give me intere xip.bin, I'll extract the files from it
Ervius,
How do you extract a module as a dll as file when you get
Error! ProcessCase0: bit 5 is zero!
trying to recover it from its 'folder' status.
extracting it directly from image ?

this appen for example when U try to recmod "nk.exe", not possible to have file from module, only have to try to dump it directly from xip.bin with old utilities, what is this dll-module that you have?

There's still definately a bug with the way the new 12.X versions and up call PRB when building Smartphone ROMS. Old versions 1.6 and below with the DOS prompt in it seem to work fine. No Smartphone ROMS will build. PRB crashes about 10 seconds into the build. It has to due with the XIP DSM file. Ervius, can you look at it?

There are still mor bugs in V12. I have testet the new version with a dum of a leo rom. But sometimes the files inculde in rom are example 6800 and somethimes without changing anythink there are 7200 files include in kitchen. The rom dont boot !!!
Going back to V1.8.2 all works fine.
I think its a problem with the automatical select witch packages would refileed or recmod... So the kitchen is not usable in this way.

You, for sure, are making something wrong because i have no problems at all while using EVK with my LEO, the first thing to remember is to Dump a shipped rom with the Kitchen itself, cook it and if it will boot then you can add one by one your custom files/reg.
For some reasons when i try to build a Rom with LZX compression, PRB crash, i solved by leaving read only attribute in all kitchen files, maybe this should be a tip for someone.

I just dump a rom with the kitchen v12 itself. First after cooking the rom without chaging somthing all was ok. After making some changes, the changes are the same changes like in V1.8.2 the rom after flashing was ok. Then after changing some mod the rom dont boot and remain on HTC bootscreen. So i dont think i make somethink wrong because the same chages work with V1.8.2. I testet it !!!!

Well I've hit a brick wall with the new kitchen. I dumped a Leo 3.14 base ROM and cooked a custom ROM in the old kitchen, the exact same ROM in the new kitchen and within minutes my Leo's out of memory and can't launch QuickShutdown. I've sat on the SDCard and Phone storage screen after a fresh boot, literally watching it count down and run out of memory.
Any ideas? I haven't even started playing with the new tweaks and settings, except for setting a 0mb PP, which I did in the old kitchen which produced a perfect ROM.

This problem is not caused by the kitchen.
combination of 3.14 and HSPL is causing this. use the search funktion to find a solution

If its not the kitchen, then why does it work fine in the much older v1.8.2 kitchen? I'm using the exact same EXT, SYS packages with the "import" function in the bottom left of the new kitchen, the OEM and everything. Else is set up when the base. Is dumped.
P.S I've been using 3.14 as my base with HSPL for months and never had a problem beside changing the ROM version number on the splash screen

You can try to disable the auto recmod or refile option. This dont work fine at well. After disabling this now the kitchen works fine for me. See my last post !!!

found one problem on new version. It cannot deal with the following registry properly. e.g.:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\AppInstall\SBSH.net PhoneWeaver]
"InstallDir"="\\windows"
"Role"=dword:00000008
;"Uninstall"="\\Windows\\AppMgr\\SBSH.net PhoneWeaver\\48C4.tmp"
The last row should not be imported, however actually it was written to the registry with ";" together.

Look for old ervius kitchen manual! Search here in XDA there are quite a few. I believe there is a sticky in this forum as well!!

Just wanted to comment on the problem I was having with my 3.14 base ROM, turns out the ROM I previously made in the old kitchen was working, but after hitting problems with 3.14 and the new kitchen, even my old ROM doesn't work anymore.
Problem solved by dropping back to an older base ROM.

Platformrebuilder does not work well with smartphones.
I would suggest you to use OS Builder from [here] (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917594)
I have used it with hTC, BenQ and Samsung smartphones - works great.

Hey everyone. It's been a while since I've been on the boards, mainly because I got kind of bored with my HD. Now I have an HD2, and I'm back at it again. I'm running the 3.14.405.2 WWE as a base and HSPL 3.03...and I've been flashing ROMs for years. Everything is going well, except I'm having sort of the same issue as ngochoangimsat had above with just that one PROVXML. I tinkered with it some and got the icons to show back up by adding the lines to the RunCC app.reg as a test. I noticed though that the Outlook Contacts, Calender, etc. links were not being created inside the Outlook folder regardless of what I've tried so far. This was all with the 12.6.3 kitchen.
Now a second issue has developed. I'd never had a problem with ervius' kitchen and thought a small bug may be present in this new version, so I decided to "stick with what works". I have my old copy of the 1.8.2 kitchen, so I dumped the NBH and created a ROM from that with no modifications whatsoever and loaded it via CustomRUU. Here's where my eyebrow raised...at the end of the RunCC package (the orange screen that loads at first-time startup, for those who don't know), it hangs. I let it sit for five minutes, no change. I went into boot loader and realoaded my previous ROM from 12.6.3 and it fired up with no problems. I redumped the NBH into a clean 1.8.2 kitchen that I downloaded thirty minutes ago from the first post (not my original, old copy), again no mods to anything, and got the same result. I've seen a few "stuck at orange screen" posts, but I only get it when I use 1.8.2 to build a ROM. Has anyone else tried an older version of the kitchen on the HD2 and had a similar experience? I'll obviosuly stick with 12.6.3 for now; I was just trying to find an easy way around the PROVXML problem.
-EDIT-
I have not ran a Task 29 at any time, but have performed hard resets after each flash.

Interestingly, it did not have a "S" attribute. I assigned it the system attribute, but it still didn't work. I went as far as copying the PROVXML from ProjectDefault_B to _A, copy/pasted contents and renamed it, still nothing.

Weird... maybe if you forgot this provxml war and make the provxml to REG then import it into a cab and set it up in the first customization... i guess a couple bytes wont takes too much for boot and install ;)

provxml to reg never worked for me, maybe iīm to dumb:-)
this *.provxml thing happens if you exclude welcomecenter from sys packages and a few others too, i think.
just open the *.provxml and look whats written inside. if you exclude one of these packages the *.provxml wouldnīt be includet into your rom because of errors.
for me itīs just welcomecenter if i remember right...

Thanks in advance

25th March 2011, 05:01 PM
From 12.4.3 I'm not sure about just the EXE update, I don't see why not (ervius is good about the one-file-update thing). I'm used to modifying the PROVXML's and REG files directly, and I don't have much experience with creating CABs or converting CABs to packages for first run customization and when I try the results aren't great...Inesoft Cash Organizer 2008 and Resco Explorer 2008 don't seem to act right when I build them into a ROM, although I'm pretty sure it's something I'm doing wrong. (I'm not big on having a ton of apps just to have them, so there's very little outside of the factory ROM that I need.)
I haven't messed much with my original issue in the past week...it's warming up nicely here so I had to get the 'ole Busa out for a ride and I'm planning on taking my CCNA exam in a bit, so phone stuff is kind of on hold. I'll flirt with the search button a little and see if I can get a better grasp on creating CABs and packages. I wonder if the "Force PROVXML" option would make any difference, then again, why would they have to be forced to run in the first place?

Can any of the expert cooks help me with the following. My WM 6.5 phone has 512 MB NAND storage and I have downloaded 2 version of the ROMs and they both worked fine with the following characteristics:
- ROM1 format the NAND storage correctly to 512 MB but in another language
- ROM1 format the NAND storage to 80 MB in English.
I have extracted the xip and imgfs from the two ROMs but have not been able to pin point where the instruction that says something like "format 512MB" or "format 80MB".
Desperately need your help.
