Does this mean what I think it does?

I was going to ask if you was going to port 6.5 when the tp2 came out :D

Because it has the same spec "according to engadget" as the touchpro, well other then screen resolution, and the UI on the TP2 is so fluid. So I can only expect it to perform about as well on the touch pro since the tp2 doesnt "supposidly" have any changes when it comes to ram, cpu, and memory size.

The Touch Pro 2 isn't going to be running 6.5, it's going to be running 6.1

Wait your right... I wonder why it performs so much better then the touch pro then?

How do you know it preforms so much better than the Touch Pro?

We don't know, as we don't know what you mean. I will guess by 6.5 you refer to Windows Mobile 6.5, so...

Why would anyone wait for what you call 'tp2' to come out to port to Windows Mobile 6.5. Da_G is already building a kitchen for Windows Mobile 6.5. I will bet that when Windows Mobile 6.5 is released Da_G has a stable kitchen within two weeks.

Have you guys seen the videos of the new HTC Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2, the manila is fantastic and they have added a new start menu, and so many other awesome new features. Natf, you should look into these roms once they come out to porting them to the Fuze and Touch Pro :D

Do you really think he doesn't keep up with what is going on in this site? He's already using Da-G's port of Windows Mobile 6.5 and he's also active in several other threads. He's pretty much keepig up with the leading edge of what can be done.

I really don't understand the illogical reasoning behind many of the posts here.

@CR7KB24: Because in the video engadget has of the htc rep demoing the phone you can tell the menus are more fluid. I meant TF3D btw :P

@garyfunk: Actually what I meant that he could port the new version of TF3D :P. I previously thought it had the same version as the one on the HD and it was 6.5 causing it to perform better. But going back I noticed that HTC has redone it quite a bit and added new features "like the intergrated start menu and advanced contact menu". Then I noticed that the TP2 and TD2 officially will run 6.1 pro "although they did have a td2 at the booth running 6.5".

I'm not sure it'll be possible to get the TP2 stuff over to the TP or the Fuze. If the TP2 is running WinMo 6.5 then those features were probably built for that and AFAIK you have to key a build of OS to a particular device, so in order to get WinMo 6.5 on a Fuze you'd have to have a Fuze key'd build of WinMo 6.5...and the same for the TP1.

If I'm wrong that's then that's great as I would be very excited to see some of those features on my Fuze. :)

Well that is kinda expected as it is a newer version of TouchFlo

I agree with you here. TF3D is a bit unresponsive, but the rest of the OS is speedy, which makes little sense. When I say unresponsive, I mean, when I touch launch something, like trying to reply to an SMS or launch an email to read, it takes a while for it to come up.

When I stop using my touch pro for about 10 minutes (obviously because I don't always have it in my hand) and I slide out my keyboard, it takes about 1.5-2 seconds (SLOW)

Can someone give me some tips on this issue?

How can I speed this up?

I've never had this issue on previous NATF ROMS before! =(

I'm sure you've heard of this but if not then maybe this could be put into consideration for future ROMs. I tried out the UPX Squeezer BATCH (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=481880) from Sir.B in the Blackstone thread and for some programs that I tried this for, the load times decreased drastically. For some, load times were already quick and no difference was noted. For the rest that I tried, they were not yet compressible. Maybe you used this in your older roms, or maybe you do right now, I cant really tell because of my lack of expertise but this could decrease some of the loading times and increase some space.

The batch file is kept as simple as possible for everyone's ease of use
but this is pretty advanced tweaking, so all common warnings apply
and/or
if you are not comfortable with getting files from/to your PocketPC
and/or
can't figure out how to extract this zip and read the "read me.txt"
and/or
don't know what “any key” :) is DO NOT TRY THIS!
(read the forum and the wiki a bit more, and you'll gain the knowledge)
I'm sure you know what "any key" is :D

Well I've been a huge fan of the NATF ROMs, and I decided the only thing I could really contribute are custom splash loaders.

NATF: I'm not entirely sure how you feel about the two you included, but I have an alternative for users to flash. Let me know if this is a problem!

First let me tell you this ROM ROCKS! Thanks for all the hard work you've put into it.

Great ROM, just a few bugs to point out. When on the internet or texting, and you get a call at the same time, the screen starts glitching. Also the battery icon sometimes sways from the % one to the full battery below it.

I haven't downloaded the black screen fix, but when I turn my screen on, off, and on within a few seconds, the black screen pops up.

The slider for answering could use a little tweeking. It often glitches to the the side other than a smooth slide. Other than that this is a very efficient and good looking ROM, keep up the good work.

This is what happens when someone who knows how to use Photoshop comes around! ;) If you could modify the screen to Touch Pro Series and remove 4.3 (so I can use it for multiple builds), or send me the PSD, I will gladly use it going forward.

2) Can can someone develop apps for winmo? i see the ads for the blackberry app development tools on XDA and now with the windows marketplace coming out i would like to know how i could produce apps.

Probably not the best place to ask... I've been developing Windows Mobile apps since like PPC 2000/2002. If you have limited programming experience I would try working with managed code (using the .NET 3.5 framework). There is a plethera of resources if you search Google. Good luck!

1. Not yet. I'm waiting for a slightly more stable/compatible (VGA) build to surface.

2. I'm sure MS will develop some type of dev kit prior to the official launch of WM6.5.

quick question. did a quick search but didnt find anything. does anyone know why the data symbol on the status bar will sometimes seem to be almost whited out? Its happened since stock fuze rom/radio and i have seen it on a couple of natf roms and with new radio. Everything seems to work fine. just wondering if it was maybe because data was not used for a certain amount of time. Thanks.

NotATreoFan,

I must admit I like your lite version of this rom, however..
I do not like the customized splash/startup screens..
If Manila would be left of to make it more lite, and upload the cab somewhere else if you want to install in manually, it would be awesame.

The same thing for Opera, if someone would like to install a different version, there is no need for this to be in the rom.

As I am not a cooker myself, I would really appreciate if you are able to remove this stuff.

Some other thing, not that I used Manila but it feels 'unclean', some of the icons from the Manila Progams tab are corrupt / incorrect..

Thanks in advance for your response and the hard work.

haha go for it. i'd like anyone to make changes. i believe the best part about using a custom rom is we are able to make it what we want. screw what at&t and htc think is best for us.

NATF,

This ROM is really awesome, and with Gary Funk's UC help, I can reflash and still have everything back up and running within 20 minutes or so.

Haven't noticed this issue posted. When I sync with Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista), I always get a sync error on the first attempt. Then when I resync, it works with no errors. Anybody else seen this or have any ideas?

The sync works the second time, even though I don't close anything on the device or the PC

Thanks,
Stuart

Hmmmmmmmm......

I wonder if this is why I could not beam some MP3s over Bluetooth to my cousin's and his fiances' LG [Verizon] phones. But she could send stuff to me.

so there is something missing on this version. Cant be the phone cause stock rom works. and I know it worked at christmas time cause i sent pics to lg vu and they worked then. I believe that was 4.0 I was using at the time. I am available via pm all day if I can assist with anything

I get this exact error as well. I only get it after I select the synchronization of files. Since I sync files all of my My Documents folder on the phone gets restored but I don't check that on the initial sync or even forget to for a while, but once I select that the error starts popping up again.

I searched and didn't see a fix for two problems I'm having. The first is that 4.3 seems to have a substantial delay from when the phone begins ringing on a caller's phone until the time it actually rings on my phone. I've tested it and it is from 3 to 4 rings that are heard by the caller before my phone rings and vibrates. On my own tests, the calls went to voicemail before I could even answer the phone.

the other issue has to do with answering the phone. The slider disappears after a while. When the phone does actually ring (see above) and shows the incoming caller and the supposed "Answer/Ignore" slider areas, there is actually no slider. The phone cannot be answered. The buttons don't work without the slider, thus leaving the phone useless to try and answer. A soft reset fixes the slider, but it has happened each of the last two days ... had to soft reset to correct the issue.

Any fixes for these items? I hope so; otherwise I'll have to go back down to 3.2 ... for the 3rd time (4.0 introduced GPS/software issues). I like the speed this ROM, but I can't afford to miss calls.

This is reference to the phone lagging on ringing ... and no, I haven't tweaked anything. I just tested again and this time the phone lit up on ring number two, but did not actualy get to the point of showing a contact and actually ringing and vibrating until ring three.

I have added a few programs, but they are the exact same programs I hvae used before without issue.

Any info on the missing slider, or is that just me too? I guess I could reflash and see what happens. Just ready to stop flashing my phone for a while. Sounds like it may have something to do with the MyDocuments folder, since I am syncing that.

I spoke with peer about your problem this morning. He's guessing that there is something like a firewall that has an open handle to some kind of log file that is in your MyDocuments folder, and when you try to sync up WMDC tries to get exclusive access to every file in that folder. If it cannot it throws up an error like the one you're seeing.

Just to make 100% sure that it is syncing up the MyDocuments folder causing the problem, can you setup WMDC to stop syncing it for a day or two to see if the problem goes away?

I had the same problems and posted awhile back. Missing Slider and delay in answering with missed calls and don't get some of my calls.

Also, had problems with data connections on V4.3.

I reflashed with V4.2 Which seems to be the best for me. The only issue I have with V4.2 is clock is off sometimes. Its like it drops off network.

I flashed last week from 4.2 to 4.3, and I really like it, its very fast, however is there anyway to disable this slide to answer? I have searched this thread and found only that this is part of the htc dialer now, but it does not work properly for me. I keep losing calls when i slide to answer, and even when I hit the answer button it just stays there saying incoming call/AT&T on the corner but it does not answer the call. I have reflashed this morning and hard reseted thinking it was probably a bad flash.

Any thoughts?

thanks :)
I had the same problem but put your finger on the slider and slide to answer, not poke it. Works everytime now. I agree with you that 4.3 does rock with some very minor exceptions.

but shouldn't it bypass the whole slider deal if you press the physical call button, because even when I do that it will just stay there ringing, very frustrating. 3 out of 5 calls are missed and I have to call them back. I will try pressing and holding the slider more firmly to see what happens. Just wish you could disable this feature since it does not seem to work well, at least not for me.

I recently flashed the V4 rom on my Att fuze and all was well. Untill I connected to my company's exchange server and was required to use a simple PIN code for security. Still no problem, until I reset the device. When I restarted the device the PIN I entered would not work at all!! The only thing I could do at the moment was a hard reset and re install/configure everything again!!

Any Idea why this is happening or if there is a way around it?

I did notice on the 4th install that if I changed the PIN before the reset it would keep.

Hmmm, I have the same setup using my company's corp exchange server and it enforces to set up a simple PIN code, but I've never had any problems with it whatsoever. By the time I set it up though, I've completely finsihed with the NATF ROM install and the Fuzeberry install...setting up e-mail is one of the last things I do, but once I setup the PIN it's never failed to work for me.

I'm not entirely sure what you meant by the "on the 4th install" statement, can you explain it a bit more?

Is it possible you typed in the PIN wrong?

I don't have an answer for your problem, but something that might help is to set the 'Call Forwarding time' higher. That might help you miss less calls.

Try DiamondTweak. I was having the same problem - phone wouldn't even light up until the second ring and then the ring wouldn't start until the third. I installed DiamondTweak and changed Ring Type to "Without Delay" and now it lights up on or before the first ring and starts ringing on or before the second.

[QUOTE=NotATreoFan;3342783]I do not experience these delays. Have you tweaked anything?

This is reference to the phone lagging on ringing ... and no, I haven't tweaked anything. I just tested again and this time the phone lit up on ring number two, but did not actualy get to the point of showing a contact and actually ringing and vibrating until ring three.

I have added a few programs, but they are the exact same programs I hvae used before without issue.

Any info on the missing slider, or is that just me too? I guess I could reflash and see what happens. Just ready to stop flashing my phone for a while. With all the mention of the new WM phones coming out in the next few months I'll no doubt be flashing something else besides my Fuze in short order.

My phone has the delay and it is still stock, so I don't think the ROM is the issue. In fact, that's one of the things that got me looking for a new rom. Guess I have to live with it. :(

Edit: Or maybe not looking at the above post! Gonna try it out!

You can disable it by enabling the default dialer in Advanced Config but that disables the whole htc dialer.

By the 4th try I mean that I had to do a Hard Reset and re-install everything 4 times actually I'm on my 6th, and will be disabling the security pin to avoide the issue..

I definitely am using the right PIN. It actually will work fine if the phone locks without being reset. I can use the pin and it works everytime, until the phone resets or is rebooted.

Is this pin to get into exchange or the security pin to get into your phone. You don't do a very good job explaining the problem.

First of all, Thank you NATF for this awesome ROM. I'm currently using 4.3 and I come across a bug. when I use a pin lock on my Fuze the Lock Device feature on the Long End Key doesn't work. is there a fix for this? I remember when I was using a stock Fuze ROM I can use both at the same time.

Hey guys, quick question.
Upon installing NATF's ROM, It said that I had to download the HARD-SPL & Install that first which I did. However at the end it states
"do not use this RUU for anything other than SPL flashing (i.e. hardspl or stock spl restore)!!! if you want to flash some other rom, then use customruu " so does that mean that I have to install customruu or just install NATF alone since I already installed the HARD-SPL

Thanks,

I spoke with peer about your problem this morning. He's guessing that there is something like a firewall that has an open handle to some kind of log file that is in your MyDocuments folder, and when you try to sync up WMDC tries to get exclusive access to every file in that folder. If it cannot it throws up an error like the one you're seeing.

Just to make 100% sure that it is syncing up the MyDocuments folder causing the problem, can you setup WMDC to stop syncing it for a day or two to see if the problem goes away?

'Twould seem that it is indeed something in MyDocuments. I unchecked the option to synchronize documents, and the error didn't happen on the first sync after I connected the Fuze to the PC.

Glad it's nothing more serious,
Stuart

When you download NATF's rom just run the RaphaelWrapper.exe included in the file and you should be fine. To avoid any confusion just delete the file containing all of the HARD-SPL stuff. The customruu used to run hard-spl is special hence the warning.

My sentiments exactly, regarding both the ROM and the house. Thanks NaTF!!!

I just upgraded from 1.2 to 4.3 and was a little nervous about having to reinstall a bunch of files. I have sprite backup (SB) as a backup, but chose to copy/paste shortcut the appropriate .exe files into my start menu from my card instead. I wasn't sure if SB would keep old and potentially invalid registry entries and slow up my phone. I love how clean and efficient this ROM is. One question, though. Did you drop the TF3d config from 4.3, forget to add it, or did I just not find it, yet? No worries (whatayaknow, a cajun talking like an Aussie!) I have the .CAB I just didn't want to add a file already present. I have one addition I would love to see in your future ROMs. it's called Diamond BackgroundChanger
I got this from XDA by kevinv2u and it's only 171kb.

I am curious as to what is changing in version 4.4? I have a very solid phone right now with 4.3, and will most likely not upgrade until WM6.5 or the new TF3D are included with more of the bugs ironed out. Do you have plans to implement one or both of these upgrades once they become available? :D

Did it work in 4.2 or 4.1?

not sure.. didnt stay with either one long enough. 4.0 did work

You could move this closer to a fix if you could tell NATF which verison broke it, that is if you are interested in getting if fixed quickly.

*sigh*

So yesterday my battery drain problem returned. I had about 5 days of great performance / battery drain and I made no changes, then out of nowhere the 1 % per minute problem returned.

I'm a tester for a living so my first impulse is to try going back build by build until it doesn't happen...but I'm at the point where I honestly don't know if it's the ROM or not...it doesn't make sense.

I get a lot of messages, so does battery drain go up that dramatically for text / multimedia / e-mail messages being stored? I would "guess" there was a total of probably 2000 or so messages stored for 5 days worth of use. Most of them just text.

I'm totally open to hard-resetting, re-flashing, whatever...I just need someone just lend their experience and tell me what they'd do in my place to figure out what's wrong?

So I hard-reset this morning and have left the phone sit with no SIM card and no SD card in it...it's just running NATF's v4.3 ROM and the battery drain is back to being great again.

I'm not pointing the finger at anything, just want to know from a testability standpoint what is the best place to start looking for the cause of this...what does the fact that hard-resetting cures this at least for a while mean?

The default settings in my ROM are set to Without Delay. As long as you're using the Standard version, Diamond TF3D Config is installed under Tools. Otherwise, you could always hard reset... :p

I'm running NATF's 4.2 ROM but I don't think this is specific to his ROM. When typing out a text message in landscape (keyboard out) I'm running into a few problems.

1.) Text input is very slow.
2.) Text size is HUGE (I can only see about 3-4 words of text as a type).
3.) I want to get rid of that little box that pops up as a type a word (it's gray and it has a plus icon to the far right (I'm assuming to add that word to the custom dictionary).

I'm guessing that #3 is probably causing both #1 and #2 above. So... how to I disable that? In the Input Settings under Word Completion everything de-selected.

This seams to be specific to only a certain few apps as well. I noticed it at times when setting up new email accounts... and it always pops up when sending a text message.

Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone noticing sounds/notifications just stop functioning? I don't think this has been addressed in this thread. After a soft reset sound work again but eventually they just stop working again. Phone will still vibrate but not play notifications for new messages/volume changing/phone key tones etc...

Am I doing something that is causing this?

Thanks for your input!

I'd like to understand what happens when I install new apps on top of older ones, especially older ones that are included in the ROM (I'm using NATF's ROM).

1. Does the new install overwrite the old one completely?
2. If a newer app is installed on the storage card, what happens to the older app that's stored on the device in ROM?

Specifically, I want to install a new version of Opera, but NATF already has an instance of Opera installed.

Thx

To answer your questions, most likely yes it will be "overwritten." Especially if it says so when you are installing the new one.

Since this really relates to HOW NATF "cooked" in the version of Opera I have merged your question with his Thread. It will get much more visability by people who will know.

It's February 22nd. You said on or before February 29th. 29-22 = 7. What am I missing here?

Anyways, NATF - I'm sure you and your fellow cooks have been following this, but have you seen that several pieces of software from the Touch Pro 2 have been ported to the Touch Pro? They apparently run great.

They are - TP2 Calculator, a newer build of Opera, and a newer build of HTC Album with Facebook integration and supposedly much faster operation.

Herg is the one porting all of this - so props to him! Hopefully those three things can make it to 4.4. I'm looking forward to it!

Just place these shortcuts in your \windows\start menu\programs\ folder and then they will be selectable from all your programs. TaskManagerApp is the app that's under settings and TaskManagerLite just shows the running apps for you to choose what to close and what-not

I was wondering if on your 4.4 rom you could add these registry keys to make the cameras panoramic mode take higher res pictures and to enable both sports and burst modes. I've tried it on most of your roms and it works great.

For higher res pana
HKLM/Software/HTC/Camera/P3
Adjust MainCamCaptSize to 1024 and MainCamSupportCaptSize to 1744

To enable burst and sport modes
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\P6\Enable to "1"

For those of you experiencing battery drain issues with v4.3, try a different rilphone.dll in your /Windows/ directory.

If you look in the radio thread, most of the radios have their associated rilphone.dll file posted somewhere in there.

For example, I tried the new BS 1.12 radio last night with the rilphone.dll from the BS 1.09.25.35 radio. My battery drain was horrible! I was losing about 1% every minute. I kept that same radio and tried the rilphone.dll from the 1.10.25.25 BS radio my battery was better but GPS sucked. Now i'm using that radio with the rilphone.dll that originally came with this ROM (and the leaked radio) and now my battery drain back to normal. My phone came off the charger about 4 hours ago and its only down to 98%.

So it looks like the radio/rilphone.dll combo could account for some of you with unusually high battery drain.

By default, you cannot turn 3G on/off in the Comm Manager. v4.2 was using Aruppenthal's custom Comm Manager, which added that option.

You can use Advanced Config to add a 3G toggle in Comm Manager...

I've gone into the Advanced Config tool, under Menu --> More Settings --> Comm Manager and added 3G and removed Microsoft Data Push.

After "OK" and doing the softreset as prompted, the changes in Comm Manager are not saved. Can you assist? I'm running your 4.3 ROM Standard Fuze on my AT&T Fuze device.

Yah, that is. It is odd how different radios react differently on our devices. I have been using the 1.11.25.01 since it was leaked/released and i havent had any real issues with it.

Last night i did notice that using the camera does speed the drain. I was attempting to figure out how to disable the variable frame rate when taking pictures (in low light the frame rate drops to 3 to absorb more light, which leads to blurry images) I figure it was constant camera on and off after each reg change, but besides that, this radio does the trick.

Good luck with the Blackstone.. and does it come with a rilphone?

That's the exact same one I was talking about...I guess I could have been a little more specific lol.

You can still install another Manila package. I installed FuzeBerry and HD contacts works ok.

I never really noticed much of a slowdown with the HD contacts in 4.3...I think it slowed down access to the Windows directory some though.

To fix the font issue change these registry values:

HKLM\System\GWE\Menu\Barfnt\Ht = 800
HKLM\System\GWE\Menu\Popfnt\Ht = 1000 (if you want the larger popup menu font as in previous NATF ROMs)
HKLM\System\GDI\SYSFNT\Ht = 900

Thanks for the reply mindfrost...

As this doesn't seem to be caused by NATF's ROM I'm hesitant to keep the discussion going about battery problems on this post...but there are a few of us on here that experience this problem and I don't want to loose any traction we're getting...if this should be moved to a different thread, please let me know...

Anyway, onto the meat of the post...so I was told that the rilphone.dll in NATF's 4.3 ROM was for the 1.11.25.01 radio, so I switched to that radio and it worked great for about 5 days, then out of nowhere it went back to the 1% per minute drain problem. Then I hard-reset and poof...back to normal drain. So my question is...would you still feel that this could be a problem brought on by the radio or does this sound like it's a different problem?

I didnt see this posted so I'll do it then.
This is to add to the problem where some things are cut off.
Please try it as well and let me know if its only me.
This happens at the Alarm section, try turning on the alarms for other days.
Youll notice your hitting the letter but its not clicking it.
If you hit the lower to bottom part it will hit it though.
Ill try the fixes posted by Mindfrost and see if any of this helps.

I have a question about Video Call feature with 4.3 ROM. If you click on the Call hard button and get into the screen that shows a keypad and the last dialed numbers, the right soft button says "Video Call". Is there any way to change it to Call, b/c video calling is either not enabled or quite pricey.
Thanks

In 4.4, it's the left soft button that says 'Video call.' However, that would be rather redundant since pressing any other button causes a normal call and we would lose the Video Call button.

I think I accadently flashed 4.3 XD, cause when I extracted the files I guess I forgot to highlight the raphimg file, so it didnt replace the 4.3 one. So when I flashed it flashed 4.3 again... Also I have a question, when the xbmod version of the touch pro 2 manilla comes out all I have to do is install the lite version of 4.4 and then install the updated manilla? Or will the installation just update the manilla files in the full version?

25th February 2009, 04:41 AM
Thank you NATF for the wonderful work you have apparently done. I just got an HTC Fuze (AT&T) last week. I have already found the need to tweak a few tiny things by installing some additional configuration utilities I've found. From what I am reading, I am sure it will just be a matter of time before I install your 4.4 ROM.

I do apologize, but I have searched (or tried to search) this thread but maybe my keywords were too general...but I just have what I hope is a quick and easy question.

I know I will need HARDSPL to flash the roms, and I have downloaded your most recent rom. I also downloaded the stock AT&T ROM from this site that appears to be identical to the versions included with my Fuze (just incase I ever decided to swap back)...and I know that (for warranty purposes) I would have to replace the boot loader back to stock if I ever had to send it back in. I think I understand the process for this phone and am about to take the plunge. (I have flashed roms on other models of phones in the past, so this whole process isn't entirely new to me)...

But my question is, if I flashed to your ROM, am I going to lose everything I already have on the phone as far as contacts, pictures, and music? If it does erase all of those (like formatting the phone), what would be my best option to backup the contacts, music, and photos? Would something like Activesync work best, or is there a third party backup utility that would allow me to back them all up easily and then do a restore after I flashed ROM's? Or should I just copy all of the files (music and photo) to my PC via the USB cable and then do the contacts somehow else?

I don't have a whole lot of stuff on there, if I had to completely re-do all of my contacts it wouldn't kill me, but I was just wondering what (if anything) I should backup, provided the flash doesn't fail to apply during updating of course :)

I am going to spend the next several days reading all the cons for the v4.4 but once I am sure none of them are deal breakers, then I will probably flash after the simple backup process you described.

I am guessing that any apps I may have installed (like the advanced config and diamond tf3d config tools) will also need to be re-installed also. No big deal, I only have a couple of them... but thanks a lot for your info! I almost can't wait to try to flash the rom now :)

I am at a friends house and plugged in my device to his PC (he has activesync installed but does not use it). I let it establish a connection to the device and then realized my calendar info went to his Outlook (which he DOES use)...so, I deleted the partnership on the PC...not realizing that when I plugged my device back into his PC, it would erase all of my contacts and calendar entries. So now I have to start over from scratch again anyway... (the message the PC gave me, I mis-read it and thought it was only going to delete the information ON THE PC itself...but after seeing what I did, I realize that wasn't the case).

I may consider flashing ROM's tomorrow ... I didn't lose anything that a few hours of work won't fix... AND I learned a valuable lesson about Activesync that I wish I hadn't learned the hard way...

Just after I posted this message, as I was re-creating my contacts (luckily I only got a few of them re-created), I realized that the PC still had all the contacts in Outlook. I had Outlook save each one as a .VCF card (I selected all, told it to SEND so it attached them to an email, but then I just CUT and PASTED them from the attachments line and placed them in a folder on my SD card). I then just went to the folder on the phone and clicked each one, one at a time, and it added them back to my phone with all of my notes, birthdays, and even the personal photos I had created! So now, not only did I not lose my contacts, but I realize that as long as I keep the .VCF files stored somewhere, I can easily just re-add them without any hassle! I am probably going to flash tomorrow, but may still think on it over the next few days...but I feel happy that my contacts are back the way they were!

Backup all files, like pictures, doc, video, etc that's on the phone memory before flashing (you can backup these files using PIMBACKUP custom section). Use PIMBACKUP (search for this program) to backup your contact, calendar, and SMS. Flash your device. Than restore with PIMBACKUP.

Hi NATF,
I just wanted to confirm what others have reported. I have a Touch pro T7272 (UK). When I place your image in the root directory of my SD card and reboot in to hardSPL, it shows up OK, starts the flashing process and gets stuck at around 70% or so (can't tell because there are no numeric accurate figures in the progress bar). I tried a hard-reset and flashing again but still no success.
Eventually, I placed my SD card in to my laptop and placed the HTC new release (5.05) and all was well.
It's easy to reproduce if you need more info.

I have not tried from a PC,USB connection yet.
Other then that, I've been looking forward to this release
So I hope we can figure this out. :)

Cheers,
-Dave

It is not an issue, it is a feature. That is not a problem as it is normal.

I've had the same problems for a while now.

Its either related to Opera or an updated version of PIE (if we have one in these ROMs). I've noticed it in all of the newer ROMs I've flashed, not just NATF.

Ok thanks. I actually installed the Restore_curtains CAB that NATF supplies and it got rid of the issue for me. Cleaned it up nice.

What happened to the hd contact tab in 4.4?

From the change log:

Rolled back to older Manila build due to lag issues with HD Contacts version.

For anyone not running Lite v4.4. Does the standard 4.4 have the Lock feature?

I just checked my kitchens, and they all say v4.4.

For me it's showing 4.4S but the ROM date is 02/10/09. (Just for information.) Every thing is working great for me.

Thank you

Anecdotally, I am seeing the battery life not as good compared to 4.3. Has anybody else seeing any difference. Again , this is anecdotal. I have not gather logs and not done methodically process of determining if it is.

Hey NATF,
Thanks for 4.4! I'll post anything that I run into.

I was wondering, on your front page, can you post the cab for the HD Manila that you used in 4.3?

Thanks :)

I agree, I liked the manilla from 4.3, it seemed to be smoother.

Has anyone tried the xbmod hd manilla on the 4.4 rom, and does it have landscape mode "just the standard landscape on the default rom not the verizon one :P"?

I will bet you guys can get it from the same place NATF does.

Hello,

Did a search on wi-fi, but seems like everybody wants it to stay on at all times. However, I have a problem with keeping wi-fi off. If I turn wi-fi on and then turn it off, it will keep turning itself back on unless I 1) turn it off and 2) soft reset the phone. For example, I turn my phone to flight mode when I walk into my office (no cell reception), but after a few minutes, Wi-fi will turn on automatically.

Is this something that other people are seeing as well? Thanks.

Nat,

Great work... I love the speed of the 4.4 ROM. One problem though, I am the one person that uses AT&T PTT. I did as Post 4 says to install the AT&T dialer but PTT still doesn't work. The last version that worked was 4.2. Can you think of anything else I can try or what is causing PTT to not work?

Thanks again for your efforts.

I'm still waiting for anyone to post a true bug in this release... that speaks volumes!

I just upgraded from 2.2 to 4.4. This felt like THE ONE! And, after using it a few hours now, getting ALL my software restored succesfully... the only thing left to try is GPS.

Okay, just tried it. Not spectacular. But, that was from a cold start, and I never really had great GPS response. So, it's something I've learned to deal with.

Bottom line - so far this thing is bug free and running smooth. Fuzeberry 7.5CFC is flawless on it as well.

Thanks NATF for all your work. Take a 1 month break! hehe

I installed 4.4 (coming from 4.3) and hard reset. I installed programs and soft reset several times with no issues. Then (this is the only thing I see as different) I entered login information into account manager for Facebook last night. This morning I could not access Contacts (all people) from the tab in TF3D, so I soft reset. Upon doing that, instead of "Loading" TF3D it said Tap to Load. Upon tapping it went into a loop and would never start.

I am trying everything now from another hard reset, except the login, to try to recreate the issue.... nothing so far.

You can only uninstall programs that were loaded from CAB. The two you mentioned are OEM packages.
Doh! They're in ROM. I should have known that.

As for the dialer, did you follow my steps under the Changelog? I tested it several times.
I didnt check the changelog. It turns out I could switch back to the Today screen by pressing the Windows key and let it process in the background. It eventually uninstalled, go figure.

Hum, now my battery icon does not have the % displayed, nor does it change when I plug in the charger

Hi all,

NATF, I wanted to offer you kudos for a great release! I loaded 4.4 yesterday and all in all, this is a super solid release and ROM.

I tried out GPS functionality last night and this morning, and found for the first time in a long time, that it's working fine for me. From various locations along my commute route, in the Chicagoland area, I was able to obtain a GPS fix anywhere from 5-30 seconds. I will note that I'm using the latest Blackstone 1.12.25.16 radio right now as well, which I believe is also a factor (as it improved my GPS with the Elite RC3 ROM I was running prior).

But my question is, if I flashed to your ROM, am I going to lose everything I already have on the phone as far as contacts, pictures, and music?

Yes, you loose everything when you do a hard-reset which is required after installing the ROM. :)

I'm usually the one with battery issues, but it's day number 2 and still discharging (that sounds gross) normally.
