Hi all,
this is my V-7, as I've said in one post, I've read some comments in this thread and I've seen that some people still prefer a rom with the old Manila due to the better stability, speed and ram management respect the new roms with the new Manila. So,
I've decided to update this rom version too.
The rom is like V-6 but with some fixes and improvements.
First thing, I've reverted to 15086 build for Opera, stable and fast, like we have seen on V-5. I've leaved the new keyboard
and calculator from Rhodium and added some new feature that could be really usefull. In this case I've decided to include the new menu enhancement and the new commManager with all its extensions from Rhodium.
I've updated Mp3Trimmer too.
That's all, I hope you'll appreciate this, I think this should be a rom to have. For sure many of you want to try new roms with
new stuff, this is obvious, but this rom will be a good one to turn back becouse I think it's full working.

To turn back on the original theme from V-1 or V-3, use the attached Manila-Standard_Theme.zip, extract the files, copy these to the device, disable TF3D from Settings>Today>Items, and copy these files into Windows folder using Total Commander. Then you can restart TF3D.

Just one question: why the GPSPollInterval change? I am afraid that Navigon will not work, and i am quite skeptic you see an improvement....do you?

In my ROM i had to put it to 3000 ms to have Navigon working without mortscript scripts...maybe i am wrong, since i didn't try to change to smaller delays...

I've HD from few days, I've tried only TOMTOM7 and it seems to work good in this way and many people have changed PollInterval(I've read from many italian forums), and they say to see the difference. I've never used navigon. In the next days I'll try IGO8, that seems to have the best graphics, I'll let you know.

I'm really happy to post my first rom for an HTC device here on xda.:D I've some experience on rom cooking becouse I've cooked many roms for Toshiba G900. Now, that I've my HD from few days, I've tried to cook for this device. Then I'll be happy if you will want to try my rom and report results here, so that to be able to improve my job.


This rom is based on WWE 1.19.831.0 shipped rom, with some changes and many tweaks.

If you try shipped roms and some cooked too, you will see active sync always running. This is a little bug of these new builds then I've changed some modules related on A.S. and this problem is solved.:)

Agreed: It has been present in all cooked ROM's I've tried too. Very annoying and and I'd rather have the resources for applications/modules I want running. ;)

What is Dynamic PagePool?

In simple words, PagePool is a part of the ram used when you open apps...
In the shipped rom the pagepool is setted to 6 Mb, then you have this limit(6 Mb). We can change pagepool as we like, to 8,12,16... Dynamic pagepool is a little different, this mean that pagepool is setted to "0". In this way the system doesn't have any limit. The result is a more snappy rom and, contrarily of that that is said, (in my opinion), it's more stable. I've done a lot of tests on pagepool on my Toshiba G900, and with dinamic pagepool the device never crashed, even opening all the apps I had on the device, resulting smooth and fluid in this extreme situations too.

flashed it some hours ago and i am impressed from the performance. i do not really like the middle flash background but the position from the bars under it (sorry for my bad bad english)

It seems that there are no bugs and works good with the d3d ati drivers (diamond)

Even i really like this launcher / task manager tool (good idea)

the dynamic page pool seems to be really the best choice (i played around with your rom some hours and compared it to some other roms here in this board).

ok, its english and i am german but i do not care about ;)

even in my mind there is still more to get out from this phone. we will see. looking forward.. and a really big thank you for this version!

no problem.. i am following several threads in this board.. hourly ;) and there is the information missing that the new radio is included (if i remember right), so i had a look some hours ago after flashing the rom for myself.

i am really happy with that rom because all the bugs i knew (from some other or win mobile) are gone. i like the task manager tool a lot, but had to play with it to really know, what it is.. ;)

its a good rock solid and fast rom, working with d3d drivers and after setting glyph cache a little bit higher.

for me as a german the only pitty is that there is no german version ;)

but i do not care and i hope win mobile 6.5 coming in februar will put the device into a next level somehow - and that HTC does not forget about releasing updates to touchflow and so on.. but thats all offtopic, sorry.

Just installed..

same as VizagDude... not fan of Voice dialer

otherwise it's incredible the speed of the ROM.... for exemple to go to windows folder is soo fast..

Also I like a lot your rotation tools... great !!!!!

Some little staffs are missing perhpas for the V2, the skin for the calc... the battery meter in %...

Something strange I was able to restore my personal data from Sprite backup... no way.. don't what's happend...

I tested also Core player 1.30 and works perfect but Tcpmp lag a lot as per me... could be remove in next version...

Otherwise for GPS tools, I installed Navigon 7 and start it without prob... didn't test the gps for the moment...
Also TOMTOM, IGO8 and Garmin XT...

I will test them on the road tomorrow and give feedback...

In resume except I lost all my personal data I like a lot your ROM... continue like that

Voice speed dial was changed by HTC in the new 1.19 rom with voice commander, then I've not deleted it. But in the next version I can add it.
For sprite backup, I've never used it, I use Pimbackup. And I know that sprite backup gives some problems on many roms and devices, then I suggest to use Pimbackup.

Davide another observation. MSVC will not work if installed over Voice Commander..Perhaps you can give people the choice by providing a cab for voice command / voice speed dial.

I feel Microsoft VC is superior...Personally i can not have a rom without it..

As promised I did some test with the GPS soft :

TOMTOM 7 : unfortunately no increase from other ROM even the modification of the parameter to refresh from 1 to 0.5.... personaly I have a lag of 1 or 2 second to refresh the current position and after on some crossroad often you allready after it...

GARMIN XT : same

IGO8 : works without problems ... sometime a bit in advance.... but it's better that in delay... ;)

NAVIGON 7 : no problem to run it in "Portait" mode.. don't need motorscripts. and it's the one who is better after my test.. specialy in town...

I had a lot of hopes about the parameter change about GPS but unfortunatly there is no impact on the soft ( of course always as per my feeling)

I heard about a new gps soft who is called zorrogps who support officialy the HD.. if my time permiting I will test it also and give you feedback...

Anyway otherwise your ROM is fantastic... running whitout problem.. still don't know why I'm not able to restore with Sprite backup.... This morning I test another ROM and I was able to restore without problem...

Norton Anti Virus has detect Trojan Horse in the main and Rapidshare link ..... Please check and be aware

CustomRUU.exe is infected . ( Norton 2009 doesn't allow to extract this file )

anyway, I've builded many roms for Toshiba G900, infact I wrote that this is my first rom for an HTC device:p
And the V-2 seems to promise a good improvement in performance:D due to the new build. And I've added MSVC for its fans;), IE6 with flash support...

A quick request for V2 release...

I use custom icons for the top bar.. and when I have more than 2 notifications, the icons move to the left to accommodate the new notifications (for eg: Voice Mail, SMS, etc.) When this happens, due to your theme (the horizontal multi color laser), I belive its cutting the screen into half and the notificaton icons are hidden under this line and appear half.

Please fix this.

This (V1) is the best ROM I have found for speed and stability. I run Kinoma Play (playing audible books) and Copilot navigation in the car, with emails checked every 5 minutes, pRSS running every hour and stock and weather programs updating every 15 minutes. I've tried the stock ROM 1.14 and most of the others in this forum over the past week. My measure is lack of interference on audio (ranging from several seconds pause while the phone does something else on the stock ROM to judders and clicks) and speed of response when switching between applications.

Panosha's V1.1 Lite was the next best for me (but album is broken).

But Davideuck's is easily the best for me under these circumstances, YMMV.

My suggestions for the next version (or two) are: include MS Voice Command, drop total commander and include file explorer extensions, allow htc album to play videos (it can't see them on my installation at any rate), lose touch response (uses too much battery and rapidly becomes irritating in my view), add autodetect wifi (with the other ROMS I just switch wifi on and it finds the network and asks for password, with this one I have to manually detect and configure the network), add AEButtons.

TCPMP is set to use direct draw whereas GDI seems to work much better. Not sure if other video options are optimised or not.

Also you need to set TCPMP as an exception in Flip in order to get full screen playback.

ActiveSync stays running once started by a PC connection. I have tried creating a dummy server and setting schedule to manual but that doesn't help. If I close it manually then it does stay closed.

TCPMP is setted to use Raw FrameBuffer and this setting is better than GDI on HD. Infact I've done a benchmark with a high quality video and using Raw FrameBuffer I've 62% of speed, with GDI 57%.
Active Sync stay on after a PC connection in all the PDA, this is normal, but I'll try Active Sync killer that should solve this.

Great news for anyone with a Touch HD on Rogers or Fido in Canada...Davideuck_V-2 ROM has certs disabled and I was able to simply overwrite the rilphone.dll with the one from this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347882&page=29 and I now have 'Caller Name Display' on a great custom ROM. If it didn't work, he was going to cook it in for me. Thanks again to Davideuck. :D

Very good ROM! only bug so far is that the calculator would not launch because it cannot launch the spb .gif image. i will instal another, so not a big issue.

v2 really runs great and with the signed htccapi and ati diamond driver.. perfect. maybe you can cook it into the v3 version which should give the ROM a little bit more performance (and stability)? that does not mean the ROM is slow -> it is a really fast rom, even without the ati diamond driver.

no problem, xip have to be patched to really change the pagepool. You can do it using the new Ervius tool Xipporterex revision 35. You can do it on xip or payload file. But if you want to change PagePool in my rom(that is just patched), you can simply use pagepool changer. I think you can find this tools in a simple way using search button;)

Many thanks for V2. Points as they arise during testing/use:

Auto Connection settings - in UK you need to select Fresh Mobile to get T-Mobile, T-Mobile gets you TalkTalk. Probably others are also mixed up. V1 (and some other ROMS) did the same. Not a problem once you realise.

Horizontal slider for setting WiFi performance/power doesn't display properly. V1 the same.

AEbuttons sometimes stops working and needs soft reset. Not sure if this is ROM related but it didn’t happen with v1.

As with V1 this is a very fast and stable ROM. Every other ROM has problems with RSS Hub which seems to be very resource intensive, freezing and sticking. Not with yours! Even with several other programs running it is smooth. I have always avoided RSS Hub and used pRSS instead for this reason - you may want to consider swapping for the next build?

Just out of interest I disable scroll bars in registry and use volume up/down with AEbuttons to maximise screen. Also set text to smaller.

TCPMP working well for me on 3gp not on wmv, but wmp is fine for wmv.

no 3D drivers in these roms, they makes rom instable, expecially Opera and IE6, I'll try with next builds but I'll put in only if stability will be ok.
For the free ram, in theory with my roms you have less free ram due to the dynamic pagepool, but as I've wrote here, this is normal and with these settings in my opinion the rom is much fast and stable.

You have to disable TF3D from today items and use Total Commander to copy the files into windows folder. After you can activate TF3D again. That's all.

Just downloaded and installed, so far so good very snappy and responsive. Sprite backup v 6.5.4 worked for me on a restore. Although I'm doing a hard reset as something isn't playing nicely with the rom. Will update if I find out what it is. Good work :thumb:

Yes I know. I thought I had but maybe forgot in the excitement.

Using in car today. Kinoma Play working well but when I tried using HTC audio player it only plays a few seconds of a track then stops. if i press play again it plays the first few seconds again and stops. Is this something I've done or a bug?

I was using 1.14.401.3 (22273) WWE. I tried different settings, within suggestion options, and nothing changed, but truly said, I can live with it ;), and i got slowly used to pressing backspace everytime I want suggestions in SMS To: field :)

Yes, the problem is Flip-it, it will be disabled for YouTube.exe in V-3, and of course, for now, you can add it manually to the list of exception on flip-it.;)

For me battery life is good, using touch response too. If you want, try to disable touch response and see if in your opinion it give benefits. And of course let me know, I really appreciate your feedback and I think this is the right way to improve this work;)

Perhaps you're right! ;) I'll try to disable touch response for a day (that's a shame, because it really does its work).
Wktask is great. Another tip is Quickmenu. A fancy and handy start menu!

I only have some questions: Can I remove WkTask? How? I really LOVE this app and I used it all along with the other ROMs, the thing is I tried now WisBar and I like it a lot, too. I'd like to test WisBar for two weeks or so and then decide, but first I need to get rid of WkTask, cause its interfering.. I cand exit it manuallay, but I want completely to deinstall it, cause it is in Autostart and so on.. So, could you please tell me how? And now second question, hm, I don't know who I should ask for.. I had in Duttys ROM one great thing (I know this is silly...:s): The "ring"-tone for text messages, it was: "Excuse me boss, you have a new text message" in a reeeealy cool voice, comletely understandable and reeeeeeealy great... Hm, this is of course not a must have, but I loved this as I get quite a lot of text messages.... Do you know where I can get this or could you get it? Should I ask Duttythroy for it??..... This would be really amazing;)

For WkTask, you can't uninstall completely BUT you can exit manually and go into windows\startup folder and delete WkTask link there, in this way it will not start after a soft reset.
For that SMS sound, I'll see if I can find it and include in V-3:)

Of course, Flip-it is an app like gyrator but in my opinion it consumes few ram and it's a little simple to use. To exclude an app you have to add the .exe file of the app to the list of the exceptions. Then you don't need gyrator anymore.

For that notification, can you take a look here?:

Weather is automatically downloaded every 4 hours
Internet is done over 3G

would it be good, to have the ati drivers cooked in or do you think the user should decide if or if not to install the signed ati dll ?

i am using your v2 with the signed ati driver and its really working good. The only thing i am installing after flashing is apptodate and a screenshot tool, because i really do not as much as you all do with your mobile phones ;)

so i would be happy if the ati drivers could be cooked in by you but i would not mind it, if not :)

I have not added 3d drivers becouse they give some issues with Opera. Not always but sometimes the device freeze when closing Opera. I had no freeze for 2 days with this build I'm using but after this, I had freeze again. Then I prefer to give a stable rom. Anyway, anyone can install 3d drivers after flashing and report here feedback.
I hope we will have a good build of Opera not freezing with 3d drivers, in that case I'll add immediately drivers.

you do not have to say thank you for using your rom, we have all to say thank you and i agree to you decision (i know this opera / ati driver bug.. sometimes it happens, sometimes not.. strange).

I really hope, there will be a really good and stable graphic driver for blackstone, because there is sure a little bit more to get out than it is at the moment.. and i am looking forward to the new htc devices without qualcom chips.. and maybe with nvidia´s one.. :)

No radio into this rom.
I think anyone can flash the preferred radio separately. It's a very simple operation that takes only few minutes and hard reset isn't required.

21014 isn't an official build, I've found it on Diamond rom section, it was a Hermes SYS and XIP. I've ported to HD and, as I've wrote, for me it seems the best build until now. I've tried many builds, including new official 20769, 21009...
21014 is the faster and stable build for me.

Some tweaks are already in rom and as I've wrote on one of my posts here, HDTweak is in rom for personal user customization. Anyway, for Opera, take in mind that this is a tweaked build from NFSFAN and I've gained the cache size too.:)

Seems very good so far.

However all the custom ROMs ive used have had issues with HSDPA connections on Vodafone UK. I can connect once, but after that i have to turn off data and turn it back on again to get it to work. Even that doesnt always work. Its not a network isue since the SIM works fine in other devices.

So far ive not had the issue with this ROM, buts its to early to call it. It may be related to the 1.10.25.25 radio.

I just downloaded from this link and when I unzipped the file my Norton Internet Security said that it had found a Trojan Horse virus in it. I don't often get a false positive with that software, so I just thought that it was right to pass on the warning. The file was cleaned.

Now about the ROM ... WOW! Snappy and working great. I haven't had a chance to test all apps yet, but so far it is primo.

Edit: I did find that after a soft reset and my first sync with my laptop, WkTask started asking for the skin file omake.png. It was looking in My Documents/WkTask skins/, but my HD didn't have that subdirectory. I searched with resco and found the file in /windows. I made the directory in My Documents and copied over the file. It seems to work ok now and I see that the red X icon is on the top bar.

despite the fact our ROMS are competing head to head on the ROM poll, i was trying all the roms around for comparisons and inspiration , including Laurentius, Panosha and Dutty's (in addition to mine...:rolleyes:) but yours merits a special acknowledgement.

I have to admit that your ROM looks to me the fastest among all, it is indeed very fast and responsive to the use. in terms of underlying layer, e.g. the part that cannot be easily changed from a "normal user", you simply did a great job. Onore delle armi! :)


Some constructive comments and suggestions: I don't love you choice of taskmanager and graphics, but this is subjective, and is promptly overwritten by few cabs as i did. Try out the wifi tweak which is running around in the forum, since it is indeed working very well and easy to add in your base ROM. Is your ROM UC compliant? if not, just let me know and i can PM you a ready to use package including mortscript. In addition, i would personally build in nitrogen (with the WVGA skin that just came out, i have a ready to use cab also for this) since it is audibly better than the other plaers, at least to my westone3 :p, and I would add keepass, but this is my personal bias.

Again it is easy to make "suggestions" since, as base OS, i have to admit I wouldn't be able to make it better and you deserve my own "best of the month" ROM award!

So, my compliments - i will not donate simply because I will go back to the competition, as soon as i have a bit more time :cool:!

Simply it isn't setted as default. For example, I don't use MSVC and other users too. Then who want to use MSVC have to enable it and set the button as they want. A good idea could be to provide a link to the start menu, it could be usefull for someone.

Oh yeah, I always do a hard reset after a new rom installation. I can only guess that when I did my first sync to my laptop that the directory in My Documents got erased somehow?? All is fine now. Great ROM. This baby is FAST FAST FAST!

In reality I've not changed that value on camera registry key. Are you referring to 1.14? OEM of my rom are from wwe 1.19.

EDIT: looking better, on mine rom there isn't that key, becouse it was a TaskManager registry key(HKLM\Software\HTC\TaskManager\Lite). Then if this key gives a limit on the camera(it seems a little strange), I think it's disabled on mine rom.

In the menue where I can choose my provider, the first entry is FONIC, the second o2. When I tap on mine, o2, the next screen shows me it'll install the configuration of FONIC. And true, it installs FONIC-connections. Other, when I tap on FONIC in the first screen, I get my normal o2 settings. So, I want to tell you this, just that you know and perhaps you could write it in your second post as information for everyone, but you don't need to change this, I mean, I can imagine beeing this very, very little "fault", extremly much work until you find the reason... So, never mind what I sid, its just an information I want to give you. By the way, the same thing happened in v-2, too, and I never had this issue in panoshas or duttys ROM, which are the ROMs I tried. BUUUUUT, you are THE BEST!!!!! how do u install it?

first instaall this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431217 or this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462347 (I use HSPL, but its up to you, I was just lazy after flashing HSPL, but I think´USPL is better, cause you can flash easy back to stock ROMs).

Then open the CustomRUU.exe in the Davideuck_V-3.rar folder (with WinRAR or something similar) and follow all instructions there (e.g. connect through AvtiveSync and battery more than 50%). Then its flashing all alone, DONT DISCONNECT THE CABLE!!! After that it will reboot and start with the new ROM^^

One tip: Backup your contacts, calendar etc, with PPCPimBackup, you get it from here: http://www.dotfred.net/ (download the WM6 version). Its the best Backup-tool for changin ROMs, believe me!! So, do this, otherwise it can be that all your contacts are suddenly gone (would be terrible for me.....). Cause after every ROM-flash, everything is erased from your PPC, so be careful. And don't trust to much to full backup-tools, like spb backup or sprite backup, they all have problems when changin ROM (thats for me also very understandable, so don't be angry;) but anyway, if you flash, you want a pure and clean ROM, all your programs you can install within one or two hours, if you have many like me, but its worth the time!!). So, don't forget PPCPimBackup!!!

Now, happy flashing!!!^^ and use this ROM from davideuck, its just awesome!!;)

Regarding SD method for flashing, have you tried to flash other roms in this way and with the same SD? This interest me, becouse I don't know if I've to do something different to make it to work in that way.
For network customization, this is strange for me, first becouse here is working good, second I've not touched anything regarding this into the rom.

Hey, great rom by the rom. I tried many here but yours is really, really good.

one question:

When opening opera, two tabs of the default home page always open.

Is there a way to remedy that?

Those are not tabs, simply when you open Opera there are two processes running for few seconds, then one of these closes by itself. You see two "O" on taskbar only becouse WkTask recognise them. But I think all this is normal.

Or you mean the first screen where you read "HTC Loading..." and the second one "HTC" and the search box?

I installed the english version of gmail java and for some reason the fonts come out as square boxes...any idea how to avoid this?

Have you incountered this problem on other roms?
Becouse Java app is from 1.19 shipped rom and untouched.

Strange, Ive tried at least 20 times now, I've created some favourites to test better, and I've never seen 2 tabs opened. Always one tab, the htc default.

When I get back home tonight I'll hard reset it and then test.

Infact I've tried with my SD, but it didn't worked. But mine SD isn't the original one, then I've to buy another one, I think mine it's not so good:D

i did not forget it. Opera is working quite well with the ati dll drivers.. got no hardreset issue since yesterday morning, since flashing v3 ;)

Regarding SD method for flashing, have you tried to flash other roms in this way and with the same SD? This interest me, becouse I don't know if I've to do something different to make it to work in that way.

For network customization, this is strange for me, first becouse here is working good, second I've not touched anything regarding this into the rom.

Version 2 is good and is what I am running at the moment, my only gripe is that IE is the default browser from emails and a couple of nothing points.

V3 is 95% done so will report back when I've flashed it. :)

I am back to your ROM.. AWESOME job. Very smooth, fast and stable. I keep switching between your ROM and Leo's. I did like L26 ROM V6, but the Ringer problem killed it. So thats when you released your V-3. I am so glad that I installed it.

I think this is a keeper. Only request is.. can you give me a .cab for Voice Speed dail?? Thats the only thing I am missing.

I'm sorry but I don't have a cab for MVSD and someone has said that it can't work together with MSVC. Then, I think I'll provide two type of roms next time, one with MSVC and one with Voice Speed Dial.

yes.. since they are signed; i do not know which one is faster in performance or if there is a real difference between them two.. and i really hope, 2d performance will get better in some weeks with a better rom by htc / better drivers by qualcom and so on.

That does not mean or critics your ROM - your rom is the fastest and stable rom i know, but i am the opionion, the blackstone could be faster in the end, overall and the driver lack is really a problem.. qualcom is a problem.

Yes, imagine that my G900 was better for 2D performance and video playback, and this is really disappointing, but as you have said, we hope that htc will release a good shipped rom with new drivers to improve these aspects.
And I hope they will release a WM 6.5 rom, becouse as I've said in another thread here, I've tried a WM6.5 build yesterday and it's really buggy and many things on HD don't work. We have to consider that this is an early beta WM6.5 build, then I hope that we will be able to fix these things or that htc will fix these for all:D

For battery draining I can't see difference compared to V-1/V-2.
And I can say, people, don't complain you on the battery life, I think HD is good on this side. With my Toshiba G900 was hard to end a day! In the same conditions with HD, the battery last at least 2 days. Then, not bad at all :)

Thanks for your new Rom, First time I have tried your ROM and first impression is good. I like the fact that it has more tools and useful apps which saves me time. I have been using Dutty's 1.6 and 1.7 and they are good and stable as well. I will also test the battery on your ROM but I think if people have the vibrate function enabled it will definitely effect battery life. I disabled it myself.

One note TCMP player and Core Player are slow and lagging from the SD card. HTC Album plays fine.

i like this ROM . It's very good and the battery usage seems to be a little better than i had. It has taken me a while to get used to the new task manager but i can now see why you have put this one.

Second one has happened to me before though, but after HSPL, flashing new ROM and hardreset I thought it would be sorted out, but sadley it's not. The problem is when I softreset the device, not every time TF3D starts at all. I get stuck with a blank today screen. I try to disable and enable TF3D via setting->today, but it doesn't help . I have to reset the device several times to get TF3D started.
Does anyone have a clue what to do? :(

For Opera, yes, I've encountered that problem one or 2 times. I'll investigate on this, it could be the cache setting. I'll try somethings and report.

For this TF3D problem, I've never seen this. And consider that I flash the device at least 5 times a day. Try to do an Hard reset and see if it solve. Or you can try to reflash the device;)

Actually I have both reflashed and performed hardreset, but the problem is still there. Really strange. :confused:

I suggest to flash a shipped rom, see how goes, then if it solve, try to reflash my rom.

I'm using Dutty's 1.7 after Davideuck V-2 and with this rom HD works more than 2 days with 1 charge, more than V-2. V-2 was stable and fast too and i didn't use vibrate function. I'm curious your battery test.
