tune at all. it just jumps all over the place... even in a silent room. tried playing with all th settings but just can't get it to recognise the correct notes. have given up now.

is it just me?

I use it on EVERYthing I have.

Maybe you need to adjust the "trigger" at the bottom of the screen?

I'm currently running it on my Wizard, Kaiser, and Touch Pro. I use it a lot actually...

After some testing (I originally started this thread) I managed to have decent results on my Artemis using both "4Pockets Guitar Tuner" and "enable Tuner". Both are shareware. In my opinion, both have the same problems:

- Practically no way to tune the low E string.
- No way to use "automatic detection" of the played string. The measured frequency is really not stable so the Tuner almost never makes the right guess. Yet, in manual mode is usable.
- The measured frequency flips up and down a lot, but after a while you get used to it and you manage to use it.
-No way to use it in a noisy place.

I still cannot say if it works better with or without the AGC microphone enabled or not. Depending on that you might want to adjust the distance between the phone and the guitar.

After some testing I took my old tuner and tried... the process it's just so much easier and quick that I really cannot say I don't need it anymore. Yet, if I don't have it with me I can do something with the Artemis.

The following also look quite good, although I have not tried them:

Auto Tuner:

PhonTuner:

Hope this helps.

Is the one I was talking about. It's ok. There are a few version around, all are quite the same.

On my HTC touch HD, the free frequency tuner works really good!

It takes about 5 seconds to get a frequency and tone, but that is very all right for tuning instruments.

I am happy with it, thanks xda!
