Email will EITHER go thru WIFI or MEDIANET But Not Both ... Ideas?

I recently reflashed my ROM and have not quite gotten all my settings right. My Tilt USED to check email thru Wifi if it was on, and if it wasn't on, it would go out to Medianet.

Now, if I set the email account to Medianet, it will go to Medianet regardless of whether there is Wifi. If I set the email account to "the internet" then it will connect if there is Wifi, and if there is no Wifi, it will IMMEDIATELY (without even trying anything) tell me that it "cannot connect with the current connection settings".

Any idea what setting I need to fix so that the phone will do what it used to ... to go thru wifi if available, and then medianet if not?
