OH MY GOD ITS WORKING!!!
I LOVE YOU NATF
YOU'RE A GOD!!!!!!!!!
*bows down*
unfortunatly though, I'm still having trouble extracting your rom
(which is odd, considering I've been using them since the day I bought my phone)

Has anyone experienced any program icons flashing or blinking? I'm trying out some different things to fix it, just want to know if I was the only one experiencing it.

If no one else is experiencing this problem, is there a way to fix it? I'm thinking it's something in the registry but I'm not sure. I did a soft reset, hard reset(and restored my info by different ways, which is why I think it may be my registry), and reflashed. And i'm thinking it might be in the registry. If anyone have a fix it would be appreciated, thanks.

Does anyone have problems with the camera? When shooting a photo it takes quite a while to return to shooting mode and I think the picture isn't saved either.

Thanks.

Later Edit: I get the error "Unable to capture photo. Internal error"..... Doesn't matter if I set the camera to store the pics on the internal memory or on the card.

Later Edit2: ANother error message "Unable to initialize camera. Failed to set up the camera device"

Ditto here. I do not see the need for slide to answer, but some people think it is so neat. I guess I am going to have to stay with 4.2 if slide to answer is in 4.3 and can not be removed.
I like it. It helps NOT answer the phone when I pull it out of my pocket.

yeah I think it's neat too but it would be better if it was black :)
Yeah, right. How in the heck would black make it better? What's wrong with a little color?

This is often caused by partial corruption of the sd card. You need to plug it into a PC and run a scan on the disk in windows to repair the file system. This can happen if you soft reset when the phone is writing to the card. TF3D freezes because it can't properly scan the card for content.
I will try that. Thank you for the suggestion. I haven't the problem during the last few reboots, but will scan the card anyway and keep that idea in mind for next time.

Make the icon that flashes, read-only.

Weather Master attempts to reset the file attribute every time the database is accessed. But in truth, with files cooked in to the rom, you don't actually adjust the file, but cause a shadow copy of the file to be made. Something is messing with that process. Installing it from a cab will fix that since the cab will install a fresh DB file and that will force a shadow copy to be made.

I'm absolutely clueless to why it's not working.
Well, buger, Joe. I have no clue either. I downloaded NATF's kitchen and have beedn trying different thigns, so if you have any ideas, please let me know.

As Gary said, make the icon read only. This issue popped up in my private beta, but went away when I switched out the SYS folder (still from official 20764). I never had a chance to diagnose because the folder swap fixed it.

I fixed the weather issue. :)

My solution is to not include the 2330xxx_manilla file that contains the DB in the ROM. Instead, I cabbed it up, and install it (w/out Read Only) during customization. Works great. :D

I have a Fuze, At&t carrier with it of course. I have tried both the 1.11.25.01 and 1.08.20 radios. (Figured I would try another radio if I had to go through reflashing anyway. I just got done reflashing, even downloaded another copy of NATF, just to rule out corrupted download. Everything is working great. BUT I still cannot use my wireless. Still the same issue. Says its connected, shows 2 solid arrows next to the wireless symbol. But still nothing will download.

have you paid your wireless bill? i know that they will cut off data first before they cut off voice to make you pay or call them. ;)

Thank you. I solved the problem. I had the described behavior because I have set the "Encode photos in portrait mode" option to "Yes" in Advanced Config. Switching to "No" solved the problem.

I modified the weather package to not include the file at all. Until my CAB runs, the file does not exist at all in the ROM. This solves the SQL error, and saves us 354kb of precious space on our phones. :p

I had previously the 4.2 version, and I installed also the S2U2-1.44-QVGA. As a result (or at least this is what I believe) everything went south, with several freezes, time lags for different commands, etc. Do you think I'll have the same problems with the 4.3 ROM? Or to rephrase the questions, are there known incompatibilities between 4.3 and S2U2?
Thanks
Adriciu

The Fuze/Touch Pro is a VGA device and not QVGA. You need to install the VGA version of S2U2.

Yes, I concur. One question. You took the 2330xxxx file out of the ROM, then took the 2330xxx file out of the Weather Master file, and then put it in a custom cab. Could you have left the file in Weather Master and run it in place of your custom cab?

This is all new to me and I'm still figuring out how this stuff works.

The Weather Master OEM package does not come with the Manila file. It contains the exe and SQL DB file only.

The Weather Master CAB comes with the file, however, so that is why it works everytime.

1.02.25.32...I've read that one works well with 4.2 (and I think I saw one post about it working well with 4.3). I believe this is the stock one that came on the phone from the AT&T store.

I've also seen many posts saying that how well a radio works is dependant on your location...I live in the Seattle area (well Bellevue technically)...does anyone know if this is the best radio for me?

Another random thought was that I installed Fuzeberry after I finished upgrading to NATF's 4.3 image...I'm not sure if that could affect the battery drain though.

and just to make sure I give kudo's where they are due...everything else works great NATF...once my wife lets me I'll be donating you a cup-o-coffee. ;)

This is not a bug. The new build has a new comm manager. The newer comm managers are made this way. If you connect to the pc it disables the wifi button. It does this because they assume you have no need to connect to wifi if you are connected to the pc. When you are connected to the pc you get internet via USB. The only way to make this go away is to revert to an older comm manager. This has to be done via cooking and cannot be changed by the user.

It should work as expected if not connected via USB

Just upgraded from 4.2 to 4.3. Here are some observations:

It appears the new comm manager also does not have the ability to turn on / off 3G. In addition, the data connection cannot be turned on (but can be turned off when on). Instead, it brings you to the Connections Control Panel. Arunppenthal, could you please explain why the comm manager only can be changed by cooking a new ROM? I would like to understand some of the intricacy of the ROM please : )

On a side note, when there is an active data connection, the Edge Status icon does not change to the up/down arrows to indicate an active data connection. (I think this is what happened on 4.2). Please correct me if I am wrong.

The responsiveness of TouchFlo and everything seems to be just as fast as 4.2. I like the new HTC dialer with sliders. : )

I'm not sure if this is possible, but is there a way to set my Fuze so that you have to hold down the power button for a couple seconds to turn it on (instead of just being able to tap the power button once to turn on the phone)???

The reason I ask is because sometimes when I turn the phone off and put it in my pocket, it will turn itself on(because the power button was accidentally tapped in my pocket) and then I will get a call and it starts ringing, when it was supposed to be off.

Thanks.

By default, you cannot turn 3G on/off in the Comm Manager. v4.2 was using Aruppenthal's custom Comm Manager, which added that option.

You can use Advanced Config to add a 3G toggle in Comm Manager.

I have no problem turning the data connection on. I tapped the icon, and it initiated a 3G data session.

For me, I have a big H for signal, and if a data connection is active, I get a little H on top of my signal bars.

Hi, just installed 4.3 and I see that the "connection setup" wizard is gone.
Do I need a cab for that or is just a missing sortcut ?

Anyway, I've installed a "HTC connection setup.cab" and the problem is solved.

it is something people installed themselves. your problems could be related to a few things. id check into getting the correct rilphone.dll that matches your radio, the one installed in the rom is for the new raph 1.11.25.01. Not sure if that will help, but cant hurt. I personally had battery issues with that raph radio so i went back to the blackstone 1.10.25.25 which works for me like a champ. but you can install the new raph one without security unlocking, so id suggest trying it, takes a few minutes and alot of people seem to love it. i just wasnt one of them

I'm aware that it's a fairly unusual software to need, but after much research it seems to be the only solution for allowing easily switchable input of English with both Japanese AND Chinese. Shame it's having issues with 4.3...I've used every ROM since 2.2 and it's always worked just fine :)

Nope. The 5.05 WWE ROM comes with this dialer.

The new HTC Black theme I switched to (for the true black bars) has green highlighting by default. If you manage to find the keys needed to change the colors, please share and I will gladly include them in v4.4. :)

Thanks. As far as the green issue goes. I checked around and it may be something in one of the manilla files that has config data in it.

I verified this by using the .TSK i posted pile of pages back and turning off TouchFlo3D. The highlight was grey and not green. Once i re-enabled the TF3D the menu highlight went back to green.

I dont know my manilla well enough to find it though, and digging through 400+ files is not my idea of fun!

Another big problem. After flashing 4.3, some software just would not install into the storage card (examples are Plecodict and Machines of War etc). No obvious reasons were given. Some software would suggest installing elsewhere other than my storage card.

At first, I thought my 4GB Sandisk microSD died. So I bought a new Kingston 4GB microSD last night. The exact same thing happened. I re-flashed the ROM, did hard-resets etc. To no avail. Some software just would not install. This didn't happen in previous versions of NATF.

Am I the only one? Is this related to the ROM?

I had this problem with a program I use (PocketAlarm). I hard reset and installed PocketAlarm first and it installed without any problems.

With 4.3, this ROM is just about perfect for me. Everything works smoothly and my battery life with the 1.11.25.01 radio has been great. I think this is the Rom that'll finally get me to settle down and stop flashing around....

I am having one issue that I reported here with 4.2 (didn't see it with 4.1 or other ROMS I've tried). Intermittently I get popup msgs: Cannot execute TskSchedule, Cannot execute Calnot and Cannot execute Replog. It happens when I'm not connected to my PC. Syncing and alarms (G-alarm) work fine so I think it's more of an annoyance.

I've googled around and seen numerous references to the problem, but no fixes. Is anyone else seeing this issue with this ROM and have any ideas how to resolve it.

Thanks

I like it myself too. The main reason I stuck with the AT&T theme for so long is because HTC uses drab/depressing Black/Gray for everything!

I can not seem to find the list of differences between standard and lite versions of the ROM. Do you still have that somewhere?

What I would really like is a totally clean version so that I could just load only the stuff I want via UC. For example, I do not use the touch flo stuff, and I hate the HTC volume control...

Thanks.

I don't use vibrate only much, but I think that setting the phone to vibrate doesn't work properly -- or at least the way I expected. I don't remember the stock ROM behavior, so...

If I click the Ring tag and set it to Vibrate only, and then I click System tab, the system tab shows 0 volume. If I then set the system volume, the Ring tab shows that the ring volume is the same as System. I haven't verified if this is a graphics issue only or a functional issue.

Shouldn't these be independent of each other?

Use Da_G's custom rom if that is what you want (the build your own rom is slick and lets you pick exactly what you want to put in), even using NATF's kitchen to build your own will give you tf3d and alot of other HTC stuff.

I do use da_g's. Actually, I have not yet settled on NATF or da_g. But I would like to be able to compare the speed of both roms on my Fuze with my software installed in a "apples to apples" kind of way. Plus, I like the look of the new NATF ROM better. I guess what I am looking for is NATF's look/speed without any extra HTC apps in a simple (da_g style) kitchen form. I looked at moving the ROM/OEM/SYS over from NATF to da_g's latest kitchen, but it did not work and I do not really understand it so I gave up.

Any way to get that old theme to work with the newer versions of TF3D? (with the HD Contacts, etc)?

it is something people installed themselves. your problems could be related to a few things. id check into getting the correct rilphone.dll that matches your radio, the one installed in the rom is for the new raph 1.11.25.01.

Ok...first off, thank you very much for taking the time to give me a suggestion on how to fix this...now for the stupid question alert...

How will I know if the radio build I switch to is not working right? I'm really not sure what "radio" applies too...

will my device just not work right?
will my phone call quality be worse?
will I get worse data tranfer rates?,
will my GPS not work right?

sorry for the ignorance...the thread about radio's doesn't really seem to cover what exactly a radio does...just how to flash it to a different one. hehehe.

Does someone have either the certificate or a version of QuickGPs that works with 4.3? GPS is pretty much useless without it for me.

New question:
So that bug earlier, where installed programs don't show up in the "remove programs" - i know there was a fix posted but it only worked for programs installed AFTER the fix.

what are you guys doing for programs that you've installed BEFORE the fix, if a new version comes out? (i want to install the new skyfire but can't remove the old version obvously..:)).

You can still remove it. If you start to install SkyFire, it will still know that an older version is installed, and prompt you to remove it first. They just don't show in the list.

The phone will work; it may be better, it may be worse. It really all depends on the coverage in your area, and the apps you have installed on the phone. Any radio from the Raphael radio thread should work on your device, however, to use a non-Raphael radio on your device, your phone must be Security Unlocked.

I've personally had good results in my area with the 1.02.25.28 Raphael radio. But the radio I'm currently using seems to give me stronger signal and better/quicker GPS locks.

So, the best thing I can say is, try a few. Flashing them is relatively easy, and you can always go back to your stcok radio if a new one doesn't work well.

NATF,
I'm still using v4.2 Fuze Standard, and ran across a new bug. While in the dialer screen you can scroll down to see your most recent calls. if you scroll down past the like 5 or 6 entries then the call records start to overlap. i haven't added any apps that i think modify the dialer screen at all... is there a fix for this? does it happen in v4.3?

As for this app, it must be hit or miss. I get calls all day long and the only ones i miss are the people i dont wanna talk to!!

Seriously though. It may be a pressure setting or threshold setting that may be causing your woe's as the slide i can do with minimal force and it works everytime. Once in a while i see some lag. HTC had a patch for the HD version that is suppose to clean up the lag, but not sure if one will ever exist for us.

Don't know if it matters or not, but I installed the 1.02.25.28 and 1.02.25.32 radio's and both seem to make my battery drop about 1% per minute. I don't know if that has anything to do with the rilphone.dll or not...but I guess I'll go back to 1.11.25.01 since it seems to not really matter what I'm using.

Unless the rilphone.dll is the culprit I'm guessing that the radio is not what's causing my problems. Is there any other thoughts as to what could be causing my battery to drain so rapidly? It couldn't be the Fuzeberry theme I added could it?

About the first day I had this ROM flashed on my phone (I did 1.11.25.01 radio at the same time), my battery died a quick death; since then (meaning at least one full night on the charger) battery life has been phenomenal, with the only slight exception being Wifi -- it completely sucks the juice out of the battery.

So my advise to everyone having battery issues: try flashing in the evening, remove and reinstall the battery after setting up the phone, and then charge it overnight. Like I said, it worked for me. YMMV.

Don't forget to hard reset after flashing, and before customizing! I learned this the hard way, from my Wizard days: a hard reset after flashing keeps the ROM bugs away!

Also, disabling haptic response also goes a LONG way in increasing your battery life! Turn it on to show off to friends, turn it off for everyday use! ;)

These files are for dropping the OEM/ROM/SYS folders into a "kitchen" to use as a base for cooking your own ROM based off of NATFs. Basically, NATF has done all of the difficult work for you already. And many people use these because they like NATF's ROM but have preferences that they would like to change that can only be done in the cooking process. If you are interested in cooking I'd tell you to check out Da_G's simple ROM kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471288) to start out and then move on from there.

Yes, haptic response is touch-vibrate response. Disable that for increased battery life.

And I did do a hard reset after flashing the radio, but only because I flashed the radio immediately after flashing NATF's ROM. Many will tell you it's unnecessary AFTER A RADIO UPGRADE ONLY.

Moral of the story: if in doubt, hard reset! :)

follow the instructions in the Da_G build your own thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471288), it is the same process but NATF's kitchen has more packages built in. If you use Vista you have to disable UAC or it will not work.

I think I solved the problem of installing some programs in the storage card. It appears that the problem occurs when the installation need to copy large data files into the storage card. Half-way during installation, it would hang and then an error message requesting the installation to be done in the device instead of the storage card. This happens for a number of software, not just one, and only in this version of ROM.

Increasing the system filter cache in Advanced Config to the max somehow solved the issue. I wonder if this has something to do with the new HTC built - perhaps how it handles large data files. However, installation into the storage card is much slower than in other versions. But I'm happy it installs now.

Perhaps somebody else can shed more light on this issue.

i did download that but i dont know what to do with it now. the reason i ask is because i just got the 4.3 natf and he said in a post that some errors were fixed and uploaded to the kitchen files. so i want to know how to update my rom with the fixes.

thanks,
mike

To start the process, run RaphaelKitchen.cmd. But you need to spend a LOT of time reading on how to cook.

Anyone having problems using internet sharing? I'm using an ATT fuze, and cannot get the Att comm manager to recognize the device, and I cannot set up a DUN connection. I don't know if this is related to the ROM or not, but I was able to do this with the stock rom. I've tried this on both a vista machine and an xp, no joy. Haven't seen any issues like this in search, so any ideas? I'm sure it's something I'm missing.

No problem here. I just tested ICS. Make sure to select MEdia Net as the connection, ISP.Cingular will not work unless you have tethering on your plan.

I can't get video share to work. I can't start a call using it, neither can anyone start it with me on the line. Any idea? Also can we add this option or tab in the dialer, once the call has been started using cellular first?

Have you ever had it working? I have been struggling with this issue since day one. A tech guy from at&t told me today it was my Fuze and not the service. I also gave him 4 websites of people with the fuze are having issues. Please let me know if you get this working and what you did to resolve it. side note: My sim card in a regular 3g phone video share works. side note 2: my sim card in a stock brand new Fuze no video share. so Not the Chefs fault.

The weird thing is, this issue was reported (and verified by me) in the beta, but you're the first to report it with the release version.

Yea I'm confused to, don't know why it's happening to me. I thought it was something in my registry or something. And it seems as though every new or updated program I install, the icon will flash. Of course checking the read-only box fixes it but just thought I'd update you on that

I know there have been quite a few people asking what the differences are between Standard and Lite, and I am currently working on cabbing up all the removed programs. Once that is done, it will be easy to tell the difference. :)

If you do that, then you will not need to upload two versions of the ROM anymore. Just upload the Lite version and the cabs needed to add on all the stuff for the Full version.

Sorry, but that just doesn't work. It makes UC pretty much useless.

I am not sure I follow. If I want the standard version, I download the lite version and the cabs and either set up the cabs in UC, or install them manually after the flash.

Exactly. Some things are better built in and we don't want to have to set it up. We want automatic install, thus the use of UC.

I am the opposite. I would rather have nothing built in and get to fine tune the setup. I have my UC set so that after the install it populates the registry with the settings/registration for each app. It is a pleasure. But that is only good if I am using the da_g kitchen. When I flash this Lite ROM, it is not truly lite, so, for example, I can not use my version of Opera, I do not know how to get rid of the HTC volume, and all the other stuff that is "added" that I either do not want or already have in my UC script.

The problem is that there are three types of folks on these boards. There are the NATF and da_g type that know the technicalities of the OS inside and out. Then there are those like me who are very technical in general, (I design and write software for a living) but do not have the knowledge about the low level details of the mobile OS, but are still pretty helpful for most other stuff. Then there are the folks who should be using the iPhone. :) We try and help them as much as we can. As a "power user", I want as much control as I can get. However, if you do that, then the newbies flashing for the first time will be lost. So we compromise. OK. Enough soap box.

In any case, I wonder what the real difference is between NATF and da_g's kitchen. I think they use the same base ROM and I know they share info and fixes. So is it only the installed apps?

So if you don't know how to write software or modify an os you have to use the iphone.... That sure says something about winmo phones and the community.

That is why there are different 'chefs' making different ROMs. You fnd the chef that makes the ROM you want. If NATF doesn't make the ROM you want, someone else does. Don't suggest the chef make his ROM to fit you.

Sorry I was not clear enough. You need to have some level of technical competence to own a winmo phone or you will end up hating it. I have made the mistake of raving about my phone to a number of friends who do not have that much technical knowledge, and I have spent dozens of hours getting them out of trouble. It has nothing to do with writing software. It has to do with being familiar with computers and windows. If you are not, then use the iPhone. It's beauty is its simplicity. You can not say that about winmo. As a matter of fact, I prefer winmo because of its complexity. However, I will no longer recommend these phones to people who will just be a burden on those of us who have the ability to tweak. It is not a lack of intelligence on their part, rather a lack of experience. By the way, this is the same (or similar) paradigm in almost anything you do. There is a tradeoff between power and ease of use. And that is what a ROM cooker has to deal with too.

That is why there are different 'chefs' making different ROMs. You fnd the chef that makes the ROM you want. If NATF doesn't make the ROM you want, someone else does. Don't suggest the chef make his ROM to fit you.

To continue my thought... I am not suggesting that NATF or any other chef do anything to "fit" me. I was suggesting that if the only difference between Lite and Standard was a set of cabs, then he could save server space by putting up the Lite version with those cabs. (Like I have seen done may times on these boards over the last few years.) Maybe I do not understand enough about the way the installation process works. Maybe the programs work better if they are part of the ROM? I do not know. I was just making a suggestion. I love NATF ROMS and have been using them for most of the last 3 or 4 months. But how the hell am I supposed to "fnd the chef that makes the ROM you want" if I can't ask questions about the underlying structure of the ROMS?

And by the way, if you are going to patrol the boards and stop people from making suggestions to the chefs, you will have to comment on about half of the posts. The chef is an intelligent man. He can choose to ignore or respond at his whim. I don't think he needs a security chief.

True. We all learn by asking and as long as the question was not asked before in the thread (or on the board for that matter) you should be able to ask what you want without being flamed!

Does anyone experience issue in Opera where Gsensor minimize application from landscape and goes back to TF3D screen when reverting to portrait mode?
Also when pulling the keyboard out screen goes to phone app before showing set of icons and same when closing the keyboard.
That was not the case in V 4.2...
Any thoughts on that?

Had, as in i'm back on 4.2 now. I posted a couple pages back about my experience with it.
Maybe I'll try the charging over night thing.

I did the charge overnight thing...didn't seem to help

I also did a hard-reset just in case this morning and in 5 minutes the chage dropped 2%, which is better but I would expect that within 5 minutes there should be no drop in the %. This time I didn't do anything after the hard-reset, I just let the phone sit after going through configuration. No SD card installed, but I did put my SIM card back in.

I'm getting scared I've ruined my phone. :( My wifes gonna kill me if I spent $300 on a phone that works for an 1 1/2 hours between charges.

I guess I can try going back to 4.2 but I was having battery troubles at first with that release as well...and it feels like a workaround, not a fix to the problem.

Anyone else have a suggestion on what to try? Is it possible I torched the battery itself?

can the next one be a bugfix only release? freeze new features/drivers/programs and go for stability...

I second the motion! :)

This would be an awesome idea!

Integrate the the Remove Programs issue cab; put back the Upload to Facebook feature; make sure the weather database issue is fixed; disable the MS scroll; yada yada; etc. etc....

...and 4.3, here I come! :)

I would totally welcome a 4.31 type of thing!

I had been using the Blackstone radios for a while. They seemed to work the best for me using the ROMs that were based off of 21XXX OS builds. Since the new official ROM has come out, I have been messing with ROMs that use that as a base. On all of these ROMs the Blackstone radios were terrible for battery. So I ended up flashing the radio that came with the official ROM 1.11.25.01. After letting the battery drain and then giving it a full charge, my battery life is back to (or at least close to) what is was on the Blackstone radios.

So try flashing a new radio...

I flash 4.3 standard fuze rom last night, and it's working flawless for me.

At first it was really unstable for me, it lagged when I was doing the most basic navagating with touchflo, just testing out the basic functions such as contacts, photo, calender, etc. After a few softresets it worked fine and damn it's still fast. I would say it's better than v4.1 which was the version I upgraded from. GPS gets a fix pretty fast now, even with AGPS on. TouchFlo3D is faster than ever, and really smooth. I can view photos fine from my microSD. I haven't tried videos or music yet, will do that later today. Opera is much faster, everything is better overall.

After doing the remove program registry fix this rom is near perfect. I need to install the .cab TurboX2 posted a few post back to see if that restores the upload to facebook/youtube option for the album. Will post back again to varify if it works or not.

Thanks NATF!

Hmmm...I may have to eat my words. After that initial power drop it's slow'd way down to the point where it's only dropped 6% in the last 1 1/2 hours. That's very acceptable IMHO.

So it seems that doing the a couple hard-resets fixed this the same as it did in 4.2. I just don't understand how just hard-reseting changes the way the power is drawn from the device. All the same things are installed in the same order...it's the same exact hardware.

If someone understands this and wouldn't mind taking a crack at teaching this old dog something I'd really appriciate it...I hate when I don't understand something. :-\

Fast sleep seems to once again be "working" in this build. It's been a struggle with all ROMs below 209xx trying to get the fast sleep disabled.

The dialer included in the ROM is an HTC dialer, so it has native support of Video Calling. I am going to toy around with stripping the ROM down to the WM dialer and then installing PhoneCanvas by CAB during customization. If that works, then people can simply uninstall the dialer if they don't like it, and install the one they do. :)

So I flashed around 1900 last night, kept it on the charger until I woke up in the morning around 0700. The rapid loss is gone. I'm getting similar battery life that I did with 4.2....so far.
What I did different though, was enable all those power saver options on Advanced Config. I don't remember doing that on 4.2. Not sure if that made a difference but I can test it out some more tonight.

I just flashed my HTC Fuze from the stock AT&T Rom to the 4.3 NATF rom, I am quite impressed.

My only complaint is the performance seems to suffer from waking the device from its black screen state. For about 10 seconds it is slow and choppy. Overall the rom is a lot faster than the standard stock rom, and many of the bugs and complaints with the stock rom are resolved.

I am curious how much of a difference flashing the radio can make. I occasionally get calls on campus where the phone will ring once and then I will get a missed call notification. I am betting this is due to signal. This happens rarely.

I found a website that gave instructions the first time I did it but can't remember where it is and flashing ROMs is not something I want to have any guesswork involved with. Anyone want to throw me a bone? Thanks.

Okay I think I found the info. Need to instal HardSPL first than CustomRUU? Unfortunately I can't get HardSPL to install. It worked fine the first time. This is a new stock phone I'm flashing. Wish I could find the instructions that work. When I try to install HardSPL, the phone disconnects and goes black, then reconnects and then I get Error 262. Activesync works fine. Help!

Hey NATF,
I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but, the bookmark's address for the Cellular Video in Opera might be incorrect.
http://cellularvideo.cingular.com is what is there now. Shouldn't it be http://cingularvideo.cingular.com?

Also, is there a way to get the website icons to appear next to the bookmark name insead of the black star when you're viewing your bookmarks under opera? I know it is there for monx's ROM. So, I'm wondering if it is a setting or something simple.

Thanks!

Ive done my searching and I havent found any other issues regarding this or possible fixes either. The issue is under the settings/notifications tab where you can check "Display message on screen" it is seemingly unchecking itself. Ive waited awhile to bring this up as it might be just an operator error, but its been ongoing since 4.1 if I can recall correctly. I have no other programs installed, just 4.3 standard, straight up... maybe others have noticed this issue.

STILL AN EXCELLENT ROM THO!!!:D THANKS NATF

I have had this problem since stock rom. seems that we arent meant to see the pop up of the notification. seems the setting only stays 24hours then its gone. very strange.

Hey NATF we have a solution to this,
I just downloaded the cab that had been recently released that has the HTC Album which includes social networking.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=457101&highlight=facebook&page=2

Ive tested it out on my phone, and thus far it seems to be working flawlessly

I played youtube videos fine with the youtube client, and the album works correctly from the camera, i was able to see the pictures of facebook and the videos on Youtube fine. I was able to even watch the slideshow fine.. and damn. ur rom is fast enough to make these transistions smooth--- This just goes to show that ive been helping too many ppl out with stock Fuze's and TP's from Att and Sprint .lol

You should include this as a cab on post 4- or as a part of the rom if you like.

AND U GUYS SHOULD STOP FLAMING EACHOTHER.. ur words are a waste of space on the forum

NATF I can also confirm this works, although I've only uploaded one photo to facebook. Running 4.3 fuze standard fyi.

What is the easiest and best way to be able to change the TF3D wallpaper on all tabs on NATF's rom???

ThanksHas this been answered? Did a search and didn't see much. It seems that only the home screen gets changed while the rest of the tabs have the stock wall paper burned into tf3d.

After searching for an hour. I found this: (mUn BackGround4AllPages v.02.cab) (14/10/08)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432951

Installed cab and it works fine. Maybe NATF can include it in his ROM.

I know that TF3D disables a lot of the pop-up settings due to the features built into it. (i.e Missed Call pop-up disabled due to Missed Call line on main TF3D screen.)

Well, now that I have a nice 3 day weekend to play around with v4.3, I have a few things to report.

I, too, am having unusual battery drain issues. I have removed all likely suspects from a software perspective (s2u2, etc). I have tried 4 radio versions ranging from stock to Dia to BlkSt...about to try the latest Qtz radio that has been mentioned. I know this hasn't proven itself a ROM issue at this point, but I thought I'd indicate that I'm having the issue.

The other I'm having, which is now proving quite annoying while diagnosing the battery issue, is with the "remove programs" bug. I have modified HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001005 entry to both 24 and 16 but I can only see 8 apps in Remove Programs. I had to reinstall S2U2 to get it to show up so I could uninstall it properly. So, I have a number of apps (I estimate about 15, counting initial ROM cabs) missing and can't get the list to become complete. Is there another method of getting this list back? Is it necessary to apply this reg change after hard-reset, BEFORE installing anything else, in order to see the initUC cabs?

These two things aside, this is probably the best build yet! I'm so glad the SMS read and xT9 issues are a thing of the past. :)

As always, keep up the fantastic work NATF!

Set it to the default of 16. It has to be set before any cabs are installed. I feel 4.4 will be one very stable ROM. NATF has made some great changes since 4.3 was put out.

As for the radio. I went to the new radio and the first day it only lasted about 12 hours. Today, I have it off the charger for about three hours and I"m still at 97%. It seems to get better each day. Go figure. I don't have a clue.

Does anyone else know what i can do? Is this a known problem?

Good to know...granted, I'm not about to hard reset after I just got everything configured for the sake of this one tiny fix. It seems that cabs installed after the fix show up just fine...I shouldn't need to manually uninstall anything else anyway.

So you are still running 1.11.25.01 and getting good performance? I just installed it, so I guess I'll see for myself. Is there a forum or wiki thread with all the rilphone.dll's (Curious, anyone play around with ril.dll?) and what radio they are native to? I would like to play with swapping the dll's to see if that has any impact on battery in a daily use scenario.

Finally got around to playing with GPS. I'm having some pretty weird results here. Using GPS Test, I get one of two things, a solid 9 sats and what appears to be fantastic functionality (note: "appears"...I'll get to that.) or I get a fix that repeatedly flashes every second between having an 8 or 9 sat fix to having NOTHING! This is with v1.11.25.01.qtz radio and AGPS seems to have no effect either way. Now, when it does maintain a fix (sometimes takes several inits of the GPS), Google Maps will show a position that up to a quarter of a mile off...the closest I can get it to accurate is about 3/4 of a city block off target. Previous releases (minus longer fix times) had a very perfect fix on location.

I'm still playing around with it to discern a pattern...

I know this is an "issue" I've had with multiple ROMs (I'm reasonably certain it's in v4.3, too). I sync 4 email accounts and receive about 50 messages a day...so I have mine set on vibrate only...hence, the issue has never bothered me. But I have noticed that pOutlook won't sound the alert until it is idle (not syncing an account)...so if you have multiple accounts set to download often, there may be times when it never seems to sound off because it's spending all of its time syncing accounts.

How many accounts do you sync? Are they IMAP, POP3, or exchange account(s)? (I use exchange and 3 IMAPs...I hate POP3 and its lack of features.)

I am using the sd flash method BTW....probably should have mentioned this.

I went back and formatted the microSD....and that fixed it...maybe is was due to the other files i had on the card even though it has worked before....oh well...will post this for anyone else that may experience this.

yeah, mine is working better than it did from the factory at this point but i get the feeling if i were to hard-reset again it could very possible go back to doing the massive drain thing.

i'm starting to get the feeling it really has nothing to do with the rom or the radio...and just happens to be brought on by hard-resets

bottom line is it's working and unless there is some pretty spectacular changes in the next NATF or fuzeberry releases i'm not touching my fuze for a while...hehehe

Try this:

<characteristic type="HKCU\ControlPanel\Gestures\Touch" translation="filesystem">
<parm name="Disabled" datatype="integer" value="1"/>
</characteristic>

I messed up in my PROVXML, and it's actually set to "0" which does not disable the MS touch scrolling. :o

This fixed the finger flick scrolling issue in inbox for me. Not sure about the code part of the PROVXML--I have never woked in there. I changed it through total commander:

Plugins--registry--HKCU--Control Panel--Touch--Disabled--and change the Value to 1. Then soft reset and you are good to go.

I just wanted to post this in case someone--like me--is not familiar with the XML file.

Hello All,

I just switched from 4.2 to 4.3. First off... this is the best version yet, IMHO. Very fast, very solid.

That said... it appears that touch-scrolling in HTC Album is no longer working correctly. I've found that dragging to the bottom or top will cause the photo album to continuously scroll (until you let go), which is an okay workaround for now. Touch-scrolling in HTC Album was fine in 4.2.

If you do a search you will find you answer. Its actually just a few pages back that someone answered the same question again. You have to change a registry key to allow all them to be seen. It only effects the programs installed after you fix the registry though.

I think there is a cab floating around here on xda to change the mapping to/from Fuze or TP. That should be all you need after installing the Fuze rom.

I did a search and could not find anyone who is having this problem with NAFT 4.3 Fuze lite.

Issue: My battery icon and strength is not depleting! It stays stuck at a particular battery level and that's about it. It won't even go down after 1 hours of straight music playing. To see how much battery I used up, I have to turn off the phone and back on to see that I've drained about 3/4 of the battery.

Is anyone having this issue also?

NATF, is there a fix?

Thanks guy!

-----

I am also having issues where no programs that I've installed are showing up on the program list.

Lastly, this ROM is great! However, the 4.3 Rom lags more than 4.2 when I slide out my keyboard. Is there a fix for this?

2 things.

First: in camera mode after going into settings and taking a picture you are not able to go back into settings to make a different change without exiting and coming back into camera app

Second: Am I crazy? Am I the only one? when I am using wifi at home and leave the wifi seems to turn itself off and when i arrive back home it turns itself back on. I havent installed anything that would do this on its own so any thoughts?

Now that's funny!...To tell you the truth, I think you've asked a valid question as I've done a modicum of searching and haven't come up with much. It becomes especially pertinent as its a great way to get a V4.3 + fixes.

There is this wiki (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=419746) but it's fairly new so there's not a whole lot there. The wiki is actually a few extracts from DaG's thread on the "simple" Raphael (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471288) kitchen...but that thread is geared towards using DaG's Simple ROM with the Raphael kitchen (although there's an occasional reference to/by NATF).

Fortunately though, the simple instructions in the wiki are adequate as NATF has supplied all that's necessary in the kitchen download...it's really not tough to pull the kitchen down, select a few packages to include/exclude (just a few as many are baked in and not listed as packages)...and cook your own custom ROM (kind of...as NATF's done the heavy lifting).

Edit: Good kitchen tutorial link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411915)

Now, to do any more than the above, shoot...I've not taken it much further...although I'd like to...but I'll probably wait until the wiki matures a bit and actually tells me how to do more things.

As a long time NATF user, I'm baffled by my current problem. Twice now it's locked up and on reboot it freezes on the splash screen with the radio etc. information. No way to recover shy of a hard reset.

As I was having issues with my exchange connection last night I caved and did another HR without the SIM or SD card. I reset up my exchange connection, my Gmail account. Then changed the registry for the Add/Remove, found and tried to install the 4.3 Quick Fix cab which failed. Did a reboot to save the registry change and it locked up again.

If it boots without the SD Card, then there is a good chance something is wrong on the file system on the SD Card. Do a chkdsk on the SC Card and see it finds any errors. I too had this problem and the chkdsk fixed it.

I agree with you here. TF3D is a bit unresponsive, but the rest of the OS is speedy, which makes little sense. When I say unresponsive, I mean, when I touch launch something, like trying to reply to an SMS or launch an email to read, it takes a while for it to come up.

Good CAB to switch the taskbar/TF3D highlighting from green/grey to blue:

NRGZ28 Blue Manila (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3305525&postcount=5)

A bit nicer (i.e. colorful) set of TF3D tab icons (missing Call History though):

Mzshortay Icons2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3328272&postcount=6)

And finally...a sweet cab installable blue theme:

BlueTF3DCFC (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467893) I like the ability to see the full email (no envelope), but dislike the icons on the bottom...so just installed Mzshortay's on top of it...along with the NRGz28 Blue Manila cab..

Good mix...and since they're cabs, you can try any mixture and uninstall if you don't like.

@ NATF,

Is there a guide somewhere on how to cook roms? How did you learn? I want to learn to use the raphael kitchen and cook my own roms.

Thanks.

I started by reading _Alex_'s Cooking Wiki in the Kaiser Wiki.

But once I had a very broad overview of the process, it took a lot of tedious work to really learn the cooking process. There is a lot of trial and error.

I have a Fuze and I am using the Fuze 4.3 Standard rom, I was looking into switching out the Fuze hardware keyboard with the one from the unlocked Touch Pro (the original green one), I was wondering how would I change the key mapping of the keyboard, I don't want to use the Touch Pro rom because I need the ATT settings.

Thanks for any responses :)

CWSLayout. Change it to 0.

NATF forgot the registry keys for the zoom to work (bad NATF!). The keys are in the first post of this thread:

Sorry about the registry keys... :o

For the next version, I'm going to switch back to the old Manila build, without HD contacts, and that will hopefully resolve the lag issues. Anyone who wants to HD Contacts tab can easily install it from a CAB.

Give this a try.

Disable TF3D, soft reset, install CAB, soft reset, enable TF3D.

Gave it a shot and it worked fine. Maybe there's a bit of a speed-up with this version, but nothing earth-shattering - really hard to say without being able to run them side by side. On the other hand, I can't say the slow down in 4.3 was anything major to begin with. I was certainly willing to live with it, given how well everything else is working

I'm guessing for many the loss of the new Contacts tab and the extra 12-13mb of memory use by installing the old version outweighs the minor, if any speed-up.

One other question. Has TF3D been compressed in 4.3 as I believe it was in prior versions.

Thanks for your help.

Nice ROM NATF.. Only issues I notice so far were the Add/Remove programs issue and MMS messages (pics) not being received.. Got the Add/remove fixed, but not sure what to do to get MMS back. I know I am one of the few who care about PTT; family and friends use it from time to time. On previous builds of NATF ROM, I was able to install a CAB that I found while searching that solved the problem but with 4.3 that CAB no longer works?

Anyone have any thoughts on how to get the PTT function back with 4.3?

4.3 does not have the AT&T PhoneCanvas dialer, which is required for PTT. Starting with 4.4, I will revert to the basic WM dialer, and install the PhoneCanvas dialer by CAB so that people can choose which one they want.

I'm having a problem with my notifications. The "Display message on screen" options will not stay checked.

Another problem is with manual rotate. After I enable it, it will not work when assigned to any buttons.

Both of these problems are not fixed with a hard reset.

For my fellow NaTF ROM Users.

I am a user of the Fuzeberry 7.5 CFC, however i am not a fan of the Crystal Flip Clock and would rather the White Flip Clock.

I have attached two files that allow switching between both clocks.

Please note that these CABs are designed and tested only for the Fuzeberry 7.5 CFC Theme.

Second note is to remember to disable TouchFlo 3D before using these CABs.

Greetings NotATreoFan!

I am a first-timer at loading 3rd party ROMs, and I have to admit that it took quite a while to decide that I was ready and willing to take the plunge.

It was your 4.2 package that finally convinced me that the number of increases in efficiency was worth the gamble of bricking the device. Happily, I've been so busy the last month that I only got a chance to give it a try this week, after your 4.3 package has already been out for a week.

I sincerely appreciate all of your hard work in this project, and thank you for the absolutely kick-*** ROM. It is truly amazing how much better my Fuze is working in every aspect!

JamesAllen

have you tried manual?

NOTE 2: anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe from second attachment to the device and run it. then once the screen is black, run RUU manually. i.e. you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious.

another thing it could be is that you are on a domain with folder redirection. I know it wants to be on a local drive. with folder redirection and offline files your desktop, docs are not really local. they are a redirection to a user folder on the server. just wanted to throw that out.

I would be curious to see if this were fixed. It has been reported in two other HardSPL threads. I have a good ActiveSync connection both before and after attempting to HardSPL yet I get the same symptoms you do, and others as well. It has not been addressed in either of the two other threads, possibly people assume we have done something wrong. I have Hard SPL'd my 8525 and flashed many ROMs but this process does not work for me.

anyone tried the Blackstone radio that NATF is using...i'm about to give it a shot here in a few. Just wondering since the cooker may not see all the problems we are getting since the majority of is is using stock radio's and he's using another one.

I was going to try it if I ever get my Fuze unlocked. Not at a point where it's worth to pay for it at the moment. hehehe.

My add/remove programs also dont show any entries :(

This is a known issue...there's a fix for it listed on post 2083 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3299051&postcount=2083). Also I believe the fix has already been implemented in the Kitchen files.

I am also having issues where no programs that I've installed are showing up on the program list.

Hmmm, sounds to me like it's more the LG Vu's problem not the Fuze. If you private message me the number, I'll try sending a picture to an LG Vu and see if I have a problem...I send SMS's all the time so I know there's nothing wrong with my phone. :)

Another flash story if it helps. This was my first flash since my tmo-wizard days and all went fairly smoothly (kaiser is still stock & getting ready for ebay). Using the guides, googling xda, and lots of reading I flashed hardspl then I went ahead and paid to secunlock because to me without Olipro this or my old wizard flashing wouldnt have been possible.

I flashed NATF 4.3 w/o issue but would have liked to have an option to not load all the tf3d since I have phonealarm and spb shell set up to do most everything I need.

Thinking how are you going to know if it's better unless you try I flashed the latest raphael radio 11 something. Then is when I hit my one wrinkle because I started getting these crazy sms msgs that looked like an encoded data stream (completely unreadable and from strange phone numbers). I also had good signal, then no signal, then good again. Clearly the phone was upset.

Since I'm already trusting NATF for this rom I saw blackstone on his sig and after research found how to load it. I remember an old p1tater post where he was flashing radios right & left off his mmc & thought I'd never be that daring but what the heck. Formatted an mmc FAT and loaded blackstone. Now I'm running fine, no more strange sms's, good signal strength even in my basement and gps locks fast. Now I can can read about att roms getting delayed & yawn.

My guess is I'm right on the edge/hspda border at home & this might have contributed to my 11. radio issues. Google didnt shed any light on others having my issue. Not sure if blackstone solved my problem or just reflashing.

The only loose end is when you secu unlock it leaves you with an old hardspl on your phone. I havent seen anyone talking about it or if there's any advantage to flashing back to the one from my initial (higher version number 1.9 I think) hardspl. I'd also like to figure out custom uc scripts when work allows.

I very much would like to thank

Does this mean what I think it does?

I was going to ask if you was going to port 6.5 when the tp2 came out :D

Because it has the same spec "according to engadget" as the touchpro, well other then screen resolution, and the UI on the TP2 is so fluid. So I can only expect it to perform about as well on the touch pro since the tp2 doesnt "supposidly" have any changes when it comes to ram, cpu, and memory size.
