New to cooking!! need help to edit rom size

Hello guys,

I am trying to cook my own Rom. I need help from Senior Cookers. I know my knowledge is little but plz help me to grow my knowledge on cooking. Plz let me know which step is wrong..

1. Downloaded core kitchen and dos kitchen and TnT kitchen etc. I used core kitchen to extract/ dump.

2. Created Rom/ OEM/ Sys from the dump.Moved those to kitchen.

3. Then added some Oem Package to Oem folder. And created new nk.nbf file. There was no error.

Size of nk.nbf = 65 mb

Here is my Problem::

When i try to update my my customized rom i get error. I think i added a lot of package. If i reduce the size of Oem Package i can update successfully. I added those program package because i don't want to install from cabs every time and i like to test new roms. so my question is how can i edit rom size? i don't need much Space for Programs. I saw a wizard rom with 68 mb size...

Plz help me to bypass this problem.. thanks

That is exactly the problem... Your rom can not exceed 57mb!!!
Way too big. in fact the manila kitchen I posted if full to the max. in order for you to add any packages to it you have to remove some stuff.

also, you might want to use Faria's "Build rom as you like kitchen" its good for beginers.

Funny that that is the first mistake I made as well when I tried to cook for the first time. There is just not enough space :rolleyes:

Hello,

I took 1 mouth to study the prefect cooking of ROM's:D. Its not so easy and you should face many problem. Find the solution in the website but minimize postings.

Here are some tips.

* Your nk.nbf should be less then 56.9 MB or else its overcooked.
* Use hypercore to extact the ROM and use cornelha kitcen to build the ROM.
* Some or many ROM's cannot be extracted, this is due to protected ROM.
* Size of the kitchen (OEM+PACKAGE+SYS) depends upon the files and modules inside the SYS and XIP.
* If at 98% or 99% or 100%, RUU auto quits and this is due to overcooking ROM.

If you have any problem just PM but minimize postings.:p

Edit: Do not use core kitchen because it gave me many problem.

Thay includes GSM+OS+SPL/IPL+Extended Area+1st and 2nd splash screens. So thay are above 60 MB. But the OS size will be below 57 MB....:)
