Hi,
I recently bought a P3300 Artemis and it came with Win Mobile 6

Can someone tell me How Do I check to find the ROM version for this ?

I tried putting up a 4 GB Card in this but It didn't recognize the card. I did a google and it showed some links to posts in this site only

After reading two or three posts I found there is supposedly a zip file

SDHC-Artemis.cab that I have to install on my PocketPC

Now I want to know, before installing, Will it work for sure ?

and whether I need to install it over and over again every time I do a Soft Reset ?

Also, Will it support 8 GB Card since many of the ppl that have tested it are with iPaq or some other brand .. I couldn't find anyone with a P3300 with working (Read/Write) on 4/8 GB cards

Please help

Thanks

Nope, only after each hard reset (two soft keys and the soft reset) or when you flash a new rom.

Just install the cab, soft reset and your memory card should be good to go.

your artemis will then support any microsd card be it SDHC or normal cards (those less than 2gb don't use the High Capacity format that SDHC uses...any card of 4gb or greater uses sdhc) Therefore, you can run 8 or even 16gb microsd cards.

yes it will work, and no you don't have to install it every time you do a soft reset.
You can compare a soft reset with rebooting your computer. SDHC-artemis.cab is a driver. When you reboot your computer you don't have to reinstall it. If you do a hard reset (compare that with reformatting your hard disk and reinstalling windows on a pc), you will have to reinstall the sdhc driver (as you would have to reinstall a driver for a videocard after reinstalling windows).

I hope this analogy makes things a bit clearer for you.

SDHC-Artemis.cab
Now I want to know, before installing, Will it work for sure ?

Try to be sure, there is nothing to be afraid of.

I need to install it over and over again every time I do a Soft Reset ?
No, You need to install it only once. Only hard-reset and rom flash will erase it.

Again, You have to try, to be sure, in my opinion, it will work.
